on the layout thing, i'm surprised they were able to get the genesis team to hype up the bracket for months and stream the actual event just to not ask them for help with production. their transition slide between player cams and gameplay is quite literally a default obs template when they had what was essentially a mini bts helping with the event

Ok so I think the wording of that overlay tweet led to people really missing the overarching story behind Diamond Dust. It took place the same weekend as another regional in the same region (Saturday Stadium 3) that was announced before it. As a result of all this conversation, it came out that there was a massive miscommunication between the organizers for the events, as the Diamond Dust TOs had had the dates set long before the announcement but it was never added to the region’s event calendar. The tweet happened because people were mad that Diamond Dust seemed to have stolen the top players hype etc and the overlay just added insult to injury. But thankfully it’s all been figured out now, and the Diamond Dust TOs even gave the Saturday Stadium TOs free promotion for the next one

Hopefully the next gen has better hardware. I know they had to cut a lot of stuff to fit the game on the sd card. For the next game, I want break the targets. An actual story mode. Maybe in the style of hollow knight. And a real all star mode. I’m not smart enough to know what we need for competitive play, but those are some of my hopes for the next game.

For competitive play I'd say the biggest issue is the native input lag. Lowering the native input lag would not only make the game feel more responsive offline, but it would also make the game slightly less laggy online.

Nowadays you can literally give universal facts, and people will still play the contrarian arc.

The layout is super important! I watch all the streams on my phone and a bad layout actually makes it very hard to see the information easily during the set

Main issue is people having the most binary thinking and equating opinions that are mild/valid criticism to the most volatile version of said opinion. In reality most people just want things to be better, esppecially when you have other tournaments as a barometer.

The end of Smash 4 sucked yeah, but I loved it pre Bayonetta. I loved it more than I have enjoyed Ultimate in any era if I'm being honest with myself.

People can cry about the layout, deal with it. The event was literally in a school gym 😂. Personally speaking I watch the match and don't pay attention to the boxes up top

The app seems cool. The layout definitely sucks ass though, it looks like they tried to go for a minimalistic design, but the execution is so poor. And I don't know if that is from your stream, but having the screen zoom to your face while you explain the layout was very unfortunate 😂. And Fuck Bamco starting to go after mods.
