the tatra museam is really worth a visit great story telling
That car looks really cool! I had no clue it existed! Thanks for the video!
The 4th chassis (the one that was sold as a kit car) has been recetly imported to Poland and is beeing assembled right now. The owner has also bought a complete Tartra V8 car to use as a donor for certain parts.
It looks like a mix of a lfa, nsx, and a diablo really slick looking car. Was watching grand tour and Jeremy did a segment on a Czech hyper car that was beautiful!

The Czechoslovaks were absolute masters in designing durable and beautiful things, from cars and trucks to electronics and neckties. This MTX is beautiful.

One of the few cars I had never seen, nor heard about! Thanks!
Great video, i as a Czech would love for this car to become more recognisable worldwide.
This thing just exhudes 80s supercar wedge styling. Beautiful car in my eyes. Had never heard or known of it's existence before.
This car reminds me of an understated Vector
Nice Vid, Visio! Request for the next video: The argentine IKA-Renault Torino. A famous car that raced the famous 84 hours of Nürburgring, thanks to Fangio, who help to built those beauties.
Tatra was the Ur-Porsche. Hitler’s best bud copied Hans Ledwinka. Volkswagen and Porsche would literally not exist without his genius.

At least Tatra had the last laugh. After WWII Tatra successfully sued Porsche for infringement of design. If I remember correctly it was settled out of court so Porsche could keep it on the down low.

@@franzkoviakalak6981 I just found an interesting article called "The Shady Origins of the VW Beetle and why They’d Prefer not to Talk About It". The actual amount was even less $1M. But at least it permanently shows that Hans Ledwinka as being the rightful inventor of this technology and Porsche not as smart as it seems. Seeing that he stooped to ripping off a fellow engineers intellectual property.

Wouldn't be a Tatra without an air-cooled V8! God bless Tatra! :D
So glad that you highlighted this car. I seriously got into Tatra almost 10 years ago with my fascination of the T series military trucks. Along the way I came across this supercar and thought - wow, if the west only knew what it was missing. So nice to see that the cars still exist and are being well cared for and used.
Thanks mate for highlighting Tatra, people that don’t know now know 🤙
It sounds like a truck, and I mean that in the best way. Strange combo the supercar design and the V8 truck sound
Really enjoyed this video. These types of cars and oddities are one of the reasons i love this channel! I've been a subscriber for many years, keep it up!
Never heard about this one. Awesome video dude as always
Finally, been waiting for a video on this car for so long. If only the fourth car was found...
Yes I remember the Tatra. They sounded great.
Thanks again! Beautiful idea ...hopefully coming alive again :-)
Do you even know how unknown these cars are to us in the west? You do a great service.
Interesting design! I can see some Diablo, Vector, XJ220, Zonda and even Konigsegg in there, even though most of these weren't even out yet at that time!!!!
I actually knew the Tatra MTX V8 before, but the Innotech Mysterro at 5:50 blew my mind!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Had to google Lens it!! Thank you for adding to my vehicle and/or engine knowledge every single time!!! You should get your own TV show!
This thing looks AMAZING! I love the front end with the large pop up headlights! We desperately need to bring pop up headlights back tbh.

@@TheMadYetti yeah but they also say that a massive SUV with a brick wall for a grille is perfectly okay for safety. If these regulations made even an ounce of sense then SUVs, Crossovers and massive Pick up trucks would not exist, since they're the most unsafe vehicles on the road. Unfortunately they're very profitable though...
What a beautiful design....
Did they give up styling it once they reached the sides and rear
I consider my auto history rather extensive. I know all about Tatra. (The Lane Museum in Nashville, TN has the largest collection of Tatras, stateside) Not even I knew about this supercar!!!
Perhaps not super-beautiful. Very 80' and aged look for today. But supercar with air cooled engine? One and only in the world. Beautiful piece by engeenering and idea!
I'd love to see a modern iteration of this car. Keep the air-cooled V8 and genuine manual trans, the generally simple yet still elegant aero styling, give it an updated interior, some suspension updates (think Ascari KZ1), and tighten up those wheel gaps.
That sound of that V8 is mean AF!
Still a great looking car. The styling has really held up for decades.
Skvele video ako vzdy. ..o Tatrach mam najradsej 🥰
Super video! Paráda! 😊
Very Lotus Esprit looking and the O.Z. Future wheels suit it nicely
Great video 🙂 Really like these odd cars. The sound is just music!
I had no idea this car existed. Very cool and a shame it did not get more attention.
Damn I want one of these, even if its a replica! Damn thats a cool looking and good sounding car!
OMG, the legendary Metalex Tatra!
I have the sports car international magazine that did a article on it during 90/91
Beautiful car especially the Red one, and the white looked really cool, I think the black was the least suitable color for the body shaped cause it erases the very clean curves it has and provides a blurry image shape. That body I think will look even better with vibrant vivid colors like yellow, bright green, bright mclaren orange etc The sound of the Tatra V8 is just marvellous! Brutal and smooth at the same time... Cheers from Greece!
It looks very nice 🔥
VISIO!!! Please make a video about the special 5 valve engines and the sounds they make, as very few engines got this design. A few that come to mind are: Toyota 4age, Bugatti Eb110 motor, Yamaha 450r, yamaha yfz250r, yamaha R1, Audi1.8 20v, Ferrari F355, 360 and F50, Skoda Octavia vRS. Thanks!!!
Really like the look of that, very 90s but looks so good.
Great vidéo, I never heard about it before thanks ❤❤❤❤❤
Air cooled v8? That’s f’n awesome
To me it looks better than the German frogmobile though it’s just a matter of preference Reminds me of the McLaren and a few Jaguars. Seen some pics before but haven’t seen any good footage before
Nothing beats an aircooled Tatra V8 for sounding like a beast from hell. (or maybe, just maybe the Beast of Turin itself...)
Its literally a doorstop on wheels, but good lord is that thing cool! Imagine rocking up to a car meet in this, what a flex!
very interresting topic about a car not that much peoples would knew about. I had a weyrd feeling while looking at this car, it was like i was looking at a mashup between brands like Ventury, Aston, and Chevrolet
What a slick looking car! Very good lines.
Konečne! ❤
Beautiful car, still looks pretty futuristic considering its an early 90's car and an air cooled v8 how neat
Impressive that they plan to launch those!
Beautiful design

