Building a game around speed then retroactively removing speed while keeping crazy hitboxes makes for a bad time, 30 seconds of input delay feels like inbuilt lag, scummy microtransactions built around difficulty of unlocking chatecters, the removal of good features, Incredibly zoomed in, the game barely being able to run on some consoles, purchased charecter passes gone, Hitstop is terrible, saved coins gone, no ranked mode, bad ui, bad netcode/frequent crashes, missing twitch drops, unable to test charecters in practise, games no longer giving any battle pass xp and my least favouret THIS SHITS SOOOOOOO SLOW but that's just me, I hope they fix this mess

Fun to hop on for a bit and mess around with. I wish the ground game had more going on. Also the platforms just don't feel right? Feels very hard to get onto a platform when I try to.

Warner Bros Games is one of the worst publishers, they are likely the ones that forced them to release this now when it wasn't 100% ready to go.

@@georgealvarez1195 I don’t wanna call this stupid but this isn’t new information. tony huynh tweeted the same thing the other day. you don’t get brownie points for saying you’re going to make changes that don’t exist while the monetization (which is just strictly worse than before btw) was changed just fine and they TOOK AWAY the ability to use training mode for characters you don’t own. nEw EnGiNe hArD like yeah I’m sure its hard to remake the game and it seems like WB was rushing them like mk1 and I hope it gets better but it’s still not a good game rn man cmon..

For me personally, multiverses just doesn’t feel good to play. It’s not just the speed. The hitboxes, hit effects, hitstun, sound, movement, etc… the whole package feels off and clunky. Maybe it’s just because I’m so accustomed to smash, but multiverses is just not doing it for me. On a side note, I’d rather just pay $60 for the full game with all the characters rather than this league of legends style micro transaction system. That’s also contributing to my negative reaction to this game.

The lack of a true base roster I think hurts the game. Feels like everyone is playing the same like 5 or 6 characters. Still haven't played against most of the cast. Said fuck it and bought Marvin the Martian since no one was playing him and had fun but I basically gambled on liking the character because I couldn't try him out before hand.

I know you talked about character balance and I agree for a majority of characters but I really feel like Garnet should've gotten more man. In a game with all these wacky hitboxes and projectiles all of hers feel way too honest. Also her specials being unchanged feels bizarre. - Down special is rarely used if ever especially since it's so easy to interrupt and see coming. - Neutral special being as slow as it is feels awful and the buffs don't really feel all that worth it especially since they run out so fast. - Up special in the air is alright, decent kill power and the increased body sized technically increased its range - Up special on the ground is so weird. Her clap? AMAZING, it scoops, kills pretty well, and is an alright anti-air. But the lightning thing? Dog water, dunno why they even have it. Honestly wish they just combined it somehow, maybe make the clap impact give her lightning hands for a few seconds or something. Also lowkey sucks that one of her best moves is locked on a cooldown, super weird design - Side special is fine 2/4 of her specials feel alright and the other two are dog water? And y'all had a year to take a look at her? Dunno what's up with that man.

I agree with just about everything you said. I think you should touch on that progression thing a little more because this game does -not- respect your time. It just doesn't and their target audience is people who have money. Well how do they think those people get money? People will full time jobs do not have time to grind that game the way they want you to grind it. You aren't getting their money that way.

The fact they removed the ability to try all characters in the lab turned me off from the game. How tf am I supposed to know if like a character before I buy them? That happened to me before all this and I had the lab. Bought Velma, had fun but she’s not really my play style. I wanna try Marvin but I can’t even try him in training like that’s fucking assy.

The biggest complaint I have are with the mechanics unfortunately. A lot of moves have bad start up but no lag so it feels both slow and mashy. Like every character can recover way too easy and wall cling. Also I hate the sliding aerial mechanic I think it’s aesthetically just ugly makes the game look cheap. The camera is terrible especially always zooming in and out and the characters are so big. Unironically I wish it WAS just a smash clone with smash’s more intuitive mechanics but with these cool Wb characters. I also just personally dislike 2v2 bc it’s too chaotic but maybe that’s just me

NASB2 is still mechanically better and I prefer its speed. This game is literally slower than smash brawl

I'm out here in Polk County with Oopstier and his brother trying to get me to play, I know they've been waiting on this game to change things up. Sad to hear this 2nd drop isn't slapping as hard as everybody wanted but looks like there's still hope for improvements...

There was no need for an engine change from UE4 to UE5.. GGST and GBVSR both on UE4 with excellent netcode. That was a very poor decision by leadership either at PFG or WB but all the experience, knowledge and progress in Open Beta UE4 build to be scrapped and start all over again is absurd. It was broken but they felt the need to fix it. Over correcting and completely changing the game. It's not looking too hot unfortunately and considering we're worse off than the beta in more ways than one. I'm truly concerned for the future of MvS..

I personally am having a lot of fun, game is clunky and micro transactions on a half baked game are annoying but I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone is making seem. If you compare platformers to smash it’s like NCAA to NBA. They’ve just been doing it longer. I think the game needs time to cook a little more.

I like the gameplay for me it’s mostly the monetization that’s hard to swallow. PPL always say “but it’s F2P just don’t pay.” Bro, I’ve played F2P games before don’t talk to me like I’ve never played a game before. F2P doesn’t have to mean making the game intentionally insufferable for players that aren’t throwing there entire wallet at you.

The only "conter point" I have is the playing characters in Training. I agree that it should be a thing as it was back in the beta MVS, but so many games don't let you train with DLC or characters you don't own. Even T8 blocks rematch analysis if the character is DLC Other than that I agree with the rest of the points

Crazy you can outplay a superman and banana guard all game but die at 50!! This isnt even the only issue. Characters dont even have to charge their move and itll ko you early. Some characters are dying too easily, while also not being able to ko until 140+. But will die at 50 on stage while not being an assassin or super light character. The hitboxes are wild. The reach and hit priority is wild, check out black adam, especially. Why cant garmet guide her rocket better?

The change must need is the pointless grind for characters and not even getting a chance to try characters in the lab is just stupid. They removed alot of stuff and added alot of gems variations for no reason, the beta was to make things better not worse.

Must be nice to have a nice netcode experience because Xbox players are straight up having an awful experience. Constant lagging, freezing, disconnecting in 2s and even Rifts mode lags Also if you have character tickets you're forced to use them to buy characters. You can not the Fighter Currency that you can earn for free, until you use the character tickets. If you want to buy a cheaper character with FC and save your tickets for a more expensive character like Joker, that's not an option.

i thought this game felt fine because i only play jason, but then i learned that people seem to think he’s one of the only characters that feels good 😂 i don’t get why these massive companies can’t make a game that doesn’t look super clunky and unprofessional, there’s no way it’s THAT hard even melee looks smoother than this game and it’s 23 years old

I wanna support the game bc I love the concept, but it’s literally unplayable on console. The hitstop combined with the slower game speed and random crashing is a joke. I even crashed out of solo rifts on a series x. I give it one more month before I’m full time hating

Nearly everything else just looks and feels cheap in comparison, but I know that few studios have the same amount of resources Smash does. I'd rather these games try to carve out more of their own identity than compete with Smash. Rivals 2 looks fun though

@@zake64in terms of pure gameplay and mechanics Rivals 2 trumps smash ultimate easily. This is coming from a huge smash fan. Rivals 2s new mechanics are a game changer and the combo system as well as the games pacing and netcode are prestine. Upon personally playing the beta this is by far my most anticipated platform fighter and quite possibly my current favorite.
