Just 12 packs for 4 decks here too. That's only 3 packs per deck

Fun fact: Jace Reawakened has different art on MtG Arena, still with his phyrexianised tentacle probe things in the background. So your theory of them cramming cards from different sets in holds some weight. Maybe he was going to be in MoM: Aftermath?

"Hypothesizzle is a reprint?" It is and i love that card XD. I remember having it on area or something when i play that and trying to make it work with the free izzit cards I had. It is a fun card but honestly very surprise they reprint it as outside the name its underwhelming (still love it just for how silly the name is and trying to make it work)

They seem big into reprints lately, especially when it comes to secret lairs and bonus sheets. I suspect power level isn't something they're really looking at, rather just whatever they can make work. Great to discover it though! I love it now!

Congrats on getting this box as a "gift". It's so cool especially if money is tight. I quite enjoyed this video, your highlights of some cards and your thoughts during the deckbuilding process! Would like to see more of this in the future. Getting 4 Decks out of 12 Packs is great. Never thought of this, now I want to try it out once Bloomburrow comes around. Would love to do this for MH3 but that's probably to expensive for me.

Yeah my channel's not monetized and my patreon is set up but not active yet, so I'm not going to turn down free cards haha. I'm hoping to do more, but I want to spread them out a bit. I plan on coming back to both this box and the double feature one I opened, and attempting to make a commander deck out of a limited number of packs again. I can't imagine I'll succeed!

I enjoy these videos seeing what sort of decks you put together, maybe building a commander deck would be cool. Hope you get sent more stuff in the future

That's the plan. I was literally thinking of opening a few more packs from this box for a commander deck probably in a couple of weeks

I will say that I want to watch an aliens RPG video if they sent a book from there, just interested in learning new systems! Also I think that your golgari deck is actually the strongest in a draft context, because OTJ is a set that rewards having higher costed bombs and aggroing through a low curve doesn't work as well Also really good luck with the cards you got! Mana drain, jace, bonny pal, slickshot...

Yeah, it was crazy. If this had come directly from WotC I would have questioned whether maybe they'd stacked contents of the packs to make them look good. Also, if I'm ever in a position to start a second or third channel, I might very well cover some RPG stuff, or maybe even a lets play. Currently though, it's just me (and I guess Mr Hands) and these videos take A LOT of time haha

Also, that's an awesome pull on the Vaultborn Tyrant in pack 5!

Oh yeah, I'm aware. What I said "All along" I meant more of the "so and so was so and so all along" trope for the narrative of this set. Just a weird choice, it's a multiverse. He could just of easily have used a fake name and worn a mask. The Emperor achieved the same results by just wearing a big hat

I have a standard mounts deck which I love. Also went undefeated in a draft with GW mounts. Good picks. I think the set will age well.

I suspect we'll see that design space explored but in other ways, and (like you say) with new names. Like cards that care about Learning (which is every time you draw a card or sacrifice an artifact or something for instance)

I was certain (nearly) that it was going to be big in multiple formats but apperently its not even good enough for standard..

I think it's good, but it's hard to judge power level of any card now days. Every new sets seems to be even more busted than the last, and each sets word count on cards keep growing and growing. But, like I said in the video, I think OTJ's done a good job of incorporating creatures into decks that have a spell focus. Slickshot Show-Off is a good example of it. I like it, and you're right, it should be massive in lots of formats. A sign of the times that it's not

Haha, thank you. This vid's not doing so hot. I suspect this is the downside to it being a gift and not like an officially sponsored review box or whatever. Came in a little after Thunder Junction hype had died down seemingly. Oh well! Next week I ramble about Innistrad!

🎉🎉🎉 This is incredible, I often struggle to even figure out how to work out the... Mechanics... Of what I'm meant to be doing when building a deck. You just diving syraight in and finding the best bits like this is mind blowing stuff! Would you consider doing a breakdown of some of the classic older decks, their win Co editions and why they would be so effective? Or a critique of some of your own investions
