If you've never done it, I highly recomend swimming without a swim cap. It's even more calming than running water over your head in the shower

Agreed I cover my hair in public and around people I don't no well, so I wear a swim cap at public pools and beaches regardless of who is there, but while I love swimming in general and still enjoy it it comes no where close to going to a family member or close friend's house that has a pool and being able to swim with my hair down the feeling of the water flowing threw it is so relaxing it's one of my favorite things in this world

I have a question; If a muslim woman starts to get heat exhaustion or sunstroke while she’s wearing clothing like this, is she allowed to remove some of it if she is around men? If so, how much is appropriate?

Yes of course. Health comes first💕 Allah doesn’t burden a soul more than it can bear. If she is suffocating in her niqab, of course she can remove it🤍

yeah everyone i’ve spoken to and everything i’ve read has said health comes first over everything. obviously it’s preferable if they can do so in a private area but if it’s an emergency male paramedics, doctors/nurses etc. the focus becomes about your health way more than your modesty :) upon rereading your question i think you’re asking more so if it’s a question of discomfort more than a medical emergency, in that situation it comes down to how comfortable the woman is with removing garments. there isn’t really a complete across the board rule (beyond hair but some muslim women don’t follow that either)

She doesn’t expect women to wear anything that they don’t want to. She does this for herself. She has non hijab friends with no judgement so I’m not sure where this comment of yours is coming from. She can be a very strict Muslim for her own self, without pushing her religion onto others. Just as anyone else can with their own religions.

Walaikumassalam warahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, I do not mean to be intrusive, but may I ask why she won't let you wear hijab? Have you tried asking for proper reasoning? I would recommend trying to convince her by telling her the importance of hijab and how it can change you for the better. Just start by wearing it only to some places, like school, and then slowly start wearing it normally. Try giving your mother time to get used to your hijab. Remember it is your decision and no one can impose the hijab on you, or stop you from wearing it. Hope this helps :)

I think living in the West should be all the more reason to wear your hijab because it is your identity as a Muslim woman and anyone who recognizes you as Muslim will avoid you anyways because you won't fit their definition of "fun". You will get curious/weird looks as people there find it unusual, but on the whole, the hijab should help you avoid all the wrong people easily. I do understand you mother's view, but blending in will only make you a pushover, you should live your life by your own terms. Try explaining it to your mother this way, maybe she will come around

The definition of scholar in any field is just someone who is knowledgeable in a particular branch of study, and in this context its someone who dedicated some of their life into studying Islam and its rules and thats by reading and comprehending all the sources given which includes the Quran (Holy book) and Hadeeth (Prophet's sayings). They study and interpret the context, time and place, when and where something was particularly said to understand the ruling behind it, and as Muslims we obviously are expected to read and understand things without blindly following and so here comes the role of scholars, and because not everything is in black and white and different scholars interpret things differently (obviously this is to do with small differences like the way some things are supposed to be done) we are bound to come across those differences and its up to individual Muslims to follow the ruling we feel it makes more sense after reading. Hope this cleared things up!

Other scholars say it is not compulsory, you read the different scholar opinions and arrive to your own. I personally after reading don’t believe its compulsory but i don’t want to impose my opinions

What is allowed is allowed. You chose to be more modest than what Allah has dictated. That is called bida. Or you just have psychological scarring from bieng forced to wear the ninja mask that isn't really a part of Islam.
You people are too obsessed with the women's body. A normal salwar suit will also cover you. You people have taken modesty too far. Anything which goes to extreme is psycho.
