Although we still don't exactly know what the stars in the eyes mean, it is definitely interesting to see that Ai's mom does not have any stars in her eyes. Was she born that way or did she lose the stars at some point in life? It is fascinating to me how this symbolism shapes the characters and story in Oshi no Ko. Also, I bet the man she was in love with was much younger than her. The last panel must definitely mean that there is still "something" after all.

The reason why Ai has the star eyes is because she not only she felt abandoned by her own mother, she was also angry with her. In the last chapter of Oshi No Ko, you can see what I mean. Cause Akane said so herself which keep in mind, Akane did some digging on Ai when she wants to be the person Aqua likes.

@@pinkychuu8331That's just your opinion and it was never confirmed. Also, it does not quantify as a satisfactory explanation for stars, it does not fit the theme. It wouldn't explain why Aqua and Ruby had the eyes. If anything, the stars are hinted to represent either charisma or their strong desire for a certain goal. This would fit all the characters that do have stars, Akane who was able to imitate them and the fact that Aqua lost both of his stars for a period of time.

She has stars in her eyes because she lied, in the oshi no ko universum if someone has stars in the eyes this means they are lying. At the end of episode 1, when she was dying and said to ruby and aqua ,,I love you" and then the stars disappears, this means that she didn't lie and she truly loved her children.

@@itsss_amy1 and how was Aqua not lying when he lost his stars? How were Aqua and Ruby "more lying" when they both gained second star in the other eye? My interpretation still works. Ai had a strong desire to love someone, when she finally said those words and she realized they were true, the desire was fulfilled and the stars disappeared. Although they might have simply been just the fact she was dying so hard to say. When Aqua lost his desire yo avenge Ai, his eyes lost the stars so this still looks more plausible than lying.

Edit: I realized that Akane's probably acting this way because she's obsessed with Aqua for saving her and "loves" him. After all, she got so much hate online and even tried to commit suicide, but Aqua was there to save her. Everyone in OnK needs to get some therapy.
