Pro tip. Soak shirts in a soda-ash solution for half an hour. Wring out so shirt is damp. Tie. Dye. Batch for 24hrs in plastic bag. Reveal. Wash cold. Wear.

O so you don’t have to wait 24 hours before rinsing out dye? I had watched another tie dye vid and the person said rinse out dye in 24hrs m. Can someone please answer this question

I’ve worked on many tie dye shirts at this point and I can tell you from my personal experience, leaving it for 8-12 hours is equally, as effective as 24hours 👍🏼 you just want to rinse the shirt off good before applying tie dye, leave it damp for best results

Gumawa ako kahapon pru panlalaki na kulay lumabas.. dko binasa un t-shirt bago ko lagyan ng dye.. d ko lam un napili kong kulay basta pinulot ko lng dun sa chinese store na pinagbilhan ko alam ko green blue at orange un.. peru ung kinalabasan kc dark green at dark blue..yung orange okay naman Tanong ko lng kung light colors ba like gusto ko sana light green at pink my kulay ba nabibili nian o kelangan lng damihan ung tubig para mag light ang kulay nia????

Did you just mix the dye with water or you added something else to the dye and water

hi ! sure I got my tie dye powder from my local hobby lobby however if you don't have a local hobby lobby you can find it in your local Walmart in the crafts section ! :)

I get mine from Joann Fabrics. Most craft or fabric stores should have it. You can also order it from several places online, and you might find an even better color selection. Most of the store dyes are going to be basic colors, what I call crayon box colors... and that's okay. They're popular. But if you want more specific shades like say, maroon to rep your college (Go Aggies!), you might think about checking out Dharma Trading Co. or Grateful Dyes, or any of a number of online sellers who specialize in dyeing supplies. *I'm not affiliated with any company...

So I am doing spiral Tie Dye and I noticed that sometimes it comes out the way I want it (the spiral is more consistant) and sometimes it kind of is like a pattern of broken lines. I can't figure out what is the factor that causes that to happen. Do you know by any chance?

yes ! so i’ve found that it actually depends on a few factors. 1. how tight is the swirl 2. how much dye are you pouring onto the shirt... if you sort of dab the dye onto the shirt you’ll get broken lines (actually one of my personal favorites) but if you want full lines that show less white pour a lot of dye to make sure it gets in between the twists.. hope that all made sense ! 😁

@@ArtsyPassion Thanks for response. I tried couple of times yesterday to change some factors and pooring a loot of dye onto the shirt did not really help. But maybe loosening the swirl might help, thanks for that!
