I think you should name it the Tomley's Rlaarlo Acceleration Xtremely Xtra Assist for Straightness!
Throttle pulse reminds me of the late great F1 driver Ayrton Senna's unusual driving style using a pulse or feathering throttle technique of up to several times per second I believe, for traction control, nobody knew he was doing that until a team member keyed in on subtle sound difference, so they wired Senna up for some data and a graph of his pedal action, very unusual and innovative driving style.

there's a video of senna in an NSX, the way he maintains the revs is so captivating to watch
I think the servo may be the issue (twitching at low speeds) i dont think its returning properly/ very accurate, until its forced to at higher speeds. Ill be trying a new servo soon and hopefully that fixes the issue, because when i got mine straight, it held really well!
Well, that crash looks *very familiar* mate. And the same front right wheel hub that I broke twice. 😂 And my receiver also pulled out exactly the same... Hmmm.. Good luck with the speed run buddy. Talk later. EDIT: Just noticed the speed was the same as mine. Becomes unstable at 70 mph, 121 kph... Wow.

Great video!I purchased a Rlaarlo buggy when they first came out and was pleasantly surprised in the quality and fun factor of Rlaarlo. Customer support is very good as well.
Legendary Smash! Im starting to wonder if Rlaarlo did this speed challenge to sell spare parts ! LOL! I just got my carbon brushless and its beautiful. Every car i've run over 80mph has destroyed lipos, arms, chassis, turnbuckles, you name it. There is no "durable" car that can withstand an impact that you demonstrated. people who blame the car have never speed run, this is just a normal weekend a speed runner.
I think youll find senna was the master of the "blip for grip" technique 🤣 in all seriousnes though, if you havnt seen it, thats how senna kept grip in the corner exits
You've become my favorite RC Channel, love the content. Thank you!!!
Finally the video I’ve been waiting for 💪💪💪💪 it didn’t disappoint. I really think Rlaarlo have produced a gem of a car

It’s certainly got potential… and as we’ve seen.. will do over 100mph 👍
One thing I try to do is stay away from side walks but that was still an incredible couple of runs 🔥👍🏻
Have you checked the diffs? I've found diffs that are too open really aren't ideal when trying to put power down, they usually open up and spin one wheel way faster which just makes the car really unstable.
Between the information you put into the video, your slow motion, you're voice over and driving skill. I just wanted you to let you know that I really appreciate all the effort and information....

That “goodie bag “ saved the freakin Day! Yeah Baby yeah!🇬🇧😝 Awesome speed run experience video ! Thanks Phil!
Nice runs! I think to run this very small, light car straight at speed there’s going to have to be some really meticulous suspension/chassis setup. Shock limiters for sure, looks like heavier springs as well. Is there any way to get rid of the excessive toe-in in the rear? Different pills, maybe? Thanks for the great vids, man! I don’t know when my AK917 will finally show up, but I’m really looking forward to it.
Famous last words, just one more run 😂, you were chasing that speed dragon and got bit lol but glad its salvageable. Lovely looking car.❤
Looks great, can’t wait for mine to come it’s on its way have not had one for more than 20 years
Hey I’ve been doing the pulse then full throttle since I started 😂 I’m glad you did it too it sounds a bit annoying but it works
That was pretty good. I like these cars. It took that crash quite well. There used to be curbs just like that out the front of my place, they were great for destroying cars I'd lost control of. People often don't realise how bad a right angle curb like that can be on an RC car. Great vid as always.

