I think Hikaru was taking advantage by more people than just Airi cause in the panel where Hikaru was talking about being taken of they showed multiple hands reaching out towards Hikaru not just Airi’s. They also showed many figures who representing the many people who took advantage of Hikaru when he was a kid. Which makes me think that Hikaru isn’t the true villain of this story and the real villain is the corruptness of the world shown through the despicable things that go on in the entertainment industry

If nino really did do something to Hikaru he probably wouldn’t be working with her. Nino and Hikaru seem to be only working together because they have common interests. Plus adult Hikaru wouldn’t be able to take advantage of since he knows better than his younger self. It’s more likely that Hikaru is manipulating Nino by using her resentment of Ai to further his goals

It was wonderful to see the interaction between Hikaru and Aqua. But, it's also sad to see that people are misjudging Ai now. This is who she is, and it has been said from the start. Ai couldn't commit, she couldn't love properly. I still believe Ai did a great thing confronting Airi and helping Hikaru cope with the pain. But this doesn't mean that she signed up to be someone's therapist. This is why teenagers need to have self-esteem. Hikaru didn't have any self-development, and thus he craved for Ai's love. His love for her was nothing but pure dependence. It's infuriating that he calls it affection. Ai just led a sad life which ended tragically. Even after the breakup, she never displayed any harsh emotions towards Hikaru, and even called him to meet Aqua and Ruby. Ai had to wear a mask always. The world saw her as a beautiful doll. Hikaru saw her as his salvation. Aqua and Ruby saw their mother as an invincible, legendary idol with no flaws. Even the fans of this manga fail to see her any differently. It's not her fault, it's the people's fault for not realising who the individual Ai Hoshino is. That's why, I think Ruby's character is much better than Aqua in many ways, she realised that her mom was just vulnerable. But this doesn't make her weak, Ai was strong, beautiful and a legendary character. Hikaru just killed off the mother of his children, the girl who helped him once without a thought because of his personal hatred. Hikaru is evil, that's it. He was willing to murder Ai whilst she was pregnant (but it ended with the doctor instead). Aqua and Ruby were only kids back when she died, and they could've been hurt as well. He didn't care about that at all. This man now goes on killing other talented actresses, was going to hurt his daughter as well JUST so that noone could surpass Ai. I too dislike that Ai had an intimate relationship with Hikaru despite not truly wanting it. I don't know her reasons, but that was extremely wrong. She didn't have to kiss him, or have intercourse. It was wrong. She made a mistake, and that mistake cost her life. I don't support any justification in this case. But I can say one thing, lying is really not healthy and is going to get back at you. It's true that this was not cliche, but the normal "Ex-boyfriend kills superstar after she breaks up with him". If Hikaru's love for Ai was one-sided, then all the assumptions he made about her were one-sided as well.

The kid knew what was happening with him was terrible. He should have sought help from authorities. Instead he treaded down the path of vengeance. It's always our choices that define who we are, not our circumstances. He's a terrible person, regardless of how many people exploited him. Take for example that actress that he murdered, Yura Katayose. She probably did nothing but to turn down his offer to be his girlfriend and that set him off. Ai was a terrible person no doubt, but Hikaru is a whole another can of worms. There's a lot of victims of child sexual exploitation, not all of them turn into murderers, but Hikaru did.

Considering she had a pretty messed up past and the whole 45510 story short... Both are broken in their own way. I feel like the more we learn the, the more we can understand the reasons.

The crazy thing is, back when Ai had called him again after a long time after she heard the conversation of her children talking about their father. She had said to Hikaru that this isn’t about me wanting to get back together with you. Meaning that Hikaru in those few seconds had regained that hope when she called after a long time. But then i guess after that, he went with the plan and killed her off.

I can relate to Hikaru...people nowadays always judge people first by their appearance or looks. AKA Lookism. It's sickening and many strive to look beautiful to get this attention and abuse it. Many serial killers with charisma and looks use this to their advantage. I am thinking, Ai was a terrible person back then until Aqua and Ruby changed that by being born. As she said when she was dying "I finally understand I love you... I said it without lying."

