Little girls actually grow up adoring their geek father's. It won't be lost on her or a waste of effort. Well done, Dad!

When he was ordering this a few grand machine he told wife it.s for a girl to cut new toys 😅
I don`t think that they could have asked for a better advertisement for laymen ! Good stuff !
Don’t forget you can use the other part as a stencil for drawing :)
I used to work on industrial CO2 lasers. They were 150 or 250 watts. We would focus the beam and put holes in the filters of cigarettes for dilution. Some times 18 to 20 hole each cigarette, making 8,000 or 16,000 cigs a minute depending on machine. So they had to be high powered to pulse that fast. We used gypsum targets for burn tests, would align the laser with a helium neon laser, and a watt meter to adjust the power. Those nipples on the glass tubes would sometimes break off when changing or repairing hoses. A new laser tube would be about $4k usd and we would break about 10 a year. We had a suggestion plan at the company and I put in a suggestion to fix those nipples by sending them to a scientific glass blower. He was in town and would fix them for $150 to $200 bucks. So I saved the company $40,000 a year, and the suggestion award to me was $4k. Fun times.

I did a similar thing at a company I worked for where we tested returned TV boxes, and we had to test all the rear ports, which then had yellow, white, red. We would stack them and use the same jacks customers would by plugging in two stacks of ports. It was tedious and time-consuming. I came up with an idea of hot gluing all the jacks together, creating one plug. Saved time, time is money. Company gave me nothing. I work for myself now.

Sucks when they're willing to buy spare parts worth a whole lot but can't adequately reward an employee who saved them all that money. I found that the clever thing to do is to offer that YOU will get them fixed and then charge them double what it costs to fix it.

So you worked for Big Laser, huh? Lol
Nicely done. Loved what you did for your little girl, especially with a brand new sibling. It's so easy for them to feel left out even when they aren't. Way to go, dad.
This looks like a very sophisticated and no doubt expensive barbecue grill.

I was about to write a "a glorified BBQ grill" but just wanted to check if anyone was ahead of me on that thought and bingo!

Yeah but the stripes on your steak are super precise !
Amazing. I still remember the first time I used an ATM and money came out of the wall. It felt like science fiction. Now this gizmo. Thanks for helping me keep abreast of the times ☺
I'm from Yemen and I seen all your videos love you man u r amazing
My favourite channel by a mile! Bravo sir
I love this. Not only is Mr NYW an outstanding craftsman, he's a loving Dad. Humanity and humility combined with excellence. I'm blown away. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Mad Max fade out .... Brilliant 😄
Now imagine what you could create if that laser jobby was attached to your big cutty jobby, could be quite the laser workbench... :P
2:27 You know, I was about to say that’s a hell of a funny looking toilet seat when I realized it was for a potter’s wheel.
I am constantly impressed that ultra-modern technology still only just about manages to keep pace with your ability to find uses for it. Nice.
I know it’s about building stuff, but the text humour is off the charts. I genuinely laugh at/with your videos.
If you could do a tutorial on actually printing literal money, that would be handy.
You are the right person to run this laser machine. Tinker on my friend! Can’t wait to see what you thoughtfully create next. Congrats on the new baby too!
From the moment you started up the CNC I knew you were making top plates for a Thorens! My first real turntable was a TD160, so I suppose I should :) Great stuff as always, Russ, and what a machine! I am learning so much from watching your channel, as CNC, laser etc is really something I'd like to get into. Greetings from The Yorkshire Coast!
It's 3:00 am and I see that you've posted a video 58 minutes ago and my curiosity takes over any common sense I have
Always impressed.
Love the paper bags!
I was asking, "But does it have a crumb tray like a toaster?" and, "Yes!" the answer is "Yes"
Blow guy at the end is a sure way to coat the mirrors with junk and then burn it onto the mirrors. My 200w CO2 gets it's mirrors and linear rails cleaned regularly, the rest not so much. The burning of wood is heat buildup, especially from burning and burnt material, a higher pressure nozzle on the tip clears much of this away before it transfers to the surrounding material.
very nice. next project; a rolling cabinet with storage for your new toy. (i mean tool!)
I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this video. Gracias!
Even the paint colour is cool!
What an amazing machine....thanks for the demonstration.
"Discreet brown paper bags" ...??? I didn't realise you were that kind of craftsman. ;)
Hope I’m not over exaggerating here, but I’m expecting a vid on a manned mission to Jupiter in a few episodes time! Thanks for sharing btw!!
That was really impressive Russ, especially the good dad brownie points winner at the end - Thanks for sharing
This is a great tool that has so many uses including template making, signage, modelling, toys, tabbed ply construction, and of course HiFi. I REALLY want one!
Russ! Great video and awesome to see that xTool sent it you for free. I'm sure they wont be disappointed in your video, as it looks an awesome bit of kit. Lovely touch for Junior Russ! 🙂
Thanks KZread, that was fun to watch! And thanks to you, dude, that was most excellent.
What a piece of kit!! Thank you for sharing.
When you lifted the cover and looked at the sciency bits reminded me of the weekend. I did exactly exactly the same under the bonnet of the the new car. More wires than a 1970’s telephone exchange. No idea what 90% does but it goes nicely
Very nice bit of kit, indeed! Thanks for sharing this great new tech. Now I want one.
The camera under the lip of the lid is such a great idea.
What an amazing piece of kit
Now that is one cool tool!
Weird choice for the way to access the anti-freeze tank... Couldn't they have added a hatch to that corner instead of requiring partial disassembly? Feels odd with such a well done machine. Even that "fall through" tray at the end surprised me, that's really clever. And that photo feature for aligning is also super cool.