Oh no ! A good pull none the less , thou . Such a nice looking rig & she'll be back .
Pretty cool looking car! I do have one small question though; why do you keep the spare wheel on the car during runs? it's just extra weight, isn't it? cheers and keep up the good work!
@extec101
Жыл бұрын
extra weight can most of the time be good in a top speed run as aero is more of a factor then more mass in the car to make the suspension work rather then the car bouncing on the springs and it gives a initial downwards force making the tyres gripp that gains as downforce start to work. look att a bugatti veyron heavy car it seems compared to an ariel atom that is light for turns and acceleration but the bugatti is more for top speed and at 400km/h aerodynamic drag is a major factor more then what more mass does to initial acceleration in the start of the runn.
Love mine, it’s not the speed run version. I have the AM-X12 with the carbon effect carry case it’s a great looking car and seems well made, only issue I have is when you attach the wing to the car it won’t fit back in the case without squishing it in
The Tomley tap lol i like it
Been waiting for this video!
Have you considered extending the floor forward ahead of the body and bumper to create a air splitter? This will reduce the air flow under the car. Reducing that flow will reduce air pressure under the car. That will improve down force, grip and stability.
That's very nice. When pulsed it goes straight 😁
Just remember: 60 mph at 1/10th scale is like a full sized car hitting a brick wall at SIX HUNDRED MPH. (I know I know, force x mass = N and all that but still.....)
lmfao. the oh shit before the smash in slow motion was great
Use a spider phone mount on top of your remote so you can use two hands and still drive. It helps alot. And you can pull it off and throw it on the ground and get some good shots there too
@TomleyRC
Жыл бұрын
You can't get the low down shots I get without driving 1 handed. I use a mount for the remote for the normal running footage
Ouch! Always make sure you have time to scrub off the speed haha
My rtr carbon and rtr metal versions came in the mail today. And of course we have had nothing but rain and high wind the last few days. My fortnightly rc car club meet is in 3 days. Hope to put it round the track and see how it goes. I might put my dumborc with gyro in it just to help.
They really need to make a programmable ESC. the on/off braking is not good for speed runs but MAN I love mine!!!

Got off easy bro that could have been so much worse lol good to see it back together 🤷♂️ how’s the servo saver is it adjustable when everyone was having problems with the 1603 I ended up stuffing washers in the servo saver and that made so much of a difference & took the toe-in out of the rear by just heating up the hub & twisting it straight & couldn’t believe how much better it handled up to 65 then it would just take off like a ✈️ 😂😂😂good luck I want to get into this car so bad man it just looks like it should go over 200 lol
Thanks. Would be interesting to see if a Traxxas TSM could bring some stability.
It’s a lovely looking machine 👍

Cool video Phil minus the crashes 🫣. But was comedic! 😀 Yeah there is work to be done with this car! Got mine 2 days ago. 👍🏻
Doesn't take but a slight movement in steering to crash at that speed , Great Run, I really like Rlaarlo products!!!
Definitely needs a better road 🤣 overall it survived pretty well 💪
The TTC technique (Tomley Traction Control)
Thanks for the test. And seeing how much efforts, material and money Raz Shifrin puts into his projects, I highly doubted that a mass produced car would reach that announced speed. It's a nice model with many details and functions, and that should it be. I drove often over 120 mph over the Autobahn and I can assure you it's more stress than fun, even in an E-class. So in my mind a model hasn't to be so fast.
Nice side impact crash test!
can't wait to get mine 🙂 I will install gyro for sure..
The baby closing😂😂😂
You can say. "I chose a bad road" 🤣
Very impressive and it's nice to see spare parts included. I wanted to support my local hobby shop and they were just eager to get my money and get me out the door. Once I needed a $2 part after the first run, customer service from the manufacturer basically directed me to a complete $20 shock assembly or a warranty claim. Not cool. Looking at you.. Losi. 👀
you weren't brakig at all? blimey. very lucky! 👍🍺🇬🇧
Very normal damages after this high speed crash, none should complain. It's very beautiful, i like that has lights, and i like that it look like a 70's LeMans car. Also it's fast just need tuning for the guys that know how to do this, and generally is a nice model. For me is one of the most cool looking rc cars.

I cannot understand how many people into RC cars do not do a little homework and realize they basically function mechanically like their full size counter parts. Use a ruler or a tape.. You can then guarantee that your settings are equal side to side as well as corner to corner. That alone will tighten up handling characteristics. Toe in rear slightly for more forward bite. Front start slightly out, you will find more control if it does start to wave around... Look up what kind of specs full size cars are using for the application and go from there....
Man that thing took a hit!
Is there anyway to get an XRay carbon car ready to run?
Flipping heck 😮😂
Believe it or not, you cursing is even funnier in slow motion😂

My aarma vendetta will do 70mph out of the box with the included high speed pinion gear on 3s. I actually got 72mph out of it one morning. No aero problems drives straight and is super tough. I got it on a sale for 199 usd. Hard to beat that.

In rlaarlo's email link in description it doesn't even explain how to pay the additional fees. You first have to email rlaarlo in order to get an explanation how to pay the fee. Nowhere in their link doesn't say to push the link button 25 times in order to pay the additional fee.

That's the problem with 1/10 speed cars. My Xray TC is theoretically as fast with my 4.5T 3S setup but it it just too light and the footprint is too small to be controllable