Hikaru said he got Ai killed out of spite but I really think he put so much trust into Ai that it tore him apart inside when she broke up with him. He did say that it was one sided and teenage Hikaru put everything into that relationship. He got revenge on Airi and now next chapter he is going to tell why he wanted revenge on Ai. Still I am so excited next week the anime season 2 will start AND we get a manga chapter. I am going to love the Wednesday anime episode and manga chapter at the same time. Very few series can brag they can do that right now.

Hikaru’s life was messed up. He was raped as a kid. He found true love, which was Ai (so he believed). She broke up with him cuz reasons. He was pointed out by someone that the only ones that cares for them is those people (both the husband and wife (wife being the rapist as well)). Hikaru feels extremely conflicted because he doesnt know what to feel, especially when he was the reason for killing them. He decide to kill other celebrities, especially Ai. He’s still a murderer but with a painful past, Ai was the one to broke it off while also being pregnant. Ai is pretty much an airhead, Hikaru is just confused (but still a murderer nonetheless which doesn’t justify his actions).

I've shared my thoughts on reddit but also wanted to share it here. I'd like to hear what other people thinking about this: Ai never felt love from her parents. So she didn't know what love was and because of it she lied to everyone around herself saying "I love you" knowing nothing about love. When she gave birth to her twins she was still hesitant about what love was. To the people she tries to love, Ai was hesitating to say I love you because of the fear of "What if this is also a lie?" so she never showed her true feelings. Before she was an idol, Ai had an conversation with Ichigo Saitou and she also said she can't say I love you to her fans because she would not mean it. She tried to love Kamiki, she failed and I think she didnt wanted him to get hurt because of her, I think Ai knew kamiki's past so she didn't wanted him to carry the burden of her live also. She made a mistake here. All these letdowns triggered Kamiki and he started to fulfill his empty heart with killing people. He didn't wanted to carry the burden of his past. Ai probably knew she was pregnant before going to the hospital and if I'm correct about this she could easily abort it. She wanted a family and wanted to discover what would love mean. So, she made the selfish decision of giving birth to her twins without talking this with Kamiki. Which led Kamiki to try to kill her, knowing those twins will also be a burden to his empty life. I don't think Kamiki was targeting our beloved doctor. That was a mistake made by that fan. I understand both sides feelings on this. I don't support Ai or Kamiki on their decisions. They were the same. Had bad experiences in the past, led both of them to take selfish actions. Ai is not a monster like Kamiki but she was selfish. Kamiki is a monster that knows his mistakes and wants to get punished for it or he is just trying to manipulate aqua into thinking all this so he can save himself and kill all of them too. Or for the first time, he wants to carry this burden. We'll see what these new chapters will bring.

I think I see Aqua's plan now. He wants Hikaru to kill himself. Ai knew Hikaru wanted to be loved, but Ai didn't know what love was, so she could never give him the thing he needed. So I think Ai lied to Hikaru, making him think she was just using him the way everyone else was, in the hopes that he'd stop obsessing over her and find a girl that could actually love him. Instead of doing that though, Hikaru remained obsessed, and became murderous as the resentment and anger built up towards Ai. Aqua's goal is to not only destroy people's opinion of Hikaru socially, but to emotionally destroy Hikaru as well by making him realize Ai did care about him the entire time. The real nail in the coffin is the videos. Ai was so obsessed with love that I think her request to her children was for them to get to know their father and to love him the way she'd never been able to. Making Hikaru realize Ai had always been looking out for him, and that his own actions had ensured his children could never love him, might be enough to make Hikaru kill himself. It's pretty much the only way Aqua can get revenge, while not becoming a murderer and isolating himself from others / going to prison. Edit: Her wish was also probably for her kids to let Hikaru know she was sorry for the lie, and to let him know she did care about him, even if she didn't know if it was love. It'd be very like Aqua to use the movie to fulfill Ai's wish, while also weaponizing that wish for his own goals.

