good vid. great to see them on the track and wish more people had the patience to do what you're doing. I'd be keen to see how the slot machine compares.

Thank you. I will have an update mid to late January regarding the 21.5T Slot Machine. I just need the Helix 21.5T race experience so I can give my notes on the HW, SM, and Helix in the 21.5T. I am a little behind. Unfortunatly, the last winter race had to be postponed to mid January due to rain.

The lap times were practically the same with all 3 motors regardless of timing. I would run the motor that you are most consistent with which is sometimes the motor which has the smoother power band like the V2.

You are right. You hit a key thing: power band. Gearing will matter most with each. And you are right, the V2 is still a great option. It is smooth.

Thanks for the video, doing my research and plan so this really helped. Do you have any recommendation for an ESC, or just the ESC specs, I should look for when pairing with these kind of motors?

I just run a Hobbywing Justock esc with most of my cars and my buggy. I just do spec racing and there is not difference between it and the XR10 or Maclan Pro160 since we run blinki.

Nice. Didn't know you were local to me. If you are ever hungry and need pizza I'm your guy lol. Love nor cal I'm going to be racing there soon too. I'm torn on which motor to run for 17.5.

I do not know if there is a big difference between the Helix and the HW. I really like them both and they perform very similar. In all the time I ran them both, I really cannot tell which is better.

Great run video geez that’s tough one. They all seem to run very crisp smooth like u said price point matters. But to choose hobbywing my choice

They are so close it almost comes down to looks. I know it sounds silly, but HW has gotten so good.

I have yet to test the V4. The V3 is similar to an EcoPower motor.

the whole gear up vs gear down thing. i rather gear down and get the helix. if you throw a larger pinion on the hobbywing to try to get the same speed as the helix then you will be creating more heat. if the helix is "too fast" (whatever that means) or you want more torque and you throw a smaller pinion on it temps can only go down.
