This Louis Vuitton had but a few options to bring it back to a useful bag.

When the canvas is cracked this bad, this is one option. We shortened the bag to remove the damaged area.

It’s an east-west style now. I think those of us with a bag collection ( mine isn’t huge and is mainly Mulberry England) forget that someone with just one bag, who uses it every day will actually wear the materials out over time. None of my bags get used often enough to get that type of damage, because I have some I wear only in summer or winter etc and they get rotated , but I think it’s cool that someone loves their bag so much and wears it to every occasion.

I just watched a youtube video on LV repairs for cracked ir missing PVC coating on the canvas. This bag is pretty extensively damaged, but you buy Edge Kote, which is a PVC coating. With a small brush fill the cracks on the canvas, heat with a heat gun and press with a tool lightly to give it a grain look. Allow it to dry thoroughly. I have an LV Speedy 40 that has one scratch on the bottom I think I'll try it on.

They are really flimsy and delicate and they don’t even stitch them as well as most cheap jeans or handbags that Walmart or target sells. I rehab handbags, primarily leather ones, and the quality that I have found in some of the “lesser” contemporary designer and even mall brand bags has often shocked me at how well done it is. There is a trend in luxury designers that the older bags are almost always made better than the new ones are… except with LV . Their bags have always been easy to damage and poorly made.

From what I see Steve increases the value of these bags cause 9 times out of 10 he is removing the cheap materials and replacing with better while putting more time and care into fixing and stitching then was put into it when it was originally made. Seems crazy to think he us devaluing the bag with what he does.

@@dmack1827 for me would have done in LV store to fix it, they charge but they do amazing and original work. I fix my pet carrier and was absolutely worth it every penny they charge. I comment on his workmanship he did great job, but as me I would have bring it to LV store and wouldn’t matter for me how much it will cost. Value of the bag is important at least to me :)

I have news for LV doesn’t repair anything damaged like this. If there is a crack on the canvas, usually LV will not touch it.

@@BedosLeatherworksLLC wow! I am very surprise why not? They change handles, zippers, piping, screws, their customer service are amazing. I change for my car carrier metal mesh and they did amazing job it’s like never was touched and only charge me $90 so cheap. Little thinks like to change screw on glasses was free. Chanel also unbelievable service, they change closing class on my Chanel classic jumbo bag and sew inside pocket with zipper (was ripped little) was FREE I was shocked!!! Hermès on another hand are absolutely horrible you wait for 6-8 month to get your bag repaired and they charge really CHARGE, but I prefer to deal with those snubs just to have done originally. Hermès service are insanely horrible!

This is a Delighrful GM, the largest Delightful. The Delightful is a popular bag but no longer being manufactured. This is an older bag probably 2010ish. And for anyone mentioning about price, all top designer bags are insanely priced.

Another terrific job in bringing back a well loved item into usable condition again! I completely agree that if you are someone who actually “uses” your expensive bags, then being able to continue using it is what is most important. 👍👍👍👜
