One of the reasons i actually dislike T7 ranked. Its 60% one of the Scharnhorst versions. My favorite is actually T10. All my captains for tech tree ships sit there and my ships are fully equipped. I never reach gold, rarely silver so ranked T10 is very rare for me and i avoid randoms for T10 due to the carrier and supership population.

Would you like an extra helping of Scharnhorst with that? And most of the people bringing Scharnhorst just charge and die early. Great torpedo bait around islands. I love Tier 7 Ranked. My T61 loves ripping up Tier 7 boats

Less BBs that can overmatch my CAs, so I see this as an absolute win

The funniest part about T7 is that all the ships that PQ mentioned are sitting in my dock. Scharnhost 43, W.Virginia 44, Atlanta, Weimer, Huron. But all I play is Scharnhost 43. Another ship thats really good premium is the British Battlecruiser Renown 44

Love the light german cruisers like the Weimar. The Munchen is also good. Still hoping for a light german cruiser line.

God, i generally hate Scharnhorst 43 players in ranked. The only tactic any of them seem to know is speed boost straight ahead to let secondaries work and try to get into torpedo range. It's rare to see anything else.

Hey PQ, good vid. Could you offer any advice on the ship trade in of any recommendations?

I play Surrey with the heal build, keep angled, and keep range around 13km and just engage and draw fire. People drop everything they are doing to chase and kill me, not realising I can drop detection anytime and heal a high percentage of citadel and pen damage and comeback. Sure, it's easy to hurt a Surrey, but it damn hard to kill a well played one.

One of my favorites for t7 is the Francesco Feeruccio. Having so much range, amazing rudder shift, and hard hitting sap against lightly armored targets makes it a real blast to play. You just outrange everyone and make yourself among the most annoying flanking ship in the game

Quick note for pronunciation, 'W's in German sound like 'V's, and 'V's sound like 'F's typically. Just saying since it's a relatively easy thing to remember in the future if you're interested :P

Thoughts on Boise? American cruiser with hydro, seems like decent armor, and has a LOT of guns for fires. Not to mention a super heal.

Tier VII is a lot more fun now than it was a few years ago. Back the it was Sinop and Flint/Belfast meta and that got old fast.

I really liked playing Helena in Bronze League: Help your DD kill the enemy DDs, sit on or behind a cap in cover and BURN THEM ALL! I got quite high damage numbers for a T7 cruiser. First time that i grind that line and I love it. I only regret that I didn´t play the US CLs sooner.

Ahh the glory days of the Scharnhorst and ranked, I think I still have my first flag from 2016 2017 and ranked good video.

You should try out the Jupitor 43 in ranked! Great DD in tier 7 ranked.

Yes. Tier 6 and 7 ranked is some of the most fun you can have. I got solo warrior a couple days ago in Farragut

Nice games, the wiemar is a dpm machine, also Maya under rated for cruiser to take, its got the heal and near atago utility.

I have both the Scharnhurst '43 and WV'44. They are both set up for secondary brawling. They are so painful in Randoms these days. I now save them for Ops, Ranked, Brawls etc only. Same goes for Massachusetts at T8. I'm almost always bottom tier and I can't get close enough to let my secondaries do their thing, You can only brawl in Randoms in T10 german BBs like the GK or Schiefflen. High tier randoms seems to be reserved for high and mod tier BB snipers.

Mahan works really well as a free DD option. You outgun everything, including the canucks, so they have to play around their concealment a lot more, which requires a really good DD pilot, rather than just being a free win for the Haida/Huron.

Hyuga is really underestimated as well - hyuga and weimar are my picks for consistently winning ranked :)

Looks like WV 44 has the Vermont acceleration I think. You accelerated to dodge the Fiji torp and it was pretty quick

When ranked is up I almost play it exclusively. Would love a full T7 season bronze thru gold. Shinome is my Bronze go to, but the scharn 43 came out a few times.

I got to rank 1 in the Minsk and Jupiter 42. What a ship the Jupiter 42 is to citadel cruisers.

I have 3 Scharnies. The 1st Scharny that came out, a Black Scharny a couple of yrs ago & then Scharny '43. I kinda don't mind them. I've even made a model of the Scharny.

Funny enough, I have both the Scharnhorst 43 and the West Virginia 44 but I almost never play the S43 because it is... too good. I mean those 45s reload torps are just crazy. I like a bit of challenge and the WV44 is way more fun in that aspect, mainly because I love US AP despite their sloooooooooow balistic and I just like having those laser accurate secondaries to get rid of DDs. But you have to deal with it's slow speed and the not so accurate main guns. But the most fun is definitely the Atlanta. Quite hard to play because of its even slower shells and its fragility, but it is so rewarding when you get it together ! The good part of seeing so many Scharnhorst though is that you get to understand how to fight them :D

Love the Haida and the Huron!!! they rock. Canadian here too, so biased. But its a healthy Bias.

