As a woman, I would love to have a relationship like that. I believe that's how it should be.

A man has been in my life 2 years. His wife deceased (3yrs). I'm divorced (20yrs). We're very close but not had sex yet. He's never really committed to me. We lived near one another. He visited 2-3 x a week. I moved 10 kms away to live with my daughter. I have private accomm. I'm 76 yrs old, retired. He's a Fin Advisor and still works (69 yrs old) deals with many women clients. Ex sportsman, well known, doesn’t mind being seen in public with me, very comfortable. Constantly compliments me. I really like him but very frustrated. Phones me 2-3 x a day + couple hrs at night but no longer visits. I have not met his family. Says 2 grown daughters (40s) will be unhappy if he dates. Mourns his wife deeply celebrates every anniversary. In the beginning he used to bring me flowers every 2 months but no longer does.

I would convert your interactions with him to being friends. Perhaps he just isn’t going to go further. Maybe become less available to him, in a friendly way, not rude. See what happens?

@@cheekytitaableI agree. Sometimes if you cut contact briefly and have a mindset that it’s ok if we’re just friends or he never comes back. Because he may not. But usually if they’re interested at all it will cause them to miss you and seek you out further. But either way you’ll know. If you truly want a romance it may not be with him. He doesn’t seem too vested.

I am alpha bc i have always been alone supporting my kids/self and never had someone to depend on. So now how do i change?? I am what i am and yes i take care of my man. Not monetarily but every other way although i let him open doors, pour my drink, carry my luggage etc….. still don’t know how to be taken care of as i do feel my needs aren’t being met yet i will not give up my control

In fact, I had to apply for a mortgage for him to simply take over the house because he had never gotten a mortgage himself and was too intimated to start the process. Like you, I've seen women become completely helpless by allowing men to control everything. So your question was how do you let go of the need to be in control. I'm in a new relationship with a very chivalrous man who has a need to feel needed. I like allowing him to feel needed and valued by me because it makes him happy and makes me feel like Cinderella. I have graduate degrees, a good paying job, 3 rental houses, a lake house and boat, and do not need a man in any way whatsoever. But I recognize what is said in this video as truth. So I step back in as many ways as I can, let him lead and feel worthy of respect while knowing in my heart that I can do anything he does myself. I just happen to like it that my guy wants to treat me like a princess so I appreciate him like a prince. So maybe realize the real gift your man needs and value him enough to allow him that gift. You don't have short change yourself in any way when you know your real capacity to be independent.

You are so amazing, with your insight and knowledge . I do struggle with receiving, and don't want to feel like I am taking too much without giving back. I have lived in survival mode emotionally,for so long and I have had to be in my masculine raising my kids. I want to receive, but feel like I need to do my part of giving. I don't want my boyfriend to start thinking I am needy, because I definitely am not a needy lady, but want to be loved and treated like a queen. I know my worth, but don't want to come across,as anyone owes me anything, because I am a woman.Please help with how to navigate my thoughts. 🙏🦋

You know people appreciate things more when they have worked and earned the money to pay for them And if the relationship doesn't work out, a woman is trapped if she has no money of her own. With money she can fly to the other side of the world and start a new life !

I dont tend to give to my husband to receive his love. I never buy him gifts, etc. However, how are we to run a household with children? Is he supposed to be the one who provides 100% financially, as well as cook, do laundry, and clean the house...while I chillax? You want to let him lead you and do those things when he ASKS you to do them, however if you still really want to you can ask him if he wants you to do those things and also look to the overall relationship if you are giving or receiving more

I have been praying for ten years to bring to me a humble man I have not been successful.. I was married twice I was seeing my 2 and husband for years only for sex he says he doesn't want comments I forgave him for cheating thinking he was going threw a lot and would change .it shames me thank God I didn't get my self sick ... physically but mentally I'm broke.

I asked my new boyfriend what size shirt he wears and his answer was Oh nooo you don’t have to give me anything.

Also, there are very masculine kings out there who love a feminine woman that also cares for him and gives back. There 100% are men like this out there because I have one. But yes, obviously let him also be a provider.

I think the woman and the Man should share chores.

My partner is very tight with money, not because he doesn't have it. If I wait for him to give, I can wait ..forever because he rarely if not, never asked me out to a coffee, lunch, or dinner. If I wanted to het together, I offered some lunch or dinner. He happily reciprocate, sad. .

This is emotional neglect. You grew up with it so you wouldn’t know it if it bit you in the face. Realize it for what it is. Leave him. He is neglecting you.