In an alternate universe, AI does not abandon Hikaru, and actually stays with him and together they gave birth to Aqua and Ruby AI still thanking whether or not, she loves Hikaru or not, but he gets real love from his children aqua and Ruby give Hikaru, the real love that he has been craving for all his life, and he promises to raise Aqua and Ruby with all his power even if Hikaru did not get real love from AI he would have definitely got it from his children 🥹😭🤩

I think that Ai pov will be that she break up due not wanting to burned him with another kid again as he was very fragile/broken. emotional less worst opition for them both, as she saw not loving parent as a danger for the kid, as was with her.

Aqua isn't going to settled with just ruining Hikaru socially he's going to ruin him emotionally as well with whatever UNO card he About whipped out 😮 because I think we're about to find out what exactly was on Ai's DVD video that Aqua watched.😢 Thank you Zephyr for reviewing chapter 153 of Oshi No Ko and please keep up the great work.🙂👍

Hikaru is the definition of a tragic figure who succumbed to the effects of what society did to him and became a part of it.

Honestly, Hikaru killed Ai and even a little bit possible to understand his reasons, like he just wanted to be loved by someone and his situation wasn't easy, obviously killing Ai It wasn't a good idea, but his mental state must have been completely bad by then, and he was literally used by her, in my opinion Ai planned to have children but she didn't love Hikaru since she literally doesn't know how to love anyone without lying, she continued with that until she had what she wanted and then dismissed him as if he were nothing,She never really loved him, much less felt something deep down, in the end one thing I learned from this chapter is that when you only see one side of the story like Aqua who is a fan of Ai but that she will never see or admit her mistakes but will always see Hikaru's as if Ai had never made mistakes before is something totally different, a fact that no one can deny: In the villain's view, he will always be the hero of his own story and this is the case with Hikaru.

It''s sad for both because Hikaru didn't know about Ai's past and why she basically rejected him. While Ai did know about Hikaru's past, despite both being the same type, Ai's past made her unable to love him at that moment, or at least she didn't know if she loved him. She didn't want to lie to him. I'm curious to know the reason for their breakup because Ai saying that to Hikaru with a smile has to be the most disturbing thing from Hikaru's point of view. This is just from my overthinking, but in Oshi no Ko, Ai Hoshino (I think) didn't truly love Hikaru. I got the idea because of the song "Idol" by Yoasobi. The part of the lyrics, "I don't have any idea how I could love anyone. I don't seem to know what it signifies," suggest that Ai struggled with understanding genuine love. Reflecting on these lyrics, I realized that Ai might have been drawn to Hikaru not because of true love, but because of his loneliness. She may have felt a connection or sympathy towards him due to his isolation, mistaking these feelings for love. This interpretation adds a layer of complexity to Ai's character, highlighting her emotional struggles and the impact of her past experiences on her relationships. The entire song provides deeper insights into Ai's internal conflicts and her difficulty in grasping the concept of true love. Well that's just the info that I overthinked for a few hours after the chapter 152 was released from the time, but I guess it really is correct?

Really hope to get Ai's pov soon. But i kinda love the messy-ness of it all. it feels like melodrama for some fans, but it is interesting. this is pointing to the possibility that Ai was lying about not loving anyone before her twins. but why lie?

Ai was afraid of her love for Hikaru being a lie and is already so used to lying already. At least she didn’t lie to Hikaru about not loving him, rather just broke up with him. Which did seem to lead Hikaru to misunderstand and think Ai never loved him when she actually did

Now I feel REALY bad for Hikaru. All he wanted was to find love. REAL love. But when he did, it was broken. Jeez, it's no wonder Hikaru became what he is today. He thought Ai was just another grown woman who took advantage of him.

All I am getting from this chapter was a bunch of Deja Vu from Aquakane back when they were dating. Like if you think about Akane the only which understands Aqua and she gets him and accpeted him " You acknowledge someone like me and got close to me" "Did you think that you finally found someone who understands you after meeting Akane Kurokawa" "Ai accpected me" "Ai the only one which understands me". Another one Aqua breaking up with Akane to protect her and like you said Ai probably did the same. Main point is Ai x Hikuaru is smilair to Aquakane.

