d5 was such a beautiful move under so much pressure I cant imagine the guts it takes for even Ding Liren to play that move during the WCC

I love the board!!😍 is this the home version of the board or the official FIDE one? i can't distinguish them on the site, because it's difficult to evaluate the scale just from the mesurement

C3 in the opening is a very important move in my opinion. It limits the knights future to the d4 pawn. C3 is preventative to C2 attacks later on while taking space, while defending a pawn (solidifying the center), while opening the queen. That’s a lot in such a small move- chess is beautiful.

  • @burneraccountnoyes8625

It limits c2 attacks by revoking the coordination of knight and white square bishop when the knight is on b4 or d4 since the pawn on C3 now defends those squares. Just to clarify what I meant by limiting the knight.

He had the rooks in position to protect the queen. The queen would be free to move out of white queens sight and be able to clear out material. You would also alow sleeping rook to if moves followed smoothly with some sacrifice being made but ultimately i think would be a good stand.

The board is really nice. But they actually used a DGT board for the championship, not this one. But still, this one is almost the exact same. Just wanted to give you the heads up.
