So last night we got some absolutely crazy news, something that no one was expecting. Not only are we getting a movie about Mando and Grogu, but we have confirmation that Ahsoka season 2 is in the works.

Why is this a crazy announcement? Because lately the leakers have heard from reliable sources that both of these ideas were cancelled and would be carried over into the next season of The Mandalorian.
Instead, taking everyone by surprise, Disney made the following announcement:
The Mandalorian and Grogu are embarking on a new adventure - to movie theaters.
Directed by Jon Favreau, and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu will go into production in 2024.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” said Favreau. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
"Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen," added Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.
The Mandalorian & Grogu will lead Lucasfilm's ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.

I had that hope before to be honest as long as disney owns star wars itnwould only be used as a money grub first political agenda second then story creativity

I hope Din Djarin won't be sidelined again and be the main character of The Mandalorian.
Absolutely 0 faith in anything Star Wars or Disney
Now they need to drop the full Season 3 Bad Batch Trailer
I would love to see an opening where Grand Admirals Thrawn and Rae Sloane talk while the Chimera is being repaired
We'll see how the word of mouth is and how they promote this before I get too excited. Everything except mando season 1 and 2 were absolute stinkers to come out of Disney.

@theducksarecoming meh? It was very slow. I couldn't even finish the third episode so I gave up on it. If you have to watch over half the series for it to get interesting, it's not a good show.

The Ahsoka series offers new possibilities to bring our old characters (Anakin...) to life. Unless the story is about new characters or changes about the force and how it works.
I hope the movie will do good because that's crazy that they're making a movie

@StarForceOne If there is no interference from KK and the studio executives/corporate people and if it is like season one, follows the same recipe with the magic, I can see this movie doing so well.
I’m really excited about this. I really hope they can maybe with this film even explain palpatines resurrection as that was a topic they covered briefly in the show.
Regarding TROS - why ask? I think the same thing about it that everyone else does.
After all that has happened, honestly, I feel no excitement for this.

I didn't think Ahsoka was thst good, like 6/10, but man i enjoyed it so much regardless, this is good news
I actually like the show format instead of movie content for Star Wars. And I have little to no faith that a new movie will be good. I’d much rather them stick to the show format for the Mandalorian
I've given up on getting excited for SW projects. I'll watch them but meh.
Star Wars is not in a good place right now. The novels are the only thing I like about the franchise but even that’s getting too high republic centric for my tastes.

@@LaraA55 all of Disney is and it’ll be a long time before they all recuperate. Pixar, marvel, 20th century studios etc… the only one in a pretty good place right now is probably Disney Channel and that network. At least in the US anyway since it got discontinued in every other country.

dave felony has some okay ideas and some good though mostly trash and the entire mandalorian series is dumb and trash