His experience up to that of his life is just horrible and was mentally destroying him to point of becoming a murderer. You wouldn’t be happy sunshine if you were in his boots.

The way i see this is that ,Hikaru did really love Ai and for her falling in love was a losing situation. Because I think she did love Hikaru just didnt want to show it to him ,neither did she abort the pregnancy. Who knows they still have more to reveal about their relationship. All i see in this story is characters with no good parents,but Ai became a loving mother even throughout all the brokeness inside.

Moral of the story don't get too involved with someone

Now as Hikaru’s number one Stand in the world, these couple last of pages were Tearjerking to see my boy go through all this. My guy even proposed to Ai, and she was still unable to say that she loved him back, still fearing that it would be a lie.

Ever since I saw did research on Hikaru and what he went through, I compared him to the character of Kotoko Utsugi from the video game Ultra Despair Girl DRAE. Content warning btw since I'm going to compare Hikaru to Kotoko and the real-life Björn Andrésen and what they went through. Both Hikaru and Kotoko were actors at a young age who were exploited by the adults around them simply for their physical appearances. We don't know who Hikaru's parents were, but from what he went through, it seems like they simply used him as a means to an end. Kotoko's parents on the other hand, we do get information on them. Her father was a dentist who was having an affair with his assistant and planned on selling his own daughter on the black market by the time she reached puberty. Her mother, meanwhile, vicariously lived through Kotoko to become an actress, going to extremes such as prostituting herself and her own daughter to get acting deals. This left Kotoko mentally scarred, going into fits of mental episodes whenever someone says “Gentle”. After the death of Airi and her husband, Hikaru depended on Ai Hoshino, who was his Senpai at the time, for emotional support, and the two eventually fell in love. But whether to avoid burdening him with her pregnancy or something else, she dumped him. Kotoko, and four other kids who were her classmates and friends, were approached by Junko Enoshima, the main antagonist of the Danganronpa Universe. Junko helped faked the kids' disappearances, and gave them a safe place to stay. She gave Kotoko, Masaru, Jataro, Nagisa and Monaca the proper love and affection they longed for. But since she was a manipulative girl with a Despair Fetish, she taught the kids how to bring despair upon others. When she died, Kotoko and her friends, with Monaca's encouragement, formed the Warriors Of Hope. They eventually murdered their own parents, with Kotoko's parents being among them. Hikaru, due to Ai dumping him, went after female celebrities who were at the near height of their success, and had them killed by proxy in order to feel better about what happened to him. Kotoko, aside from collecting things she considers adorable, would find cute teenage girls to torment as revenge for what the former went through. The only difference between Hikaru and Kotoko is that while there's no high road for the former, the latter managed to redeem herself thanks to the kindness of Komaru Naegi, who is the younger of the Danganronpa Universe's protagonist Makoto Naegi, and Komaru's friend Toko Fukawa, who is Makoto's classmate. As for the comparison between Hikaru and Björn, it's similar but different. I first learned about him when I came across a movie called “Death In Venice” from 1971. At first, I thought the movie was a Giallo movie due to the title, but I was wrong when I found out it was a drama based on a novella. It was when my mother told me about Björn's life and what he went through. Both Hikaru and Björn were exploited those around them simply for their looks. Björn was placed in the entertainment business by his own grandmother. He felt uncomfortable around the adults. It wasn't until somewhere in his later years where he told his story in an interview and what he went through. Aside from what happened, his appearance in Death In Venice became popular in Japan, with manga artists such as Keiko Takemiya taking inspiration from his character of Tadzio from the film. With all of that said, he's currently living a normal life in Stockholm.

