This is is one of the most aggressive games I've ever seen.

just got to level 4 in this game. my honest review; as someone that isn't really into Rhythm games....its VERY good. 9.5/10. It combines rhythm gaming with the feeling of racing and has bosses, it has just a base number of moves but the physics is clean and it feels great, the music and sound design it top notch throughout and the game introduces enough variation in design to stay interesting.

I have the game too and this is a great review. Just got done with level 4 and nearly rage quit on the boss, but once you get the rhythm down of a sequence you can just about do it with your eyes closed.

I love Rythm games in general, but I like how different this is - it's so intense and the music is so meaty and percussion-y it's trancelike!

so I played a demo of this by accident in best buy, and I've been waiting for this game to come out ever since. IT'S SO GOOD!!!!

I was wondering about that. It's fantastic, especially after the Amplitude remake's soundtrack which was mostly rubbish.

A very intense experience! "Rhythm violence" is a very interesting thing in Thumper. I know i am looking forward to more!

I beat this game last night and I felt out of breath

That was so entrancing.

It looks really cool but I can't imagine playing this with a VR headset. These crazy visuals are bound to give you at least a headache, if not a seizure.

***** From what I hear, the VR experience wildly differs for each individual. Some people can't play anything for more than 15 minutes, others can play the craziest stuff for hours and nothing happens to them. My head starts to hurt after about 30 minutes of watching regular Thumper, so I don't think the VR version would work for me personally. :-/

Just started and you basically have to get this good to even be in level 4.

Big improvement music-wise on the Amplitude remake. Love the soundtrack even though I haven't heard much Lightning Bolt or solo offshoot stuff.

PSVR Ps4pro mode native 4K gameplay brought me here.

I only play this on weed in VR. I feel like I traveled across the universe playing this game. The visuals are outstanding and it is very hypnotic. The boss battles are unreal. When I first saw this big demonic head in front of me it bugged me out. I was like hoollllyyy shit where the fuck am I? Did I mention I only play this high?

So I was googling for "best music driven games 2016" and got a gamespot link as top link. Thumper was top listed there with a 9/superb. googling for thumper gameplay gave me your march 4 2015 vid which already looked iteresting and autoplay gave me this one as next. So... I watched and made these conclusions 1: looks awesome 2: I really hope more tracks are included 3: in all it's "simplicity it lookds dang hard to play 4: I must have this (placed on wishlist already of course, no funds for a new game atm) will watch some more vids (a lvl 9 vid is up next in autoplay) but it seems that 9 is well deserved, this is "controller is a must" game I assume?

That video was way more relaxing than it had any right to be

its so hard to watch him fail. it punches u in the heart when he does fail...

omg I got so tense seeing this. playing this would be my worst nightmare cause the music is so good! It sounds so cool when your actions add to the actual music rather just reacting to it (impossible game, geometry dash, guitar hero). BECAUSE of that this so painful when you mess up!