It's also a feature in Lighturn you can use with a webcam and pretty much any laser lightburn can control - still cool, but not exactly a USP (sorry that's come out a bit rant-y don't mean to be, just pointing it out.)
Once more you show us you intend to keep up with technology, which you do admirably. Great to watch thanks for taking time to film your work 👍
I press like before viewing as I know the content will be supreme
Excellent work 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦

Quality workmanship Quality video
Excellent work as always
GREAT VID.
Impressive on so many levels! 👍
@11:15 loved the reference to Primitive Technology!
the UV printer we have is 1250 x 2500mm working area and up to 50mm depth
Nice gift for the little one (and for you!)
Excellent work as always 👍 😊 … “Not Gongo” … cracked me up 🤣
That's really packaged well!
That is an awesome machine... and I thought the black Thorens cover plates were really cool. Have fun with your new machine - I think that it is really fantastic 👍🙂
When I built my own turntables some 45 years ago I used rub on transfer symbols. This what you do looks much better!
It's insane what a consumer has available these days!
TIP. To get a heavy thing out of a box, tip the whole thing upside down, lift the box off the item then turn heavy thing right side up! Simples!😉😁
Pretty impressive thanks for sharing it

Yeah made me laugh too!
Nice bit of kit.
what a good bit of kit, well sorted.
For flat stock consider mounting the dust shoe at a fixed height from the bed - not fixed to Z. Though I guess you lifted it for us to see something 😄
Nice new tool!
Fantastic machine.
Selling to people who are into vinyl sure is a licence to print money
Single flute are the right choice but If you switch to DLC coated or similar bits, you'll get increased feeds and speeds and cleaner cuts. On 1mm you shoudl easily it 2000mm per minute with a 4mm DLC, and a really clean cut 1st go without any need for a finish pass.
I expect those record player parts paid for the cutter, knowing the over-inflated prices hi-fi equipment commands. Especially with the vinyl snobs. My dad lost the rubber drive band for his Mitchell Girodec, £25 for a long rubber band which looks suspiciously a big sealing washer and probably cost fractions of pennies from the manufacturer.
What a cool science thingy machine. I guess your imagination could run wild with it?
about time.. welcome back
The camera feature is a good idea. Funny place for the E-stop though.
Hello! A very good purchase .
Great machine. These enclosed ones are way safer than the diode lasers. I really worry about blinding myself or someone unexpectedly coming into the room with a diode laser job running. The glasses they provide with them are really dodgy. Also the camera on this unit is awesome, I'd have loved to have that when doing jobs on the industrial co2 lasers I used to use. Might need to see about buying one of these...
I look forward to your videos
amazing machine
Great stuff!
That was great to watch even though I had no idea what he was doing ! Also, it was great to have a video so soon after the other. We normaly have to wait to long to enjoy these :-))
How many must aspire to your level...most, if not all!
Excellent !
. That science thingy Is crazy..awesome ya goofy m8te from Australia
watched a few laser cutter videos, this has a few features that the others dont and looks a little more polished, prices have certainly come down from when i last considered a desktop co2 laser, they wanted 10 to 12 grand for a 30watt laser a few years ago. alwaqys enjoy your videos, cheers.
I don’t consider the title being click bait. The Xtool allows the user to manufacture products to a high standard that you can sell on your online store.
0:24 I see he has the same controller taste as the oceangate crew
Excelente máquina Saludos desde Santiago de Chile.
i like how they added in some pieces of acrylic. i'd be the kind of person to order the laser and wait for it to show before ordering material. then stuck staring at a brand new laser i can't use until the material shows up.
Awesome 😃👍
turntable base that's a good Thornes unit
Awesome ❤
Something tells me you will build your own bigger machine capable to cut through walnut with easy within a year 😊
09:07 Me too! 😀
Amazing gadget 👍
Impressive.👍🏼
If you increase your axial stock to leave on your finish pass when cutting those small parts you wont have to screw them down. No axial load when breaking through the final side means they wont go flying across the shop haha
A wired network connection is always preferable, in my book.
All you're missing now is a frikkin' shark to mount this thing to.
Awesome.
Good stuff as always . UV printing the graphics is an option . If used with a hardener it is rock solid (marabu P5) and affords a very fine detail, we have one to print onto glass.( Oce Arizona flat bed) on another topic, have you ever thought to a made wood top element for the Technics Sl 1200 series ? somebody does it in italy but it is not marketed very well, whilst it is perhaps not for hi-fi purists, the scale of sales of this unit makes it by far the most popular turntable ever produced,it can be done and it would sell in numbers.
It seems pretty well built, although way too expensive for my taste. I also think you should be able to cut thicker transparent acrylic than the one you tested. I have an ordinary K40 and it cuts 6mm in one pass without problems. I like the other features, too. I'm currently working on the adjustable head height/focus, although I doubt I'm smart enough to implement that curved object cutting/engraving...
Wish I had room for one of these.
great video dude, i want one!
The reason the 18mm walnut failed, is that design can only be cut out of maple. Also, you have to be Canadian.