I'm really surprised at the final panel, considering Ai is the one that insists Hikaru to sleep with her naked (I think). Even tho that action causes Hikaru's panic attacks but at least he get to do it to the person he loves and not a psycho grown woman. At the final panel Ai's the one who insists of the break up, and of course Hikaru's not have having it considering it's like a one sided relationship (in his POV). But the smile is the one that gets me, Ai's eyes aren't black so we can assume for now that Ai doesn't love Hikaru as a bf bc she doesn't get affected by her decision. Maybe she just used Hikaru (I mean not intentionally) for her desires to feel love, to the point she wants to start a family with him. But I guess Ai realize her and Hikaru don't have a spark or I guess she did. So that's why she's overjoyed when Gorou tells her she's going to have twins. And now there's Aqua, the twin that's the spitting image of Hikaru but without the Psychopathic mind, I know I know Aqua was just a toddler what can he do wrong. But considering the twins are reincarnated with the souls of a 30+ and 12 year old, they talk none stop. To the point they ask each other on who's their father might be. And u know Ai didn't know Hikaru's break up crisis, CALLS HIM IN A FREAKING PHONE BOX. Ok... Ai WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SMILING!?, AT LEAST SHOW YOUR BLACK START😡 YOU'RE BREAKING UP WITH A GUYS THAT JUST GOT BURDEN ON HIS SHOULDERS AND HE'S YOUNGER THAN YOU (I'm not fully mad at Ai yet I hope bc that's only Hikaru's perspective on that incident 😊) At least say "I'm sorry this isn't working out" (we haven't get Ai's POV so u know let me be mad this once) Ok at the first episodes climax 🚪🔪 Ai forgives the stalker with white stars, even if she's sitting with Aqua while loosing blood her eyes are still white. Maybe she realized this was Hikaru's revenge on their break up. And I love that how Ironic that the final panel of Hikaru being stunned is like Aqua after he saw Ai's star eyes disappear (I hope it'll be animated like that)

Im starting to think Ai either wanted Hikaru to unalive her or knew that was about to happen. I mean why make those dvds and give them to the director around the same time she gave her address to Hikaru. Seems suspicious. I'm wondering if she was tired of not being sure if she really loved her children and possi bly Hikari. I think she knew that only in almost dying would she understand or realize her true feelings towards Aqua, Ruby, & Hikaru.

I think the only reason Ai broke up with Hikaru was because she found out she was pregnant and didn't want Ichigo and Myako to find out it was Hikaru who got her pregnant and if they kept hanging out they'd find out so she broke up with him

The real Airi standing on top of Hikaru with her crazed look sent chills down my spine the way Frill couldn't.😨I can't wait for the next chapter! I wonder how Hikaru felt to literally relive his past through the movie. Surely he felt more than just being impressed? Poor guy had to see his kids making out on top of that.😂

Damn Hikaru is like us today we focused to achieve success but damn, we got lose at the end, because our feelings wont be accepted. AI is like today girls, which search a peace place and stability, but carry on resposiblity in her hands. Follow path by adventure, and punishment by sociaty even she is accepted by them the reverse was for Hikaru ,which showcase us how cruel world it is. She couldn’t afford to keep lying to him as he was good person, she was accepting his feelings and emotions he forced on her as that how Ai is she accepts people emotions and she was giving him hard push so he would move forward, at point time. She didn’t want him not only ruin his career but hers as well. She was idol wanted to complete her ambitious after all. She loved him and she couldn’t bring herself to lie anymore. Just like she did the children she didn’t want say lies of false love. She want to them she loved a lot. Holding back feeling and emotions as ruby found act as Ai holding back all her emotion make her a villain. Even if was people she loved or care for. Ai was person couldn’t force to love but always hide her emotion for sake of others since childhood. Want understand Ai, she want her love to understand her and forgive her why did what she did. Letting her known she was a human, a teenage girl, a message to the people she knew. Ai hoshino was a living being trying live her through struggles and regrets through her lies.

