I completely respect your way of dressing, but I think that if something is not safe in the water in terms of swimming, it shouldn't be used in water this deep. Fabric covering your mouth and nose can be pretty dangerous, in addition to the weight. I know that this was a controled environment, but please be cautious and stay safe.

Yeah, I agree my mom is just a hijabi but we go swimming in the summers in Morroco, if it's a pool we have a private pool for women, but if it's the beach she bought a swimming suit for hijabis that I bought as well, to swim which doesn't have too much to loose so to avoid any danger of hanging. In Europe, my aunt and mother go swimming at night when lights but nobody are swimming, so we feel free there with the sun setting. Just want to share. ❤️

when I was a kid I was in a swimming course and as part of the safety lessons we had to put on a lot of heavy clothes, like big socks, big pants, heavy jacket etc and jump into the pool. Our instructor was right there with us, holding us up/guiding us and she made a really fun game out of it where you had to get in and out of the wet clothes as fast as possible but it was meant to show us how even a good swimmer can struggle when being weighed down by clothes and that we should always be careful and not overestimate our abilities when being near water because with clothes on its different.

This is the kind of thing where I start drawing lines on what's "too modest". These are safety issues. Those loose layers (doesn't matter if it's swimsuit material), the covering over the nose and mouth... you genuinely could drown if something went wrong. I'll let my daughters make their own decisions to a point, but just like I wouldn't allow them to go in public naked, I wouldn't allow them to go swimming dressed like this.

I can’t help but wonder: with the niqab on, aren’t you systematically drawing MORE attention to yourself, especially in the water? Niqab is supposed to ensure women stay invisible and safe from men’s eyes, but in my opinion, niqab works best in environments where everyone is wearing a niqab. For example, Saudi Arabia. In a setting where no one but you wears a niqab, you will be drawing all eyes to yourself, even though your aim was the opposite. Let’s just give this a thought ❤️ No hate though, love what you do sis!

@@anonymousanonymous870 there are two opinions: 1: it is recommended but not obligatory 2: it is obligatory to wear I follow the second opinion. I respect if others follow the 1st one and don't have a problem with it as long as they dress appropriately and not too tight or beautified etc. (Same with niqab) and also behaving in a modest way. But the very least I expect from others to also respect us who follow the second opinion. I don't want to imagine the outrage if I was constantly trying to convince others that they have to wear the niqab completely ignoring that there are 2 valid opinions. Respect goes both ways. I was wearing niqab before moving to an Arab country and still wear it.

I don't think people quite understand. This isn't what she would normally wear in every pool. There are often female-only pools so that women can remove their face veils and swim comfortably and safely. This is more of a one-off example.

She clearly is super close to her religion, and you have no right to come in there and basically ruin that telling her that her religion is “wrong” or “risky” yk what that does to a person? I cant even with the comment sections they get. It’s the same kind of people over and over again telling them their religion is hard. Like okay bro, if it’s too hard for your lazy ass then just don’t participate in it, okay? That’s all I had to say.

I feel for my sisters in many other countries. From where I'm from, many public swimming pools have girl days/hours so it'll be more comfortable for us hijabi/niqabi women to swim. I applaud at least that they allowed you to swim in your attire. Some hacks for hijabi women in places where there are no women only swimming pools: rent with your family or with your girfriends a place that has a private secluded swimming pool. Not the best solution, but it's at least something 🙏