How about a vid on the Russian Mirov II super car? A guy in Britain has a running example.

The simplest rear wing would make this car look 10 times better.
Pity more weren't built that is a nice looking car.. and more reliable than the competition of it's time
Looks great, got that 90s look.
Great video about a *really* nice car! Interesting history also, and so sad, that it all ended with a burnt down factory right after the sale. I wonder, what they could have achieved, if they would be still producing sports cars today!

The '90s were the golden age of supercars.
Time 310 Make note of the interesting steering arrangement where the rank and pinion is operating a bell crank then the other end of the bell crank operates the tie rods.
it looks like a pair of Bugatti eb110, the one from the Italian period.
I like the taillights, like an old school Scania truck
I was briefly considering buying a used Tatra 613 in 90s. Pak jsem si ale pořídil M3 instead.
Looks like a mix of Lamborghini Diablo and Bugatti EB110, with a little NSX added to the mix.
Tatra’s use of air cooled V8’s goes back to at least the 1930’s.

The driver, Taki Inoue, had his leg broken by the impact with the Tatra. He really wanted to be taken to the hospital by helicopter rather than by ambulance, but was told they couldn’t use the helicopter before the race had finished. He therefore ended up waiting for an hour with a broken leg just so he could get a helicopter ride. Taki Inoue’s brief career was full of strange moments like that.

Do you use a or an before C? If you pronounce a letter as a letter and it begins with a vowel sound, you should precede it with an. The consonants with vowel sounds include f, h, l, m, n, r, s, and x. The real rule is this: You use the article "a" before words that start with a consonant sound and "an" before words that start with a vowel sound.
Kinda looks like a jaguar XJ220 a Nissan 300ZX, a McLaren F1, an RX7, an NSX, and a sketchy Ferrari kit car morphed into one thing. Or, a botched jaguar XJR-15 replica. Something about the proportions is a tad off. If you look at a lot of super cars, you’ll notice a trend where the backend tapers down into the back wheels. They are also, more often than not, much shorter than the front ends in more angular supercars. There are some exceptions to this: nsx, corvette,…that’s all I can think of atm and, it sorta gives off this “It doesn’t look like a super car but, I cannot really figure out why” vibe. And the few exceptions I can think of for this is the Porsche 959, and the XJ220 so, I think it may have to do with that taper than the length in a lot of cases as, with the taper, it can sorta look Le Mans like or, simply fast as hell as the car looks like it’s moving, even while parked (if that makes any sense). I dunno tho. I’m kinda just tryna figure out why my first response to the side profile was “meeeeeeeehhhhh”, even tho it vaguely resembles a lot of my favourite cars from that era.
Were they planning on selling it at "a local shop, for local people" too?
Nice one! 👍💪✌

@@VisioRacer The image in the video of the cylinder barrel look very similar to VW or dare I say a Porsche. How similar was this motor to the VW and Porsche motors in construction? Is the head cast individually like the Porsche motors or is it cast as a bank? Why did they decide to go in a V configurations as opposed to a flat or 180° figuration. Who is the designer of this engine and what other things did he do before this engine? How does this the weight of this engine compare to other similar horsepower engines from that the period?
I would like to see this resurrected!
