Hi. Here is my city: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1709443307. The main thing that needs to be fixed is some major roads that connect to different suburbs have heavy traffic. There's also a problem with congestion with cargo trains coming into the city. Also some tips on how to continue growing the city will be great because my population seems to be stalling and not growing anymore. Thanks! :)

I'm finding that I frequently look at other peoples cities and go "wow, that looks wonderful" I think this was quite a great looking city.

The first round-a-bout you told people getting on to yield but you told two of them that they could go into the intersection where the round-a-bout traffic couldn't.

I built this city and made the map. I just want to thank you for helping me! Definitely giving me some ideas and also showing me some of the mistakes I've made. I always try to build a realistic looking city (including the metro) but the traffic doesn't want me to. I'm gonna keep expanding it and see if I can keep the traffic low. This city is absolutely beautiful mate. I want to ask you: the University Campus at 20:40, is that an asset or did you make that by yourself? It's really spectacular the look of it and I'd love to have this in my own city as well. Ed: If you have more cities as good as this one I'd love to see them too.

30 seconds in and I have to say this city is laid out in a gorgeous fashion. Not everything is blasted gridwork.

I still wonder why people set up metro stops every block. It's just wrong, the stops have a radius where people will walk (you can judge by the yellow faces). No need to have multiple stops when one suffices, as it both increases the speed of the mass transit and allows the usage of more vehicles more efficiently, if required.

@@Inovensivo If it works for you, go for it, but when you place a station check the yellow faces people make. That means that all those people are "happy" that they can now use metro. Then try to eye ball, so to speak, when to place the next one. They can overlap a bit, but try to space them out more. If you then have a decent pathway network they will use the metro. The benefits are amazing, trust me :D

I'm totally with you on this. I didn't know about the yellow faces, but I guess that's because mine aren't that close together. So I've never seen it. lol. The cims aren't as lazy as we are in real life.

I mean, in some places the metro stations are close to one another in the same line, so maybe they are trying to emulate that! I've based some of my lines on the line 1 of the Metro de Santiago which has some stations that are really close (2-4 blocks), but then I realized it slowed down things (just like in real life!)

Its quite fun watching old city fixes as some of the fixes you make here is different to what you have made in recent videos and some of the stuff just makes me want to yell (but it would be quite weird doing so as i am sitting alone at home)

your last change to 3/2 lanes was done with the option to ground it. If you chose the bridge version or at least above ground version of the rode, the look would have been different

21:41 it did that because you had Fine Road Tool set to force the use of ground pieces. fyi, if you turn on anarchy and switch FRT to force elevated pieces, you can use the road upgrade tool to switch a ground road into an elevated road in place.

Any mod that affects game play is going to turn off achievements. (unless you also get the "Mod Achievement Enabler" lol) If that's not an issue for you I see almost every body who makes videos using, "Move it" mod and "Traffic Manager", a lot of people use "BullDozeIt" but that's kind of a crutch since buildings only get abandoned when there is something wrong. Personally I prefer to play vanilla, but I can totally understand why those mods are awesome, and often consider getting move it and just modding back on achievements. Even if you play Vanilla you can still download other peoples interchanges, which I recommend because highway intersections can cause traffic nightmares if done poorly.

My method: since we have infinite money, we can go for NYC style parallel and cross subway, with some suburban transits.

This is hella fun to watch and also educational, you gave me lots of ideas to fix my own traffic and other problems

Actually, it is more like Inchun with (not the u like oo but the uh sound)

3:05 - The main problem with this roundabout is that 3-lane highway merges into 2-lane roundabout. It won't run smoothly until it's not fixed.

These videos help me make my city better :O but tbh it's satisfying having the person before do the traffic adjustments prior

8:05 pay attention to the lanes heading left. There's a car just... driving through all the traffic? I don't know how that Cim does it, but I need to know their secret

I dont know why, but whenever I see weird junctions It just cracks me up.

Nice city, I would however try to change that huge junction to be something more clean. But over all, looks great!

Hey Biffa, really enjoying your video series and tips how to keep everything flowing. Thanks to your vids I improved my second city from around 50% to a whopping 8% traffic flow! Question - something I've noticed is that when you set up the no lane switching in TM:PE it seems you do it with one key press - how? Is there a key for that? I always do it manually dragging the lines and with longer road segments it becomes quite a chore.

