gasp. Pure artistry in every detail from top to bottom (the bells on the heels)- including the talented models. Fashion as sculpture. Fashion as statement. Fashion as inspiration. The crooked wigs. The monochrome vibes. The light detail of stripe. The fingernails. The touch of sparkle. All of it. This is Haute Couture at it's best.

This is - by Thom Browne standards - quite restrained. Unlike his other shows, there are pieces that could actually be worn. Some of the beaded work is beautiful and the embroidery is exquisite. It's not as wacky as other shows, but I prefer this blend of clothes-from-another-planet and elegant wearable looks. Pretty amazing, Thom! Related thought: Why don't they do this show in the afternoon for the fashion press and invited guests - then do the same show in the evening with tickets for sale? This is theater and I would pay $200 - $300 to see it. Maybe make back some of the money that goes into a production like this.

So creative, original, Gorgeous, like a visual poem. Multiple shades of Grey, multiple stripe patterns, contrasts of flat and shiny, plaids vs stripes, yet amazingly cohesive, The silhouette as well as the sculptural design work is intriguing. The textiles are stunning. The light use of Neon make up with Art deco lines, whispers of a marriage between the future and the past. It evokes sadness, and yet, it is whimsical and playful. This is in my top 5, favorite runways that I have ever seen.

Those models are total pros to be able to walk in those shoes. This was a visual painting come to life. Stunning.
I love his style and patterns. Very sharp! And don’t get me started with the shoes and purses. SIGN ME UP PLEASE.
I love those full length coats, there were some beautiful blazers, skirts and gorgeous bags. In between the theatre and surreal story, there are beautiful wearable items. ❤ I understand the need to push the boundaries but throught the footwear held things back. I held my breath more than once thinking a model was going to topple over. The poor ergonomics of the shoe design interfered with posture.

Perhaps the construction of the pieced deserve respect. However, the show comes across as Cirque du Soleil on a depressed acid trip if not A Clockwork Orange sans the violence. If the references are historical, they line up with the pieces. Overly depressing. Granted, the art aspect is admirable, this can impact the mental and emotional well-being of some with the overkill of gray. Kudos to the obes that sat through the whole show. 👏🏻
Can we take a moment to appreciate how many hours of work the seamstresses have put into all these wonderful creations ❤ Bravo 👍👏❤
Interesting, but I get a feeling of a sad dystopian society trying very hard not to fall face first while wearing incredibly awkward shoes. Love the handbags.

I see what you mean. But let's not forget that this is a fashion show, and its main purpose is not necessarily to be appealing. In fact, its main aim is to be contemporary, capturing those aspects that have marked our present, regardless of whether good or bad, and putting them together through the means of fashion. Just like a contemporary painting or installation. For example, while I agree with your feeling about it, all I can see here is still extreme beauty and artistry, it's almost cinematic, the slow movements, the colours, the setting. I can see past, present and future blending in with one another.

Thom is unique in that he has created an aesthetic that no other designer has - and it sells, that's why he's still in business. The Saville Row suit, and historical European influences, in the shape of the clothes, the wigs and make up ( referring to his other shows too ), he is truly "western" in his style. No influences from Asia/Africa etc He has found his niche in fashion.

Sitting practically the whole time on a luggage, Alek Wek looked bored and seemingly thinking, "why me?" 😄😆😂 Is it just me who noticed that the looks are endlessly repetitive and probably only use less than a dozen patterns? Still, I love the presentation, especially because the clothes parade cheekily to my favorite classical music selections. Anyway, stripped of the models' cartoonishly theatrical makeup and hairstyles, the collection has all the recognizable Thom Browne signature mix of tailored pieces in various proportions and well-chosen fabrics. Who said: it is hight of Stupidity!!??
not the intended concept at all, but to me this brings to mind a very specific story for me. It's a scene of two people saying goodbye on a dock on a foggy morning, with one of them about to make a long ocean voyage. the two people exchange what can possibly be their last moments together as passers-by dressed solemnly board the ship. there is the lingering, unspoken fear that over time they'll lead separate lives and forget each other's faces and eventually become as strange to each other as the other people and birds in the scene all dressed in grey. with every toll of the bell, the hour of departure draws nearer. the waves churn into a foam of inexpressible things caught in their throats. The person left behind comes back to the dock often to sit there and watch the ocean, birds, and other people getting on ships. life goes on, but this ocean scene never changes. but then again I feel like you could write a million melancholy stories about the color grey and the sea.
WOW WOW WOW.
Удивительное, потрясающее шоу. Настоящее представление.💜
