I Discovered some amazing information...Rc crazy,has run and modified these chassis for over a year and he uses 18t and 22t mod6 pinions..the only reason you did not strip your pinion is because it was hard steel like the stock spur gear..switch to a 22t with same setup and you will be 70 plus mph!

Great platform... terrible suspension out the box for $100+. However.... like most things, throw a little money/time at them and you can do great things.

Its the esc, tested the q117 esc and it works correctly and faster in forward.

Everything about this rc review was great!, your enthusiasm is infectious, and I never thought much of speed running, but those passes looked addicting lol

Faster in reverse? Sounds like you may have to swap two of the motor around and adjust any reversing switches. This happens to me on some of my brushless upgrades, when it does this usually fixes it! Impressive video and car! I really like these SuChiYu rigs, and your so right about that rear defuser it’s unnecessary and fugly! 😜😂👍🏻💯💪🏽

Tomley was building a car and had the same thing, with the fast.brushless the wheel speed seemed slower free wheeling but with load its fast

got my little runner a couple days ago before this video, even without the oil shocks this thing was driving insanely good, cant wait for their newer version, maybe theyll copy the AK-787

Brother, this bike has the same body as 16101 pro to 16105 pro, but the pinion gear is different.. Because I have 16101 pro, 16103 pro and 16105 pro, I took them apart to see what was different, and it turned out that the only difference was the pinion gear.. I just upgraded it today.. I use Ysido 2847 5600kv, 45a ESC, oil shock and pinion gear.. It can also use 2s-3s battery.. I didn't test the speed, because it's past 1am here, so I can't test it. I have to wait until tomorrow after work to test the speed.. I just like watching your crazy videos and I find them very interesting, so I share them with you.. I hope you don't mind.. MR D...I had a problem with my upgrade...stripped out aluminum 20t pinion on 2s lion pack within 40 seconds...i installed surpass 2845 5900kv with a new mount flipped over and mesh seemed perfect since i am pretty sure you said 20t mod .6 with mount flipped was good...maybe you used a steel pinion and not aluminium possibly? Anyway i replaced stock motor and its great...thanks again for sharing your knowledge..😊

The biggest problem I have with the SCY models is those stock springs that are waaaaaay too bouncy. Adding grease is a great idea. Will try that out.

My bad its 8200kv...x-team green motor ..i actually ordered the 2845-6500 kv last night...i have a bunch of 2s batteries..with 20t i am expecting around 37 mph ish using these 1500- 2000 ions..i could not remove those motor mount screws..so i ordered another motor mount...i have a 18 and 20t pinion on the way...i also hope i get those sg oil shocks i will add fuel line inside to lower chassis..😊

Were u able to put oil filled shocks in all 4?

One question i am going to use a 2445 5400kv to upgrade...i think its 2mm shaft...your link only has pinions 3mm...i tried sooo many searches cant find 20 tooth or 18 tooth mod 6 for a 2mm motor...thanks 😊

So you think the UDI 1/16 oil shocks might be a good fit for this chassis? The chassis look pretty similar. I picked up the ZLL Beast after your video and find the biggest fault the spring dampers.

I'm not sure, but I do recall that they are a bit small and the bottom mount is a cup, not an eyelet...but that was ages ago so I can't remember too well 😬

I know you moded a lot of these rtrs...i have a couple of questions..i actually ordered surpass 2445 5400 but am unable to find mod 6 pinion gears for 2.3 mm shaft..i tried for hours..so i will get a motor i cant use unfortunately..my question is this if i upgraded to dumbo tx and installed 45am hyper go esc...would car be faster? I no the car would be at least as fast going forward as in reverse unlike the stock setup..and to me reverse seems at least 5% faster stock...so in theroy using 2s with new setup i discribed it should gain 2 plus mph top speed...actually maybe 3 to 4 mph speed seems possible...just let me know your opinion on my theroy...of course i also may install a 2835 5400 also using a 20t pinion..it would be around 10 mph faster on 3s i am thinking...

I tried it all, even soldered the connections on the board, just couldn't sort it out. Then realized how much time I had actually dumped into figuring it out and remembered I was running out of daylight 🤣🤣

They held traction pretty good at 66. I'll be taking it faster soon....guess we will see how they do 😅

Great job...but am confused on motor kv..you said 900kv which cant be...and if its 9000kv that way to high...i know mine goes 40 imo on crappy 1000 3s 20c stock...stock motor is 2440 4600kv...i found a nice 2445 5400kv that will be an easy swap..thinking is should be mid 30s on 2s and maybe 50 mph on 3s using stock esc...what are your thoughts on this upgrade..? Not for speed runs,but just a really fast race car setup..but i agree you should be able to hit 80 to 100 mph with this car..has most speed potential fo 1/16 cheap car by a long shot...thanks for the great video..😊

I was talking pretty quick 😅 I used a 2845 - 5900kv. It's hard to find one with a higher kv value in that size. The stock ESC, just won't let you got enough amps through. It's bottlenecked at about 40-42mph. I imagine that the ESC from a 1/14 HyperGo could get to 50 pretty easy and it would fit nicely too 👍

@@roadstar499 nope, zero adjustment 18 or 20 is all you get with the fixed motor mount. But the factory setting for those meshes is bang on

Well than i may also get a 20 tooth pinion with the 2445 5400kv i ordered..they also have a 6000 plus kv using stock 2440 can...since i will run on 2s that may have been a better option..i did some calculation and off the top of my head my speed increase using 5400kv was way off...maybe 4mph more top end using same pinion..😢 ...but thats still plenty...maybe i will buy another one and build a 60 mph speed runner...very appreciated 😊

I did and didn't work. It's how the ESC and board in the TX are bound. There is no way to reset the throttle end points. It's just bound backwards unfortunately
