    @@zacharybecker8228 I am literally re-reading Throne of Chaos and no, that's just objectively wrong. Tamurkhan lost because he refused to give up the siege of Nuln after taking massive casualties and having the Kurgan and Chaos Dwarfs abandon him. What I think you're mistaken about is the final ritual he goes through where he kills Bubebolos. The ritual wrecks his ogre body, but at the same time he was ascending to daemonhood. Quote: "Tamurkhan struggled up, his wrecked ogre body bloating and distending, the maggot worm within shuddering and pulsing. There was very little left of mortal flesh, however tainted, within him now, and when the daemon stain flowed as far as the great city and the countless legions of plague brought death to the streets, there would be nothing mortal left of him at all" So the ruination of his ogre body was completely deliberate, it was how he was going to become a daemon prince. And then he STILL gives it up to try to take Bruckner's body. Quote: "The obscene creature lurched forth like a striking cobra and fastened itself over Theodore Bruckner's terrified face. (...) The talisman around Bruckner's neck burst into furious life, like a burning star unleashed in the night. In a roaring flash there was nothing but blackened crumbling bone where the Countess Emmanuelle's champion had stood, and in an instant later even that had been consumed, and Tamurkhan the Maggot Lord along with it". So you see the wrecking of the ogre body was done on purpose to let Tamurkhan become a daemon prince and then after the ogre body was destroyed Tamurkhan did what he always does and tried to jump host.

    They were almost there with Nurgle's building infrastructure. I am 1000% ok with them leaving the military buildings as they are. It's a cool concept and thematically, it falls into a crop cycle mindset which is definitely awesome. As for the infrastructure buildings, they needed to take it one step further. The harvesting idea comes to mind as well. These building chains are built in a straight line. You should be rewarded with reaching the end of the line for the building chain with two options. A: Leave the improved building as is and reap the passive rewards it provides. OR B: Harvest the building, which reduces it back to tier one but provides you a substantial boon, whether that be a large sum of money, a permanent bonus to a unit type, a powerful item, etc. I might be over my skis here, but that would solidify Nurgle as a faction and make them feel unique to play whilst also giving a perk/cost approach to their campaign. As for getting this done technically speaking (outside of the UI changes and whatnot.), you could add a button next to the "deconstruct building" that gives you a second option called "harvest". Then tie one of the aforementioned boons to the button and bingo bango we have ourselves a thematic and satisfying mechanic that players can enjoy.

    @@TheTank1110 is link them to specific building types would make it the most simple, intuitive and yet still rewarding. Short on cash? Harvest one of your tier 5 money buildings. Need more replenishment for your armies permanently? Harvest your tier 5 growth building for a permanent 1% boost to casualty replenishment. Want to strengthen one of your lords with some foul arcane equipment? Harvest your tier 5 corruption building to earn an awesome armor/weapon/item set (probably blue rarity to avoid having to make tons of unique items.) I’m sure they could come up with something better but it’s a start.

    Thank goodness we wont have another character that turns into skarbrand. Glad to see the mechanic is focused on gathering multiple types of chieftains and units from those races. Hope to see this some how given to Archaon because he had the MOST “chieftains”

    I will argue that cancer is in the domain of Tzeentch, not Nurgle. Since cancer isn't a disease in the traditional sense, but rather your cells malfunctioning and mutating, which is some Tzeentch shit.

    There was no skill expression in being hamstrung by terrible economy due to the way the Nurgle buildings worked. Having a dedicated building for economy instead of three useless buildings and the basic military speed up building is better IMO... As long as it's balanced correctly. Nurgle never struck me as a super aggressive sacking playstyle like Khorne. They should be like the inexorable tide, spreading forth from their infected and infested lands.

    @@anthonykrejci9515 while I wouldn't exactly call them the sack faction there is the point that sacking is definitely more in Nurgle's ballpark than Khorne's. sacking and other stuff that leaves your opponents alive can help with spreading plagues. Khorne seems more razing focused, just killing absolutely everyone.

