This May Help With Your Ollies

I haven't seen anyone mention the technique of using your ankle rather than stomping. And I see so many new skaters stomping the tail like crazy. I just hope this helps someone.

I like that you focused on addressing the difference between stomping your foot and snapping your ankle. Very helpful. Outtakes were pretty funny too. Great video

This is a very good and on point video, but the very best part is right at the end. Those outtakes cracked me up sooo hard, I couldn't stop laughing, brilliant ending! 😆😂🤣👏👏

Bro the outtakes made my day. Just stumbled upon your channel and this 39 year old, just back at it after 20+year, father of #6 on the way, will be subscribing. Great tips bro.

Hey man, you just made me realize why sometimes I’m able to Ollie over obstacles and sometimes I’m not! Bc I would try and add more power to go higher by stomping

I'm a 40 year old skater from Waco, TX. I enjoyed hearing a southern accent in a skate tutorial. Nice change of pace, for real!

This is great advice. When I first started learning to ollie I was getting a lot of hip pain because I was keeping my leg straight and trying to pop really hard. Seeing this earlier would have saved me skme grief.

Bro, that helped me so much. Seriously, thank you. My ollies this session were all so much more consistent and higher, something just clicked in my head after the first time I did that flick and now they are much nicer. I'm a 40 yeald dude who just got back skating last season after 20 years and I've watched so many trick tips an never seen this one.

good stuff man definitelt something I had started to figure out. Its good to see that you can "stomp" and get a decent ollie, but it isnt quite right.

Yeah, there's a much higher chance of hanging up. It's a bad habit that still pops up for me every now and then

Yes.. Str8 Facts.. You have to learn how to Pop your board at a point in your jump when most of your weight is off the board. Also.. don't make the board " jump" bring it with your jump.. I know it sounds crazy.. but an older homie told me that.. once I understood it.. it helped. Basically bring the board up with you by popping and sliding your foot. Don't depend on your Pop to make the jump. LoL.. I just can't explain it.. but trust me.. it works.💯

lol i knew you were gonna roll away with that trainer on lol no shame. this is pretty well explained one other thing i think helps is to focus on lifting your back foot all the way up off the board before or as you are flicking. the higher that back leg is the more you can level the board and the higher you can ollie. makes sense if you think about it. how you gonna ollie 2 ft if your back foot only 1 ft off the ground. once i started thinking of ollies this way it made something click in my head and i could just focus on the snap/pop and the flick way more
