Long-time watcher, first-time commenter. Your work and attention to detail have inspired me so much that I now am a weekend woodworker. Your videos bring such serenity to my life that I watch them for meditation. Please don’t change your exceptional format. Love your dry sense of humor and your focus on the work (no drama, no bs, no fluff). Thank you!

Yes, don’t haul it down stairs. Stairs are evil. They break bones.

@@mirothiel8039I fell on the stairs last night! Damn stairs. I hope you heal quick! 😢
I have no substantive interest in refurbished furniture but I love to watch these for the editing, pace, and narrative. It’s a vibe. A relaxing one.
The cabinet looks stunning, agree with bringing tones a tad closer to unify. What floors me is how you can work in such cold! My basement shop rarely goes under 60 F, I will lug stuff outside if it's over 32 F - but subzero - man, you're motivated!

Inkwell, Or crazy!
Genius idea to ditch the handles and go with the press latches. The top of this piece turned out absolutely beautiful. You never cease to amaze me, Dashner. I watch dozens of these kinds of videos, but I save yours for those times when I am completely undisturbed and can watch without distractions. Kind of like a guilty treat. Love your work.

Agreed! Also, what happened to the bass guitar? 🤔
I’m pretty sure that piece was worth $11. Another beautiful transformation!

👏👏👏👏Bravo! Well said!
I absolutely LOVE the door fronts. It's such a lovely piece.Thank you for bringing back to it's true self.
That chunky style is called Brutalism. Most people hate it but that cabinet looks really nice.
Happy New Year. I was walking around saying “10 minutes to Dashner” in my best Rainman imitation. The bookended grain on back is lovely. Well done my friend!
Considering the start state of this piece, you worked miracles on this. The finish is unified, love just nixing the knobs and going with hidden hardware to let the door pattern show, and love getting rid of the painted parts to stain. I was afraid that the top was too far gone. It looks like a solid cabinet. Great job! Thanks for all the content. Happy New Year! 👍
Who coulda think you’d bring this back from near death? It’s gorgeous!
Thanks for enduring the cold to create content for us. You did it again! The piece turned out beautifully. Your videos are so nicely relaxed and educational. Looking foreward to the new year of your videos.
As a former Minneapolitan for many decades, recall when -3/-6 could feel downright balmy! Above 32? If sunny, ditch the jacket and break out the lawn chairs. :) Perhaps grab a hose, rinse the snow and salt off the cars. The Lane piece turned out better than I anticipated but, no surprise, you worked your usual Dashner magic. Looking forward to what you have in store for 2023. Happy New Year!
I believe that Lane piece was worth $11.00. Yes, it was a lot of work, but it turned out very nice. You did a excellent job. As an interior designer, I am interested in what the original handles looked like. However, with the pattern on the front doors, I can understand you wanting to put the “just touch” the doors and allowing them to spring open hardware on. Still a handsome piece of furniture. Carol from California
I love the authentic cold weather 'sniffles' that are made in between the sentences. Evidence of the Minnesota winter.
Another truly beautiful restoration! Your attention to detail is amazing to watch. In today’s world, craftsmen like you are few and hard to find. I just enjoy the peacefulness and calm of seeing you work and hearing your voice. It soothes my soul. Thank you
This channel is my new favorite jam.
I think it came out beautifully! And right in line with many modern interior design trends.

Yes, the very high end stuff now., so extremely simple it would fit with MANY styles.
Dashy says, I paid too much and don't think I will be able to save it. Just to BUILD drama and suspense. I did not fall for it for a second. DASHY, DASHY HE'S OUR MAN. IF DASH CAN'S SAVE IT NOBODY CAN. So I had NO doubts. I didn't see that it had legs and at the very end it does have a skirt but it is recessed way far in. Massively GORGE, Dash. You never disappoint. THANKS.
Another great video to start the year! Your measured approach shows that you not only know your subject but also are a master editor. The clarity of detail and techniques you manage to show without rushing a viewer who wants to learn -- simply amazing. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Interesting design. I have never seen this Lane design before. Great job!
I can't imagine those temperatures and I've never seen or experienced that much snow. D you're the best at restoration and explaining the process. I appreciate you so much.
I love how the heat gun peeled that paint. Love your videos and your work. I've learned a lot from you.
The scraping of the paint with the heat gun was so satisfying. You should upload that as a short and with some Q&A narration alongside
Bravo, Dash! I can't believe your tenacity for mid-mod restoration in positively arctic temperatures. Thanks for providing us with such great content.
Sheesh. You sure brought THAT one back from the dead. Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. This one was tougher. Great job.
Turned out much better than I expected. It was nice that whoever painted it did so over the old finish so paint removal was easier.
I’m looking forward to it. I have two mid century bedside drawers/ end tables that I’ve had since childhood, and I want to refinish them. They’re not quite this bad, but they’ll be a challenge for someone who has only ever stained finished furniture, not done any refinishing!

