This is Gonna Hurt-The TransRockies Run-Part 1
The TransRockies is a 6 day stage race in the mountains of Colorado from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek. It covers 120 miles, and includes 20k feet of vertical gain. I'd never done anything like this before, and I completely underestimated how difficult it would be. YIKES!
In this episode, we start the adventure in beautiful Buena Vista and run 22 miles to Railroad Bridge. About halfway through the day, my hip flexors start giving me serous trouble. This is gonna be a long week...

I love the running community!
Hey man I'm just NOW seeing this video after seeing someone post about it in the trail and ultra running fb community. So far your videos are the ONLY ones that feature all 6 days. Hopefully in the future I can get trained up for this event... Btw I laughed when you showed the setup of wall outlets setup in a old school outlet strip. Next to the industrial sized one, that's the most amount of outlets I've ever seen in my life!
Excited about this series!
You have too much fun. It's contagious. Thanks
Your vlog is always so exciting!!! I'm glad you are living life 👍🙏👏

That looks so cool and challenging! I hope that massage relieved your hip flexor tension so the rest of your adventure wasn't too painful! I guess the demands on the hip flexors in cycling and running are way different. After all those miles on the bike lately those poor hip flexors must've been super confused when you suddenly switched to running. Looking forward to seeing more of this epic adventure Ryan!

Thanks, Ryan for sharing......when I heard you speak with the lady of any tips on the race, I was thinking about this from a friend he sends me yesterday. "I also learned a valuable lesson from an older friend who is close to 80, wise and sage 👨🏼🦳. He finished the run and told me about all the wildlife he had seen at the lake, swans, cygnets, marsh hens, purple swamp hens and more 🤔😮! Did I see them? No! I was so busy watching where I put my feet, trying to breathe and get to the end! 😱 I forgot to see, smell, look around, enjoy the journey🤔 Life is all about the journey, and he still reached the destination, but he was richer and more fulfilled! 😄 I was at the end, but I had missed so much along the way" 😮 Greetings from DownUnder.

That tentville reminds me of our Mongolia race. Except without the charger land. All you need is a long enough book and some social skills or not. It’s a good way to switch off and reconnect with what matters.

Mongolia race? wow, I bet that's awesome!
Good to see you running again. About that gu recycling effort. That is nice, no doubt about it, but I think the bigger issue is all the wrappers runners do leave on the trail - and they do. I wonder whether there's something they can do in order to make the wrappers decompose when thrown out.
@duzer
4 жыл бұрын
Hopefully someday they can make the wrappers biodegradable
Hey Ryan, on another big adventure again. You can never have peace man, it's in your blood.but that's OK. Something always pushes you for one more. And I know that feeling all too well. , I miss my bicycle, man, since I moved to another city and country i have gone through a rough transition and I'm without a bicycle for the last 9 months a very long time for me. Wishing you the best as always,

So during ragbrai I found that the first two days are just not the easiest, but once you’re in it your body becomes a new person. Did you feel that after a couple days of running as well? Like did your body kinda just get used to it and just take it all in? (I only ask this now because I didn’t want to forget my question)
