All of the special stuff has cues to tell you which one is coming. So you basically can do it with your eyes closed if you have a good memory of the cues..

It amazes me that, even though I've been on a hiatus from this game (or even recording/streaming in general) and have been dethroned for a while, you all are STILL coming to see this video and share your excitement and support. Just wanted to say I love you all. I've been looking for a reason to come back and try my hardest at something new.

@@MasDouc ​True, there aren't any mistakes, but there are still some things I could have done to earn more points: 1) Perfect turns. I definitely missed a few in 9-27+ and ∞, even some optional ones in the earlier stages. 2) Delayed pounds on thumps. If timed correctly you'll kill an extra tentacle to earn another 50 points. I think there's only one frame where that's possible, so it's *very* timing-specific. You'll see me do this at the 0:27 mark. 3) Optimize routing. A level's default route (hitting all red bars, flying through all rings, etc.) isn't going to max out your score. Under specific circumstances and at certain parts of every level, you are better off flying over red bars, skipping certain rings, or making consecutive jumps for infinite flight to create more bonus thumps that would otherwise not exist. You can find other videos on 9+ with higher scores that will show this.

Having experienced the relentless fusillade of inputs that is the regular ol' level 9 without a plus, i can safely say that i am fucking baffled that this is even possible, and would in fact not have believed it if it wasn't for the video before my very eyes. Well played sir, well played. You didn't just beat it, you fucking manhandled it!

Watching this in the middle of 2020. I still love that it feels like the very final boss couldn't stop you with its giant skull monster, so it tried everything in its own power to stop you, even altering the speed. When you beat him... It's almost like the game was saying, "this isn't supposed to happen", and it just... Stops. No after ending scene, no continuation, you just get to the very end of the light, and suddenly... Nothing.

I always thought about this even the very first time i saw gameplay footage of this game. Its just feel like it tells a story... When you get to the end, you expect something to happend but no... there's nothing. Like if the game telling you: " you wanted to get to the end so bad? Here you go, your "end" is here."

Definitely helps that the levels are static, if they were dynamic at these kinds of speeds it'd have to be a good bit easier to be possible to perfect.

Yeah, I've done 9+ a number of times. After a while you start remembering the sequences of stuff that come at you, which makes it a lot less dependent on reflexes and speed and more about remembering the rhythm. AFAIK the only part in the game that is random and not static is the mid-level boss on level 6, and still, that's just random, occuring sequences taken from level 6 being thrown at you.

This game is free with on ps4 and ps5 en I had to see what a perfect run looks like in the ending level. This is just insane!😵

OK, holy shit, utmost respect for this run. I just beat Level 9 for the first time and just passing with a "B" was good enough for me. But this here is absolutely insane; I can only imagine the time and effort put in to achieve such a feat. I adore this game (besides Level ∞) and commend you once again. Damn.

Beating this game was probably the coolest thing I've ever done gaming, the final bosses are just so epic

Someday I'll catch up, I'm at #7 on the steam leaderboard for 9+. Still haven't even managed to S it yet, but it'll come.

Thanks for posting these. Seeing your scores up there on day 1 made me wonder if you were an employee or something. Seeing how you prioritize bars vs kills is really helpful. Executing, of course is a different question.

For most of us, it would certainly be faster, to get all the knowlegde needed, to build a robot, that can do that level. Respect and appreciation for that enormous performance! Congratulations!!

I can’t even IMAGINE how it’s like seeing this in the eyes of those playing through this level in the Pocket Edition of Thumper! I can practically see those dang screenshot cracked after being tapped so ferociously constantly on this one! Or heck, imagine trying to play this stage on the Stadia version of the game! Trying to get through this one with the extra worry of any buffering of any sort?! That practically adds to the dread that comes from playing through this! Bloody heck, man…

I just got all S rank on levels 1 thru 4.. watching this I'm very worried about higher levels 🥴 But I'm learning a lot from watching this, you are an absolute BEAST! I haven't been doing the UP and Fly , then pound down move hardly at all. Now I know why the game is called Thumper lol

I love that the skill gap in this game is so massive that I'm 10th on the PS4 leaderboards, and you still have 2 million more points than me in the regular campaign. Super impressive man, I finally came to watch this after trying to just beat this damn level too many times to no avail.

this is the closest I am ever going to get to listening to the thumper levels.

My ps5 doesnt let me record any thumper vr footage, anyone know why? It just says when i go to save a clip “cant record this content”.

Yar, this is the base 4x speed! No speed up here. You can confirm by looking at the start of the video, which shows the game at normal speed before it increases when the 4x multiplier is reached. With plenty of practice your muscle memory will kick in and you'll breeze through it like it's second nature. Doubting yourself will only serve to paralyze you! :3

This game gives me a crazy adrenaline rush when i play it, recently i just got back into it, and i can never expect to be as good as this, though then again i never expected to be as good as i am now (which is still pretty decently placed on the leaderboards anyway)

InfinityRift it seems that the diamond youre fighting against is what's "writing" out the road before you. It only makes sense that the properties of the road are altered when the diamond is disturbed, and that the road ends when the diamond is destroyed and no longer able to "write" the road. Just a theory.
