This video is soooo full of wonderful ideas - toilet paper roll to clean your brush, heat tool tips and that instant coffee turned paint pan is a MUST do! Love love love your colors for your Spring journal, so vibrant and inviting and FUN! Oooh and the edges are painted too! Oh and then that YELLOW! Be still my 80s heart!!! 😍🛼🌈🦄 I mean you seriously cannot go wrong with that color combo. That smiley face is EVERYTHING! Maybe it’s a secret message from Bob Ross who was delighted to see you painting? 🤣 Really enjoy hanging out with you for these process videos, like we’re crafting together! Sending lots of love and hugs to you and Bitsy from Sophia and I! ❤🐶✨🌿🌈💕

Hey Catherine, so glad you enjoyed the video. I'm just putting the finishing touches on a color-mixing workshop series on my Patreon page if you're interested. It's called "Get to Know YOUR Palette", not only does it help with color-mixing but it also is good practice for getting to know water-to-paint ratios, get to know your brushes a bit, best practices (set up, supplies, etc.) all helping in learning to control watercolor without having the pressure of "producing art". Kind of like playing the scales while learning piano helps build muscle memory so when one plays a concert, those good habits are on auto pilot and one can just focus on the music. It's on the $25/month tier right now before I move it over to another platform...here's the link: www.patreon.com/collection/471840

love swatches so much, and these so much💜💙💜 I know what u mean. I stopped watching one channel cuz she proposed the ideas as her own always. If someone mentioned it on fb or youtube they got blocked. Its nice to say “hey I was inspired by” this is my take on it. I had my art stolen, techniques claimed as their own, not fun in fine art world. Its nice to see this. There was some tea last year on the hidden paperclips. Drama in the community! Interesting on the coffee! I thought only with gum arabica could u harden things into blocks. Very useful!

Awww thanx, gotta love a SIMPLE something-or-other for an easy "win", lol. Drama, such a waste of energy and time. I've stopped watching quite a few channels for similar reasons. Giving credit where credit is due, bc it's the right thing to do. I've gotten so much use out of my coffee "paint", super easy for "sepia" sketching, super fast way to vintage something up, great for spattering in a hurry. Great to see you here, hope you're doing well 🌼

@@TheCrabbyCrafterlolThank u. I live one day or minute by minute at a time. Do you have to add baking powder to the coffee cake? or u let it dry as is? I need a shallow vessel for it I think its easier to have it caked. Its interesting no gum arabic or anything is needed. There seems to be no rule about shoutouts and credits in JJ. With my luck, you do something and ppl will call u out and u never heard of said channel they say u copied. When I was a full time artist, I refused to look at ongoing art. So I was sure of my original pieces. Low n behold I saw my work similar hanging in local galleries dated after my work. That blows. I once was at Walmart and they had a similar reproduction of my art. It freaked me out. Iv had a lot of theft of actual pieces as well. Sore topic but it seems in JJ there are no rules except courtesy and crediting, sharing.

No, I don't add anything to the instant coffee "paint" pan except for very little hot water, just enough to get it to dissolve; then let it dry naturally in a sunny window if possible, to speed things up a bit. Takes a couple of days (weather/temp/humidity/amount of water used dependent) Right, no rules and lots of drama sometimes. So I focus on the drama-free channels who feel "honest", lol.
