@@Taxxxxxxes I’m sorry but didn’t Pixar have like a bunch of bombs for almost a year? And most of the things Disney has confirmed have been cancelled and/or completely ignored. Lando went from tv show, to movie, to not even having a script. Rogue Squadron got cancelled along with two other films. Rangers of the New Republic cancelled. The Rey movie is likely going to get cancelled. That Droid tv show has gone MIA. And you’re telling me there hasn’t been any trouble and everything has been released?

While I’m elated by the cancellation in the fact that we won’t be subjected to another mess of a movie and someone at Disney saw the writing on the wall that a super toxic director and a deeply unpopular character weren’t going to sell well however I’m mad that nobody saw that when this movie was pitched and when they chose the director proving there is zero oversight at disney

I agree. I too personally am glad it's canceled, I'm glad someone at Disney realized this is a bad idea.

I was more scared when this was announced than when it was canceled 😅

the problem is disney CEOs (like kathleen kennedy) refusing to stop butting in and forcing stupid changes so show runners and writers are leaving. disney's first party projects are failing and marvel and SW are the only things bringing in money, so maybe the disney CEOs should stop interfering with their golden geese and let the creative writers and show runners create.

Excellent news. Nobody wanted that movie. Only Kathleen Kennedy. They should focus all resources to Andor S2, Ahsoka S2, Mando S4 and Movie. What actually works with audiences.

Personally The Mandalorian should’ve finished after season two and Ashoka is a character that’s poorliy evolved to live action. They need to continue some sort of animated series the Ahsoka show would’ve been the logical choice as it would’ve been a spin off of rebels.

They MUST put a Star Wars Geek in the writer's chair and let him or her do the rest, but Disney wants to serve to popular media audience instead of actual Star Wars fans.

It kills me to see star wars in the state that its in right now, it makes me wonder if star wars will ever be the same or if itll just be more cash grabs till it dies. All we can do is hope

​@@apolloknight9521It's very much still alive, but barely. Andor is one of the best Star Wars projects ever made, Tales Of The Jedi with Dooku was great, and The Bad Batch is mixed with tons of filler but half of the episodes are amazing.

Haven't commented in a while on yt but want to point out how StarForceOne's voice says it all. He sounds saddened over all of this and many of us share this thought with Star Wars in general. Star Wars was truly legendary back in time even with some flaws. However stuff like this is just... depressing, seeing something I used to truly love destroy itself is saddening. I have barely kept up with Star Wars in general and have little to no motivation to be invested in it

I hope this mando and grogu movie doesn’t get cancelled. Dave Filnoi especially can’t afford anymore mishaps now.

Time to cut new projects set after the mando timeline until Disney finds their footing and remake the sequels WELL! So that they can make related shows for years to come! (without everyone hating the story, setting, lore destruction and awful characters of the current sequels!!) 😃🥰

Rey’s character could’ve been amazing. The arc could’ve been her rebuilding a new order. But what we got was just dreadful. Half of the first movie was good. Then it just descended into awfulness. Sad times. “Somehow Palpatine returned” sums it all up.

Maybe they should just go with what was written and just have faith. It can’t be any worse than any of us expect. I’m extremely hopeful this movie is scrapped forever. Star Wars will not recover from its current state unless Kathleen Kennedy is fired, removed from any creative involvement, or if we’re really lucky, dies.

This is not surprising at all! If anything, it’s ridiculous how many Star Wars movies keep getting announced and then cancelled. What a joke! This is why I’m more of a Star Trek fan partially. Nowhere near as many problems with that franchise.

Thank God. The concerning thing was that thing called Rey movie....

At the end of the day SW is known as a movie franchise to the casuals out there who don't follow it. Ask a random person about star wars and they will reply "oh you mean those movies with the vader dude right?". These D+ shows started because Solo flopped so they retreated to D+ because it was safer and also allowed them to promote their new platform. A show flopping or not being received as well won't make the headlines like a movie flopping would. There is a veil of protection on a streaming service. TDLR, they are stalling. Its not a coincidence a lot of these movie projects get canceled or delayed. Sooner or later SW will have to return to the big screen and when that happens they can't bullshit their way out with excuses if it flops. They are delaying the inevitable.

lol announcing movies before they’re written is emblematic of the entire problem with the trash Disney has been putting out across the board for all of their many IPs. A corporate committee is completely incapable of producing worthwhile art.

Whew, I’m glad this was canceled. I hated the director alone, not to mention that nobody cares about Rey as a character.

So I will have to make more star wars fan films then. So far they have been very ad hoc and out of nothing at conventions but yeah I have lots of SW cosplay friends who are hyped to film with me some cool stuff.

I would prefer if this movie was NOT about Rey. If it is about a new Jedi order with Grogu in it, and it is about a completely new protagonist, then that would be a good start. If Rey was a supporting character, then fine, but don’t make a movie about her!!!
