Less than a century ago, thriving colonies of the Monk seal, existed throughout much of the Mediterranean Sea, from Spain to Israel and from Northern Italy to Libya. Today, the Mediterranean monk seal stands as one of the most endangered marine mammals globally. Operation Ghost Farms will occur in one of the few remaining refuge areas for the Monk seal, aiming to protect its habitat and support its survival.
