I mean, gearing has always been a massive problem in 14 because not only is it not even exciting to chase because there's no real power or interesting mechanics behind the gear, but it just takes so long that it runs counter to the armory system which is touted as one of the game's biggest selling points. Like wtf, make up your mind about it Yoshida it's only been 10 years and 16 is done now too so no excuses.

@@ruily276 That’s actually incorrect. You only really survive easier cause of the higher vit on the gear. But removing something that gives crit/direct hit/determination and replace it with something that gives skill/spell speed will naturally do less. You gain maybe 50 more int/strength and lose over 200+ direct hit determination, which in some cases can be the reason why you keep hitting enrage. Stone, Sky, Sea is a great place to see the difference in these stats it makes a huge difference especially when someone knows their class rotation pretty well. I have cleared p9s twice so far and have yet to see enrage, this goes to show how worthless crafted gear is but it’s so hyped up because people don’t know how to survive with min ilvl cause people don’t use mitigations properly.

@@KhronosTrigger I just checked the gear planner and compared 640 to 650 and 660. The difference is like 10-50 dps if you chose a higher ilvl with skillspeed over a lower ilvl piece that has crit/det/dir in it. If you die to enrage because of 50 dps there is something majorly wrong. Especially in this tier where dps checks are very lenient in the first weeks.
Better loot distribution than some statics in NA/EU.

Its a common practice in JP called 左取りぬけ means take and leave from the left coffer. If you roll for the loot and got it, you proceed to leave before people roll on the next one. This is true. In PF usually people stated the loot rules: either L>R or FFA. Most of the PF will use L>R rule and only nearing the end of the tier life you will find more FFA PFs.
My main's on Gaia and yeah, this is generally how it goes. Later on when the tier gets older and a lot of people are in BiS they'll make more free-roll parties where you roll anything you want for alt job usage, but from-left-then-leave parties persist for those who are still newer to clearing the wing.
Would be very hard to start doing this in EU/NA. If you try setting up a part with left>right rules, people won't understand what it means, and even if you explain, there are no consequence if they ignore it, only an incentive to do so since they can't trust others to follow the loot rules. One time an FC member of mine accidentally rolled on everything and won a couple of things. When the other party members talked about it he felt so bad that he paid them all a certain amount of money, as if it was a merc party. There are several loot rules you may see, so pay attention if you decide to join. The Left to Right one is the most common, but sometimes you'll see PFs for free roll, sometimes the party leader wants to buy out all the gear, and especially in the final fight of the tier the order can go all over the place (like Need weapon if your job actually needs the weapon/everyone picks a weapon they get to need on if it drops before you start, followed by the weapon coffer, greed weapon aka free roll on the actual weapon if no one needed it, and then whatever else). And remember, when in Rome do as the Romans! Please follow the etiquette/strats/culture of the server/data center you're visiting or playing on, whether you think your way is better or not. I actually didn't know at first when i accidently lottoed on slneone elses item, but I liked it once i learned about it. it makes it fair for all participants, at least if what they want drops. There was always some kind of trouble from some na/eu folks who didn't agree to such a system. I used to be one of those JP players in FF11 online back in 2002. We had rules built that we all followed such as asking the person permission ahead of you before posting anything on the Auction Board. Before each EXP party, we agree to a time frame of how long we will play. Anyone leaving early or asking to stay longer was considered rude and may be black listed. We also had set schedules for who gets to do the raid between linkshells (guild). This also meant we needed to agree if you're going to create a linkshell who wishes to grow to be raiders. All this was challenged when NA joined the game around 2003. I was handful of JP who knew English and I was the middle man. There was so much resentments against NA, we even petitioned to start JPonly. Meaning we collectively refuse any deals with NA. We were also closer to the server so JP had the upper hand in claiming a NM (Notorious Monsters). We used advantages like that to practically be an asshole towards NA. It was crazy.