    I'm convicted that the UI change was done just to show to upper management at Alphabet that the dozens of "UI developers" that are making 150k+ serve some purpose.     I kinda like the comments being on the side. I'm sorta used to chat being there during streams and it lets you comment or scroll comments while watching the video. But I've never liked recommended videos being part of the UI at all. Either it shows me stuff I don't care about or it shows me old videos from channels I subscribe to regardless of if I watched them already or not. It's incredibly rare for it to recommend something I actually want to click on.

    Partial removal of cyclical buildings is a good thing. I understand the complaint about homogenisation but ultimately fun has to come before uniqueness in terms of gameplay.

    @@honorguard7616 they mention in the post that it applies to Ku'gath (who is also seemingly getting a faction rework to focus more on the new plague mechanics), Festus, and Tamurkhan curious that they haven't mentioned Epidemius, despite him being in the trailer and the fact that they've supposedly allowed some youtubers to confirm that he is the FLC LL. maybe he gets something different (since while Ku'gath, Festus, and most other Nurgle characters tend to experiment with plagues Epidemius's job is to document and record them). in the post CA acted like he was some kind of unrevealed secret.

    How I would handle cults is that depending on corruption levels in the area they are in they can do different things: Low corruption could be something like spawn an army of the targets faction that will try to take over the city and became an independent faction, stronger corruption will spawn your army that you can try to take over the city with while max corruption allows you to straight up take over the city. All should have some sort of cost ofc.

    It surprises me that after overhauling the chaos corruption mechanics and it's effects on the world for Total Warhammer 3, the only faction that really used it a lot was Khorne for it's minor settlement mechanics. It seems like the odvious choice to have the cyclical buildings directly interact and be fed by Nurgle Corruption, which in turn gives you more resources to expend in battle and campaign options to in turn spread more corruption. Therefore creating a feedback loop in the 2 modes of gameplay which creates tighter more rewarding gameplay loops

    Slaanesh also uses corruption a fair amount since it helps to corrupt Humans, Beastmen, and Elves in order to turn them into your vassals. and Tzeentch gets a little use out of it since it means that the Winds of Magic are more likely to change and more likely to increase when changing, which is important for Tzeentch since they are rather magic focused in battle and some of their other mechanics are based around the Winds of Magic. Nurgle's total use for their corruption is extra plague time (useful if your spreading plagues within your own empire but not great for using them against your enemies) and growth (something Nurgle does not lack from other sources). it's more of a passive thing that's just there instead of something that you're actively encouraged to spread.

    Funnily enough the faction that spreads and gets the most out of chaos corruption is the Dark Elves Morathi, (Cult of Pleasure I think), they get bonuses to slaves, control and economy and love to spread it and get it to max. Throw in insane slave uses, rushing buildings, easy control, gold etc. they just go ham and steam roll so easy with shade spam turn 2 onwards

    @saintpres4ge533 oh ya. The none demon factions get the most out of corruption. Skaven and Vampire Coast have so much more involved corruption mechanics than the demons. And as you said even Morathi gets more out of Chaos corruption than most Chaos factions

    @@Never_heart in the case of the Skaven they've always had a bit more of an interesting relationship with corruption, even before game 3 changed how corruption worked, simply because Skaven corruption simply isn't a straight up benefit for them, they have good reason to keep other corruption low and leave things untainted (or just whatever corruption was already there)

    As for more immersive demons of chaos mechaniscs, I hope they will rework recruitment for high tier demons. Unlocking and recruiting powerful demons should not be based on the same mechanic as for most other races, i.e. via building certain tier 4-5 buldings but should rather be tied to the god specific currency (skulls, worshippers etc). So you would have to spend these currencies to unlock capacity for these demons (think chaos dwarves) and their upkeep should also be in said special demonic currencies. Furthermore, recruitment should be instanteous and global, either tied to sufficient winds of magic or corruption.

