I freaking love Florence Pugh so much

William Dafoe did the split personality best in Spider-Man (2002) everyone in film superhero movies have tried to copy him or be better but I think he did it best. Hopefully they do Sentry correctly though.

I love the actors and characters they got for the Thunderbolts film. Sentry will be an awesome audition to the MCU if they do him right. I’m hoping this does good so the next one has Punisher, Bullseye, and Deadpool in it though.

They definitely must make a dope scene where this Sentry would go against either Winter Soldier or U.S. agent just like they did in the Boys with Homelander vs Soldier Boy.

You touched upon it, but just to clarify and hopefully broaden understanding: Schizophrenia and Dissociative Identity Disorder are fundamentally different conditions. While they can share some similar, superficial symptoms, schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder in which a person can experience hallucinations and delusions in both thought and perception, but does NOT involve multiple personalities. DID, as the name implies, is a dissociative condition in which a person DOES have several independent personality states. The two conditions differ fundamentally: Schizophrenia effectively separates a person from reality by adding ungrounded experiences to it, such as hallucinations and delusional thoughts and beliefs, leading to confused perceptions of what is actually real. Such people can be perfectly capable of functional and independent life, whereas people with schizophrenia can face considerable challenges and often require professional assistance. And contrary to what Hollywood and other media would have people believe, people with DID do not tend to have an evil serial killer personality in there either. The continued misrepresentation - and often demonization - of psychological conditions in media really needs to end. I suspect that Thunderbolts will fail at the box office just as Captain America ie Falcon will also. In my opinion, they should have made Bucky the Winter Soldier as the new Captain America and combined with the Thunderbolts storyline and the actors involved. However Disney Marvel seems to be addicted to losing money with characters and stories that the majority do not really care about.

It’s for sure gonna be weird without Chris Evans. Hopefully Anthony mackee can hold his own. But I agree not sure if this was the best way to go for a cap America movie.

so how are they going to make the sentry stronger/more powerful than the skrull princess from the invasion series? if im not mistaken the most powerful marvel beings are sentry, blue marvel, hulk, thor, and in the movies captain marvel... the mental instability of the sentry is interesting because of his insane powerset (which it seems they gave most of that to a skrull wonder if he is going to get a blood transfusion from her or are they somehow swing the comic origin)

Truly, I am so so excited for the thunderbolts team to finally assemble in the MCU and I’m really excited for the first look whenever we get the first trailer or a poster for this because it has been a long time since D23 in august of 2022

oh what fun! I was just going to say, right before you said it (and from some other breakdowns) that the Thunderbolts are like the Suicide Squad. (which one came first since they companies steal - or rather are inspired by the other). I've always thought the Sentry was a fascinating character so I can't wait to see what happens with him.

Seems like everyone forgot about the existence of Giah from Secret Invasion in the Disney Marvel Universe. You know, the McGuffin character who ended up with the powers of the Avengers, Captain Marvel, Thanos, and everyone who bled on the Endgame battlefield? As with those God-tier powers she could probably cough and the Void would be toast.

Has Ava/ Ghost actually been confirmed tho?

As a long time Sentry fan it pains me that he will likely be a short lived character in the MCU. He has such good opportunity to be a really big bad evil guy over the span of a few movies. In the comics Sentry is a legitimate superhero who had predated everyone and was the original super hero that people like the F4, avengers, and spiderman all used to admire before the Sentry universally wiped his existence from everyone's memory after realizing he was the void (He did not consciously know this much of the time). The void is typically depicted as an actual separate entity created by Sentry that does horrible things to balance out all of the good sentry accomplished. I could have totally seen Sentry being a member of the team for a few movies and coming to the slow realization the void is a part of him leading to a climatic sequel were the thunderbolts have to dramatically try to take down their former teammate. Just my take though