That resentment was definitely warranted! I played on Alexander and one of my linkshell mates had a Noble's Tunic crafted by a prominent Japanese crafter on the server. The crafter got lucky and it turned into a +1. Normally, it was understood that the crafter would keep the +1 and give a regular one to the customer. Somehow my linkshell mate convinced the crafter that he was going to keep it for himself to raid with and was not going to sell it. The VERY NEXT DAY, the Noble's Tunic+1 was listed on the auction house and JP crafters across the server banned NA players from commissions for what must have been over a year. On the flip side, it was amazing how quickly the JP community helped me get a piece of my White Mage relic gear. I couldn't get anyone on NA to help me. I asked my Japanese friend for help thinking we could duo it, and 16 other people showed up out of nowhere to help me!
JP: “got what I only needed - ty!” NA: “yoink”
normally week 1 i will just roll for ilvl boost even if it's not my BIS. But i still follow the 1 item rule. Week 2 onwards i will only roll on my BIS and pass everything. But saying the above, i always lost every of my rolls with single digit for 1st 3 weeks XD .1st 3 week i always never get a roll higher than 10 . Karma for being greedy..lol

This is Left to Right, its mostly popular in JP and in Materia, (most people raiding in Materia did come from elemental with some who came from NA adapting). people who take all when parties are clearly stated as L > R are actually very shunned on. basically, you roll from the leftmost loot peice first, you win the peice, you leave the instance or pass on all other loot. it applies from fight to fight. when i do PF parties until the loot cap is lifted, i often do L > R since it gives everyone a fair chance on the loot that people needs.

Man, I don't PF often but it'd be cool if we did that in EU but one guy would rather risk all or nothing than having a higher chance at 1 piece of gear, I think that's classic western mentality honestly. That was my main concern for reducing book costs, there's a higher chance I gotta use books to gear in my static as we're funnelling the DPS, but as long as they're willing to stick around for gearing alt jobs I don't mind so much but I swear if they start wanting to skip when done with a turn for main jobs after I used all my books I won't be too impressed as chances of me gearing in EU pf with my roles is slim.

I talked a really smooth PF group into doing this since we 2 shot P9S week 1 on monday. They were all happy and it was awesome :D.
I don't do endgame raids right now... but honestly. I'm NA and I always pass on stuff I don't need. I feel special now. lol
Wait I do that tho if I don’t need it I pass on the loot. I thought most people do that.
OCE does this too - there's.... its weird. It's like all the good parts of NA/EU/JP all came to OCE. L > R loot but with the "i'm sticking it out mentality" instead of one food disband/calling last because you wiped 3 times. It's a waaaaaaaaaay smaller community, but a lot more close knit raiding scene which is both a good thing and a bad thing; if you're a fuckwit, EVERYONE is going to know and not want to raid with you. Like I've had people join groups I'm in for some savages/ults and I'm just chilling in VC with friends, and one of them goes OH FOR FUCK SAKES NOT THIS GUY and we all just go ALRIGHT, SPILL THE BEANS - I frequently have friends who raided on NA saying "holy shit I don't miss raiding there" and "bro why are the bad players on materia still better than the bad players on NA" and it just cracks me up coming over from JP. You get macros that don't... explaaaaain fights, but neatly condense it show your positions for the fight, for that role. So if I called D1 I know who my partner is off rip for partner mechanics ect; there's no confusion. 10/10 enjoyable experience. p.s I'm Australian. Sorry for the F bombs LMAO.

From my experience (personal and seeing others), people are usually inclined to stick longer if the party is promising, and if it's a practice PF for a middle mech, and then set hard rules like 1 food disband/3 wipes before (insert certain mech) to push clear or prog, even the latter has ppl sticking out sometimes if someone only made a slight oopsie and if the specific mech is encountered within first two pulls or so.The hard disband rule mostly comes into effect when you know that one person or two is consistently wiping the party and is a trap. But doing Extreme via DF is a non negotiable 3 wipe disband though lol.

@@lepops8728 preeeeettyyyyy much. It's like if it's a totem party for ex6 and people brick gales 2 HAHA. People will call last there. But if it's easthogg prog in DSR and there's meteor memes people are fine with it because... Sometimes you just get cursed and it sucks, cuz everyone's gotta learn that at some point. Depends on the content yeah.
Wait... That rules only exists in elemental server?!
N.A./EU mind set mine mine mine mine
It seems like I've been naive, but I never roll for loot that I dont need
yeah its called L>R we do it on oce too
Idk why theres even like group loot pulls. Why not just every player have their own loot.
Japan is all about that respect, when those guys got outed as cheaters on TOP they quit the game because they weren't going to find a group ever again so o believe this

More like all about that public shame.

Being obsessed with rules is not the same as respect. They were sending that team death threats. They're also notorious for kicking non japanese people out of parties

@@marslara if its the recent drama, if i were a japanese, i would also be mad of these prog liars, i can't blame them..
Yes we really do that...
They should change it back tbh. One loot each week would be better then less chests depending on who cleared.