I honestly didn't comprehend anything.... I'm just so shocked, this chapter actuallly made me speechless...

story of oshi no ko revolves around the AI: THE IDOL. Just like other fans we keep making assumptions about Ai; innocent and broken girl assumptions. We believe Ai was one of her own kind in this generation, treated bad by life. We never thought about possiblity of Ai doing something that later return to herself. Ai Hoshino was a teenage broken girl, one you might find anywhere but she was given choice to forget her this self and make a new one for herself. A self that would take and give love, a sweet girl everyone will admire and praised upon. Idol Ai was just a facade she put up, thinking she can finally be normal girl BUT no she couldn't. She was happy giving shoulder to Hikaru, acting like a support for; a object of his love but she still wasn't ready to return love or share her side of responsiblity with him and in end she end up pushing him away for WORST.

Wow this brings me back to her last words and how she felt maybe referring to her break up with Hikaru like she lide and used him

I remember ichigo tells Ai to break up with Hikaru in the first episode and she nonchalantly says yes and i think when ai is talking to on the payphone (again in episode 1) she wanted Hikaru to meet the twins but their relationship is out of the question so that's why i think make Hikaru angry at Ai maybe that's what he's been wanting to be with Ai maybe if Ai let him be with them and twins it could save him from that

The whole point of the show is the Japanese entertainment industry in general. How truly evil it is. What young people have to do to succeed and what is done to them . Hikaru was disturbed after the funeral of his tormenters . He thought ai understood him bc she was a teenage idol just like him. She didn't know what love was so she just lied and lied and it fooled hikaru badly. And once his only Allie left him like everyone else in his life did . He went crazy and obsessed with hurting her as much as she hurt him.. I think Ai was his first love. That first love always hurts more then the rest bc it's your first time experience every emotion. Via the good and the bad. If only hikaru got actual help maybe he could have changed but it was too late for him. Ai did not deserve to die..she was a kid herself. She has her own career to think about. Especially after finding out she was pregnant she couldn't be w hikaru. He was spirialing down the rabbit hole more and more and I know she saw and heard all of it.. so she left.. like any person would.. what sucks is that ai gave hikaru all the locations and phone numbers to find her every time she tried talking to hikaru. If i was pregnant she likely had to create a large amount of distance even if they were careful in an absence like hers someone it may could get 1 +2 ... the phone she did explain about their situation. Now get out of here before I kill you aswell!" Aqua: "I ain't going nowhere, old man." *Aqua and Hikari then proceeds to get in position. One fateful afternoon, Aqua draws his revolver and empties 6 rounds of bullets inside Hikari's chest, causing him to die a brutal death. Aqua stands there as Hikari's corpse gets cold, looking at the gun once owned by his mother, knowing that this lingering pain and loneliness will never cease to haunt him. Revenge is a fool's game.*

So it was AI fault that everything happens think about it if AI did not break up with Hikaru, then Hikaru wouldn’t have gone crazy and become a psychopath she knew exactly what Hikaru had gone through. She knew he was unstable, yet she break up with him. She died because of her own doings. If she did not break up with him, they could’ve lived happily as a family And Aqua, and Ruby would have given Hikaru the love he deserve she did not blame him for her death. She accepted it. She knew exactly what was going on. She knew it was her fault, and she forgave him 😭

This was a toxic relationship where Hikaru was obsessed. Ai might have not known, or Ai might have felt trapped. Either way, a victim. I will be honest I dont see Ai's fault anywhere. If another broken person laches onto you, while you yourself isnt emotionally stable, you should distance yourself from them. Also, at teen everyone forms relationship for sex

I don't think it was fair of Hikaru to use Ai as an emotional crutch. He should have sought the help of an adult when it came to Airi's situation. Even though Ai probably loved him, she never really understood that herself because she never experienced what love is like. But worse, before she could understand what love is, she was forced to shoulder his troubles and that dark pit of his emotional scars. I don't blame her for running away, even though it was a $hitty thing to do. The girl had her own abandonment issues she got from her mother, she needed to resolve those before she can truly love someone else. We can already see that she never got to resolve those issues - only when she was dying, her regrets came rushing back at her and then she told her children that she loved them. Otherwise, I don't think she would have told them anything. Baby Ruby and Aqua never understood that Ai was a terrible mother, cause their mothers in the past life were absent/outrageously nasty. All they saw was a ditzy idol in her who was a lot clumsy when it came to being their mother.