I had a few t7 ships that I played in rank at bronze level. Funny how I survived in a munchen for most part. huron is a good dd at rank

I would recommend trying Gorizia. People sleep on it but the 6km hydro catches people off guard all the time. It is still a Zara, minus the torps, so bbs can be annoying to deal with but it is so good for getting an early advantage.

PQ can you please review battleship Florida again? Last one I see from you is from 2020. :)

Been loving the Duke of York in the T7 ranked, surprisingly you don't see them very often in it, but that short fuse improved pen and pen angle 14" AP slaps.

Scharnhorsts, especially the 43 variants dictate for me which BBs to take. DoY is okay, but Scharnhorsts can run her down without problem if your team can't support you enough. The AP has short fuse and improved pen, but that's not helpful at all against bow in german bbs going after you. HE is okay, but the dispersion isn't working well for killing ships quick enough. The dispersion can also ruin juicy broadside shots with AP. Armor isn't great either. Had the same issues with Florida. Terrible armor. Guns don't punch hard enough and i think even while advertised as kinda accurate, i find her dispersion to be quite bad. Renown 44 is okay. Bad armor, although better than Florida. Good torpedos, not amazing, but decent guns. They seem to troll a lot, regardless if the enemy sits flat or bow in. Sometimes they do nothing, sometimes they completely dumpster your enemy. What works extremely well for me is Hyuga. Very accurate, allows to burn rushing brawlers fast consistently and seriously hurts DDs. Add to that a reload booster for nuking broadsides or quick perma double or triple fires. Speed is meh, but the armor is amazing. That thing sometimes seems, like its entire hull is made of torpedo protection.

The Scharnhorst 283 mm main guns could probably use IFHE in random battles also. Cruiser-caliber guns in a Tier IX battle. . .

PQ's comment on the scharnhorst 43 was just funny!

I went rank 1 with Mighty HOOD. Its good dispersion and great AP ricochet angle makes me feel like Alaska or Ohio. What a beautiful and powerful artwork of Britain lol

As much as I love Scharnhorst, I almost never use it anymore when ranked is in this tier bracket, because they're _everywhere._ It has gotten me to try other battleships though, with Nelson being an absolute tankbuster with its accurate , overmatching guns. Of course, there's SinOP too, and using it in ranked got me through most of the grind.

Tier 7 was fun, I played only Jervis and first time had the time/did the effort to get into silver. Being there now I kinda regret because it's been rough😂

Blyskawica worked perfect for me this season (70%). Requires at least 14 points captain though so rpf can be slapped on top of basic skill sets.

for not wait too long into T7 rank, and still have a good win rate,finally I found the Boise is a good choice.

Weimar with lighthouse is my goto for T7. it kills everything

PQ Lazo is great also, and Belfast. for T7 CAs. Renown 44 for BB and Florida. DDs Leningrad, Z39

Tier 7 is so much fun unless you face bow in Sinop. But my favorite tier 7 battleship is Ashitaka. Its a t8 amagi without a spotter at t7. 10 410 mm guns at t7. AND you almost never see them lol

Yep, Weimar is pretty awesome for T7, and although it's a very different ship, so is Munchen, which has better DPM but is more fragile. Better range and better concealment though, so it's all a tradeoff.

I'll have to get better before I go back unto ranked. All I got was absolutely hammered.

i love the Fiji and Uganda in ranked :) and you forget Heinrich, i mean ists little bit better then Scharnhorst

t7 ranked is my favourite because it's incredibly easy to hard carry with the Atlanta

Just an idea... you mentioned tier 8 has 5 upgrade slots and tier 9 has 6 upgrade slots. What do you think about the idea of a tier 7 ship having 6 upgrade slots, but 1 of them is only active if in a tier 9 game, and that one, and an additional one are only active for tier 8 games. Seems like it could be a way of somewhat dynamically up-tiering lower tier ships based on the matchup. Anyway, just a idea that I had... didn't know if it is a good one or not.

Scharnhorst43 was an easy grind. VW44 is very hard, at least for me. Will not get to level 20 in the dockyard.

I'm still in the lowest tier of ranked (Bronze I think), but W. Virginia 44 absolutely stomps. I love facing Scharnhorsts, cause I absolutely smash them.

WV44 has dethroned Scharnhorst (both) and Gneisenau for me. The former just sucks against BBs and the latter cant hit and if overpens. WV44 brings brrr secondaries on top of smash guns and fast reloading heal.

2 ship tier 10 brawl was the most fun I've had in the game. Ranked sucks

I gotta say, the '43 is terrible if you can't get close... your main guns are more of "warning shots" than anything useful, lol

It was fun yeah, but it didn't last very long. Got to rank 1 in a day, oopsie. They should just make all the leagues in lower tiers. I wouldn't even mind if they lowered the rewards for a season made of low tier ranked.
