Tie-dye pattern P260 : Golden Fields And Blue Skies

The colors of the Ukrainian flag represent golden fields of wheat under a clear blue sky. This is a common sight along the countryside as Ukraine is the largest producer of grain in the region.
I put only a thin layer of dye on top of the shirt. I then let the shirt set for 72 hours until it dried up. This creates dark lines of saturated dye on the ridges. The dye then gradually spread through to the center.

Just did the same thing with a heart in the middle. Did you use a resist to prevent the blue and yellow from blending? How long did you batch? Great work!

No resist was used, I was very careful to place the dye just enough apart. I let it set for 72 hours which is a lot longer than usual. The shirt was completely dried before rinsing.

How far apart is just enough? I want to try and make a blue and orange one but I don't want them to blend together into muddy brown if possible.

I like it. I think I'll put black over both sides or just with a sponge brush. And half black half white with black sponge brush thick water over the white so it doesn't run to bad. Thick water is dye thickener and water. I like the liquid dye thickener for sceenprinting. When it says shake until you hear the balls inside. That's no joke.