Whatever there are how many mods, one problem is still in there, one road traffic. I think this the core design problem. The only resolution is Grid design. In each block, it should have a high way to connect it, one in one out in each side, in total, 4 in 4 out to the high way, it is very effective, and it will resolve the problem entirely. Another method is to create an underground high way to connect to each section it will greatly decrease the traffic time.

Totally stealing that university campus idea.

Interesting watching this one by Biffa from just under a year ago after watching more recent videos. There were a couple of things I saw in this video that Biffa wouldn't do now, I think, although much of the stuff is the same. I learnt something from the metro stations solution though - I've seen a couple of other videos where Biffa has put in metro lines without connecting them up, but hadn't seen one where he split existing metro lines apart like that.

Hey Biffa. Love the cityfix vids and how you respect the players that send in their cities! I noticed the metroline issues in this vid and i wondered if you are aware of the 4 and 6-platform metrostation mods. Far more elegant than placing 3 stations close to eachother. Maybe u don’t use them on purpose in the cityfix vids but just wondered. Keep up the good work!

That massive station in the middle (what is it by the way?) has a metro station attached, you can tell as it widens.

1:53 its getting exponentionaly worse 11:00 try creating teleporting technology XD the metro in this city is like spagethy all over (under) the city 18:42 park level 5 - 19:09 park level 100 20:38 that is not a campus that is a small town all about education 22:04 mission sucsessful :D

It's crazy that you would place giant rocks at the edge of a waterside park like that 19:13. They block the view over the bay from within the park and from the buildings across the road. I mean, who wants to "focus their eyes upon" a rock, for crying out loud, especially when there is a much better view beyond it. Also, by placing that ferris wheel off-centre in front of the arch, you've really messed with the axiality the guy had going on.

Nice looking "troubled" city! 😆 I'd sure like to know where that incredible looking airport came from. 😳 You really got the traffic down yet again, Biffa. You're in the wrong profession! 😆

Incheon International airport (ICN) is Seoul, South Korea, main airport! It’s actually quite nice looking and efficient if Imma be honest! They’ve been rated world’s best airport since 2005 and is currently in the top 10 of the world’s busiest airport for international passengers! I’ll have to look into this asset cause its just gorgeous and I need it in a futur city lol props to whoever made it 👏🏻

where did you get all your road/motorway options? Been looking for more!

The problem I have with the priorities given is that because of the large amount of traffic, those other streets never get their opportunity to feed into the other streets. So it might solve flow, but it doesn't solve driveability.

Looks soooo muuch like Seoul, South-Korea. Hence maybe also why the airport is called Incheon Intl Airport. At least the traffic is pretty much the same at the start of the vid when it was still pretty bad. Seoul is a hideous monster to drive thru :-D

@ 3:04 That squiglyabout needs to be three lanes, not two. It makes no sense for a three lane road to come into a two lane roundabout. And it is interrupting a highway so you don't want to skimp on the lanes. @ 7:04 Two slip lanes is one too many. You want to be very cautious about adding extra connections to your limited access highways. @ 7:26 Don't frustrate drivers by making all the connections along a road one way the same direction. Alternate!

So im thinking about buying this after i watched a few of your videos. looking at all the DLC's wich of them are "necessary" ? thinking industries and mass transit is a must? Also i what mods are a must? Traffic manager and move it? anymore i should get at the start aswell?

Mass transit is my only "necessary" DLC because the blimps, monorails, and road additions are amazing.. but I do like the extra radio stations. lol. & I don't use mods.

I try to make traffic good in my cities by for some reason I'm at 40-50% traffic flow on a 40k pop city but I use so many assets and mods which probably wont be suitable for this xd

You kind of destroyed that first park. A city park would have been MUCH Better.

Ive found that building your road layout like a European city tends to work with traffic. Im building a city, it has about 90k people and 80% traffic. I have highways coming to the edge of the city, and then I have tunnels that come off of the highway and they exit at various different areas across my city. And I have plenty of trains buses and metro lines. The reason for the tunnels is they aren’t intrusive on the surface, and it allows people to bypass surface traffic and go closer to where they want to go

I gave it a quick look on steam workshop. Here maybe this is what you want. Search "cities skylines Pavement road", also there is Asphalt road etc.

Left turns can kill a city quick.

5 minutes in and I'm dying because you're leaving the roundabouts as 2 lanes instead of 3. First, all the incoming and outgoing lanes are 3 wide. You don’t want to create pinch points in high traffic areas. Second, the AI gets itself jammed up switching lanes when there's only 2 lanes. You don’t want that in a high traffic area.

What's the name of the map ?
