This Old Truck! Crown Hick!
Here’s a quick peak under the hood of this 1966 F100 body mounted to a crown Victoria Chassis and then super charged because SUPER CHARGED. And then here’s an old trick to put plugs in hard to reach places.

About the Crown Hick; This 1969 Ford F250 has been shortened over 14″ and mated to the largely stock guts and chassis of a 52k-mile 2008 P71 cop package Crown Victoria. Looking all the world like an old farm workhorse, the truck is described as being a “cool daily driver with cold A/C, that you don’t have to worry about getting dirty or scratching.” Powered by a modular SOHC 4.6 liter V8 backed by the factory 4-speed automatic, we imagine it drives a lot like the Crown Vic it now essentially is!

You and tony are the reason my dad and I put a crownvic frame and everything under a 51 ford chassis. It was a lot of work. Custom frame rails and since its narrower but it was the best project we ever did. Been 6 years now and it just keeps getting better!

Very cool! 🏁🏁
I love this project so much. If this were mine I'd never get out of the cab except for gas and to work on it.
Thank you for the handy tips

I love that you showed the rubber tube trick I seem to yell a lot of KZread videos because it would make changing plugs so much easier I guess it's just us veterans that know that little trick
Thanks for the video 👍

Love that truck. The only thing I would change is wheel's. I would get some of the Detroit steelies for those Dog dish hubcaps to sit on. 🤟😎
I use a piece of thin PVC pipe duct taped to a shop vac to get all the dust and debris out of the holes before I pull the plugs. It is amazing what collects in those cylinder head holes on a daily driver.
Nice job Lucky! Love when you go old school. Nice do too! I was getting ready to call you Steve again. 😂

Hose is a good trick.. buy they make a magnetic/swivle spark plug socket specifically for those mod motors. Makes changing the plugs a dream!😮
Old school hack, well done showing the basics is where it all begins 😎
Dig it. A shop of reality. Trailer queens not apply.
Did something like this recently but all we had was a drinking straw. Worked like a charm but not as smoothly as your technique. Will have to keep some vacuum hose laying around. 😁
Yeah! Glad to see the crown hick in a faster with Newbern and cotton episode.
Great that all the plugs came out. Did plugs on a 5.4. Stressful. Had the tool on stand by. Didn't need it thank goodness.
The Crown Hick is my favorite .
Good to see my favorite car and truck ok lucky always great to see you have a great Thursday bud Pit the kitty project X for me please😂❤ later 👍

Cool trick with the hose. Many years ago my dad gave me a tool from MAC tools that is essentially this. I use it a lot for changing spark plugs on my trucks.
Still my favorite project

The church that I went to as a kid in Westminster, CA. One of the guys in my Sunday school class. His Dad worked for J.C. Penny's in the auto repair Dept. That trick has come in handy several times in my life.6=8.
I have been using the hose trick with spark plugs since the ‘70’s when the old guy I was working for taught me! But still a good refresher, thanks Lucky!!
I have a 5.4, I always put a dab of antisieze on the threads they never stick. Just a little FYI.

Yes, did that when I closed up the gap. 👊
Tips for getting the wires back on? That’s where I always have issues. Big hands. No space to push em on
Indexing is a real pain on the deep ones.
For a second there I thought this was a collaboration with Geoff from “Elderly Iron - This Old Truck”. I would definitely watch that.
I used to do the hose trick on old air cooled VW's.
That's an oldie but a goodie! Works on anything but a Boss 429 Mustang.
I’ve loved this since us Australians had the freedom to watch HRG Before the Overlords decided we can’t see American content that we can view on EVERY other format…. Which to this day seems like a master stroke of a management genius……..?
Appreciate for showing the hose trick. I love Crown Hick & was wonder if Motor Trend sold this thing. I'm now curious what are Newbern & Cotton gonna do to this thing.
Don't give it all away.
I would like to do that conversion to a 56 F100.
The only time I felt you looked really perturbed was the last time Tony was driving this truck😏
I need to find me a crown Vic frame one of these days, want to swap a dent side onto one so bad

It is a very cool vehicle, sad that it seems you aren't allowed (or don't want to risk) saying the name of the person you were building it with at the time. But overall a very cool way to get an old pickup to drive like a dream.
Lol,If you can't eat it or sleep with it,
I'm guessing the boys didn't read the sticker under the hood then.
Semi hemi heads??
Just an FYI, your phone microphone is very directional! When talking to the camera the volume drops off significantly.
What does it mean when you say “Mod” motor?

That it's a ford "modular" 4.6/5.4 overhead cam... -EDIT- If you maintain them they will run to 500k miles...