    I feel like an interesting economy game for factions like Chaos Dwarves, Dwarves and Skaven make sense but for chaos factions, 'build the money building' is good enough for me because then you can focus entirely on growing your armies and being a major threat to the world without balancing checkbooks. Chaos Dwarves have a very industrial, economic theme but stuff like Khorne and Nurgle are just "blood for the blood god, plagues for the plaguefather"

    I kinda like the changes for Nurgle and I'd love to see the old cauldron being moved over to clan pestilens. I mostly only had two big gripes with Nurgle:. 1- Early game recruitment is shit 2- That tech tree is horrible Changing those two things is good enough for me

    It was quite weird how nurgle’s economy would fluctuate turn to turn. It was kinda cool, but very hard to predict, and I’d often stray into the red unexpectedly because of it. So it makes sense to me that they’d change the economy buildings to be static. Makes it more playable. Nurgle’s saving grace up to this point has been access to Soulgrinders at tier 3. I wonder if they’re going to change that? 😂

    I like the way nurgle seems like it will be more you start off with a core army that you grow on the move ragher than just building fat stacks and then going out

    I wish plagues mattered more in the setting. I rarely find settlements I can't just smash through with my main host in the late game. Throwing a plague on it doesn't really feel like it helps. I wish it would have really massive debuffs but have random mutations (as it goes host to host and evolves) adding some fun OR make true fortified settlements be really tough nuts to crack for everyone. Having a plague soften it up with massive attrition seems like the best way to deal with them.

    So I would say that some parts of the game lately have been feeling simplified and easy on very hard. I take issue with already basically winning the campaign before I’ve had time to build a tier 5 capital, but that probably just means I need to upgrade the difficulty. This sentiment feels the same for any race campaign lately. I’m still happy to see Nurgle getting an improvement. I feel like I’ve been holding off on any Nurgle, Empire or Dwarf campaigns until the update comes.

    I don’t get the immunity period for plagues, it’ll be fine for players but the AI already basically suffers no attrition damage as part of their cheats and the debuffs are meant to provide boosts to nurgles slow and restricted playstyle especially in relation to sieges and facing multiple armies

    For me personally, I'm really happy with the changes they are implementing, having static buildings is really useful especially for economy, a lot less punishing, hopefully they have added garrison buildings as well

    Honestly i'm glad were getting some changes for nurgle, but i am a bit dissapointed some buildings are becoming static, but i'm happy as could be to hear units will FINALLY not be recruited at 30% health and for way to damn expensive. The new plague stuff sounds fun asf, and i'm curious how grimhammer will change this when the mod gets updated for it

    Kugath is one of my favorite legendary lords and Nurgle my favorite chaos faction. While I agree homogenization isn't good, I feel like tying growth and economy to the cyclical nature, while cool, felt more punishing than rewarding. Every turn felt like it would have something different and made understanding the actual strengths of your economy more trouble than it was worth. However, I do think there is a middle ground. Maybe having a fixed income, but when the plant goes through a full cycle, it gives a chunk of money or infestation or something.

    The problem with the cyclical buildings is that you never get to see the elite units. Like great unclean ones end up basically impossible to get for example .

    I am extremely happy with everything in the rework. Only thing missing was reworking the unholy manifestations and great game, but thats an overall Demons issue. Really really exited. Only sad thing is I wish they had given Tamurkhan atleast 1 more mechanic even if small.

    I think infestation could've been interesting for a battle-only ability. If he dies, and a lord or hero is nearby, they take X amount of damage, and if that kills them, he gets their body on 1/4HP or something. Goes back to normal for next battle. Not very consistent, so I see why they wouldn't, but it would have been an interesting mechanic.

    I think what the great game should be is the god aligned factions constantly declaring war and peace with each other based on what is happening on the campaign (combined faction strength, corruption, ect) So, diplomacy with other god aligned factions is completely out of your control would be thematic but could be a really unfun mechanic Like, if you get swarmed by the other 3 gods or your 1 turn from wiping kyros out and peace is declared and you don't know when you can finish the fight

    plague ogres will just be more elite, armor piercing ogre bulls with poison. maybe more akin to ironguts, but nothing really unique or special outside of models/animations. Epidemius will be his own vid(s)
