This Ohio River lock was loaded with fish (June Catfishing)

catfishing the Ohio river below this lock and dam was a key place to suspend baits for some good fish in the month of June, it can be a tough time to fish the river due to catfish spawning but the dam can usually produce all year no matter the conditions.

I live 16 min from there glad to see someone enjoying the river and might I add that is one bad ass boat 🛥️

Probably Ghent or veyvey boat ramps just down stream they are free and have good ramps and parking other than that you would have to put in above the dam at Craig’s creek and lock through

i’m going to markland dam tmr going to try and find ur spot man never been catfishing hoping i get something going to use kool aid cherry chicken with a little bit of garlic for the smell and leave it sitting out overnight you think that will be pretty good bait?

love seeing this local stuff crazy seeing something so close to ghent getting blues like this so often
I always cut the tails off my multiple bait riggs. Sometimes, I even cut a slice into the shad to open up a scent trail

I reeled my shad back and cut the tails off they were a little stale I forgot to put them on ice

@@brandonhopewell1988 it is a 1969 Boston whaler minot it was customized with the t top center council and gas tank seat it kind of a neat boat but I really need something bigger for the river and to take more people with me

Spot lock only you will get an anchor snagged and it is not safe

Sending love which is why I'm saying -- limit what you eat out of the Ohio. Stay as small & low on the food chain as you can. Trim off any fat. Saying just cuz it is on my heart to do so. These are the realities of that river which I love.
