My bro and I use to take a dip where the drainage ditch for our and every neighborhood above us emptied out into a dry reservoir. You could only do it when it wasn’t raging, however the water was black literally. Probably from all the asphalt streets. If the water was brown and flowing good that usually meant it was from the mountain and would actually partially fill the reservoir, which was much better to swim in but still dangerous as it was by a huge concrete drainage tower 😂. In all seriousness the channel above the reservoir was actually very dangerous to be in after flash floods in the desert. It would roll big boulders in the rushing water and you could hear them scraping down the ditch against the concrete. You didn’t go in then unless you wanted your feet broken .
