There's a RAW partition of 1GB on Xbox Series SSD that contain the key that pair the SSD to the console. Without that key you cant add a new SSD. So if the original SSD completely dies and you didnt made a backup of that partition, you can throw the console to the bin; it cannot be saved anymore with aftermarket intervention, only maybe by MS by paying them big time.

Been watching you for ages! And fully believe in the theory of not standing up a ps5 ( your getting attacked for it on news) never ever had a problem with my ps5 however it overheated yesterday, the day i had my psvr2.. never happened ever before! I think my early ps5 can't handle the processing power due to heat

On my desktop i have an nvme for os and another nvme as a working drive and a hdd for data. If i wanted to work on some project i copy it to working nvme drive and then after finishing the work copy it back to the hdd. I dont trust ssd.

Is the Series X SSD less reliable then the PS5?

I wanted to ask something because apparently the tos from Microsoft says if you change your ssd or hdd for the xbox one. Then your account will be banned.. did you get banned for that ?

Why are these Consoles don't have easy SSD swap? As time goes people will face the same issues and how do we go about it. MS and Sony really need to make it easier to fix.

Xbox Series X consoles have an extremely low component failure rate. Have a guess what it is cobber? With ALL electronic devices, there is and always has been an expected 3-5% failure rate over the expected service life of the product. MOST electronic devices generally are still performing satisfactorily 20+ years down the track. THis does NOT include electro mechanical devices. And it certainly is at the low end of 3% for any Series X console. 97% are expected to easily outlast their use by date of approx 7-8 year cycle until next gen. How many perfectly good Playstation 2's, 3's and 4's and Xbox 1's, 360's etc are out there? Millions! And eventually they end up recycled. Cheers.
