I can agree with that. Got banned earlier and I was not cheating at all thats why I was very angry because I know for a fact I wont get un-banned very bad state the game has got to now. Legit players get banned and the cheaters are still playing.

@Patrizio99 nope I don't have AMD. The game is seriously broken I would avoid playing it till it is fixed. I have already gotten intouch with steam support but I doubt they will do anything, I had no files on my pc or cheats and I got VACed which is very strange.

Those videos where a guy made made a fake cheat and was screwing with hackers was essentially just doing the same thing except it would make macros instead of adjust frame caps.

This same reason is why I think it's insane to install cheats, so much cheating is literally malware for yourself too. Those tarkov cheats that were going around for example, that g0at guy who downloaded cheats and exposed them, it turns out those same cheats had the ability to brick the whole pc (if I recall only the ssd died tho).

What will you do when you don't get unbanned for tempering engine functions with AMD's antilag+? As these bans also occurred within different games, Valve is in their right to point to their ToS, which obviously would not happen. But let's say if that happens, what would you do? I mean 100k is no small amount... I mean those guys with m_jaw command abusers are still not unbanned after 29 days..

Man this is crazy, they should at least leave a message in game trying to advise people, or even AMD but oh well...

Just to add some information dor full context. That driver was up for like 4 day or so and by that 4th day it for was shown on amds page for download, but it would just not download. So not many people got it (also it was released mid week and also update is not se as on by default). Also there is a difference between antilag and antilag+. Antilag is supported on all and gpus (that can run somewhat recent drivers) and antilag+ is only present on RDNA3 (navi3x) gpus. So RX 7xxx generation. And also there is not as many of them. Also antilag or antilag+ is not enabled by default so people who upgraded to newer driver probably got away with it. The one "bad" part is, that AMD gpus are usually more likely to be bought by people who like to try new and sometimes broken stuff, so i would not expect number of banned people to be really small, but not crazy high. Like in low hundreds if even that. What im trying to say is, that if someone is banned i would expect this to be dealtwith quicly with no real slowdown from valve side. Also i find this hilarious, that a driver feature which does no give you any aim/view advantage is automatically banned and blatant wallers and aimboters are not..

@@Syping Considering that there are other games out there like apex and warzone banning people for using anti-lag+, I think the blame relies solely on AMD. I'm sure all these devs gave AMD guidance, but they likely said to hell with it and went their own way with implementing it.

just make sure Anti-Lag+ is disabled and you will be fine. i'm pretty sure regular Anti-Lag is unaffected.

I recently changed my GPU to nVidia. But two days ago, at 00:00 AMD Auto Update popped up out of nowhere. XD (I did use DDU & whatnot.)

AMD use to have a warning about the use of Anti Lag in online multiplayer games that could flag false bans. That was over a year ago though and haven't seen it since.

Happens that just with a AMD Graphiks Card or is is Possilble to get banned with an AMD CPU too?

amd just lost half of its CS2 playerbase

AMD actually pulled the driver from their server and it's no longer available to download. I was pretty lucky as I tried to download my latest drivers and kept getting an error saying it failed to download. I tried again an hour later and there was no driver to download. Sucks that people have been vac banned because of it.

people want a more intrusive VAC but that will come at a performance cost i am pretty sure. and i also don't think valorant or any of these other games have a better anti cheat.

so much for server side AI based anticheat called VAC live which matches new player accounts to play with old accounts that can't miss, can see through smoke... in addition to that they disabled overwatch and demos. perhaps the efficiency is so high from this anticheat that demos and overwatch are no longer needed.

For the love of god valve just give us community servers

From a cheater perspective, this also means almost free passage into engine.dll, which is widely used for aimbots if someone were to hijack AMDs antilag+.

Messing with .dll files will always trigger an Anticheat. VAC is doing what it's designed to do. Neither Valve or AMD should be blamed for this really. A simple software miss match. Fuck ups happen.

I think there is a point to be made that AMD should have tested out this feature enough to notice the miss match and fix it before releasing it to consumers. As u said doing anything with .dll files might trigger an anticheat and AMD knows that, thus they could have prevented this situation. But as long as the situation gets resolved everything is fine.

Nah it's definitely AMD's fault. It's common sense that modding .DLL files will trigger almost every anticheat. Since it's not just VAC that gets triggered but also ricochet and some other.

Valve tries to shift the blame to AMD by running VAC oversensetive, especially because Valve had to tell AMD ways to implement Anti-Lag+ in their game, because Valve had to give them a go

I still wait for my Win7 related ban apology knife ;P At least even the last Valve employee now knows about false bans being common now and you have at least a chance of getting unbanned. In CS1.6 or CSGO I would have lost faith, but in CS2 there are more false than legit bans atm as far as I can relate.

There's absolutely no way that's an automatic VAC, especially because I've been doing dumb shit like that in CS for 20 years now, strange how I haven't been hit by one. some cheats do that but not all, it depends on how they work, also bypassing VAC is possible, just not a permanent solution for cheats.

Most people using them nowadays are just using external. They don't mess with the game in any way, they just read information straight from memory and then use that info to make things like walls and aimbots. They don't write any process memory or mess around with the engine in any way, unlike anti-lag+. That's what makes them harder to detect.

Easiest way to not get banned in CS2...don't play the game :) after enough people will stop playing this shit, disappointment of a game, valve will finally give us intrusive VAC and better servers. As long as we keep playing without caring, we're gonna keep being pissed off and nothing changing.

I mean this is really AMDs fault. Nothing Valve could do or prevent. Every Anti-Cheat has basic checks for detouring functions as it's the easiest and most common way of creating cheats. Every Programmer knows this or could at least work it out. It's not ridiculous or insane. Someone at AMD really should have went "Hang on a minute, hooking engine functions? That'd trigger anti cheats!. If they didn't do checks for function hooking, there would be 100x more cheaters in CS2. Anyway, Valve has always been good at reversing false positives in the past.

This is why I stopped by AMD cards back in 2012 and won't buy them again, no matter what. Yeah, they are way better, but their drivers are still, in my opinion, hot turds.