👏👏👏👏👏👏Do it! They will look amazing with any attempt/attention and you will probably enjoy the process of saving them. Sentimental too!😊
You endlessly impress me with your willingness to work outside in the snow...and the magnificent work you do in those temperatures! Astonishing. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Turned out really nice.
Love to see I’m not alone in working outside in these Minnesota winters 😂
Another successful resurrection: well done, well done. Thanks for showing us!
very interesting paneling on the doors, never seen anything like it. Happy you stained that one light piece, it did'nt work. Sending you best wishes for the new year, we are lucky to have you here on the KZreads
I think I would have left some type of door handles on as they can really embellish a piece, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and whatnot. Looks good!
I realize that this suggestion would change the character/design of the piece a bit, but might have been possible to remount the doors upside down to minimize the appearance of the screw holes from the handle? That being said, I really do like your final result. You do such good work.
The push mechanism for the doors is satisfying 😌 Lovely little side table.

As you're attaching the press latches to the underside of the top, I had to think you'd flip the cabinet upside down and let gravity do the job of holding them against the surface. Another great restoration, I've learned almost everything I know about refinishing from your channel and learn another new technique/trick/repair method with each video.
I wonder if you could find an old Lane catalog to see what the original door handles looked like. Might still be able to find a similar replacement. Nice job on the restoration. Thanks for sharing!
That cabinet looks fabulous! Great job!

Love your content. Just started a restoration channel myself. Doing God's work saving these pieces and giving them a 2nd chance at life! Cheers!
Beautiful veneer. Yes definitely looks 70s by the style of those wood patterns. Came out great. Happy New Year to you and a better 2023! Let's keep refinishing. 👍

And retro 70s is all the rage now…much to the dismay of those of us who went through it the first time, lol! It should sell quickly at his shop.
You make it look easy!!
Perfectly timed as I just won a Lane coffee table at auction. Yours turned out beautifully. Thanks for the education and motivation. I have been subscribed for years and Minneapolis seemed like a far off very cold place. Now my son and his family live there (near Wisconsin) and I fully understand your weather challenges. Thank you for all of your time and effort!
I always enjoy your work!
Wow, that turned out better than I expected. Nice work! And -- my sister lives in Prior Lake, so I'm very familiar with the winter weather woes of MN.
Nice to see such a sad piece returned to beauty.
By showing us the all-round view one discovers the concept. A lovely piece of furniture nice to appreciate from all your sides. It has found back his former beauty!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Your work always results in things of beauty.
Even just removing that ghastly white paint, that alone made it look 150 percent better; the end result is, of course, distinctive and very attractive.
Happy New Year. My new year's wish for you is a good all weather workshop! Always enjoy your projects.
A really cool restoration! Its time for me to also find a new item to fix and flip!!
Another beautiful piece of furniture saved! Well done.🎉
You find such amazing mid-century pieces!
A vast improvement! Love the color. You did it❣
Good lord you are a brave lunatic to work in that cold. I can't wait to get my MCAT exam out of the way in a couple weeks and then finish fixing my mini so I can use my garage again, because I've got a dining set with lots of dog chewing damage to restore!
maybe turn the doors inside out? would look even better finished :)

What a great little piece! Thanks for rescuing it!!
Great job, Have a Happy 2023 !!!.
It always surprises me how they turn out so good! Paint, odd wood colors, holes from hardware…you solved every problem.
Good looking cabinet. It is so much better without the white paint. The top turned out great.
Well, that's another piece that you saved and made useful and beautiful again. It's always a quiet joy to watch your videos - thank you, and Happy New Year!
Looks amazing as always, Happy New Year!
Another nice piece of work. Well done👏👏👍
What a beautiful piece!
The most satisfying use of a heat gun that I have ever seen. 👍🏻
Great job. It looks very nice.
That turned out nice.
As always beautiful. I love those patches! Easier to wipe down the doors! Thank you for braving the cold to do this for us. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Happy New Year to a patient soul that sees value in things others have given up on.
Just beautiful
A nice make over there. I am always appalled that some people have the bad taste to paint over handsome wood-grained furniture.
That has come out really nice.
That's a nice cabinet. Good Job!!
It's gorgeous.
That is a wonderful resurrection from the near death of this piece,,,
Awesome. Yet again!
Beautiful great job.
looks great!
Wow! That cleaned up so quick for you! The heat gun, scraping and sanding all worked well
As always masterfully done! Minnesota is home for me as well and I don’t know how you work outside when it’s that darn cold 😊!
😊 love it , at first from the photo it looked like a massive piece but it is really quite cute! You’ve inspired me to look for a little project at the second hand stores.
Fun project to watch you complete.
Great job!!
