As a player of 25+ yrs and a recent (yesterday) purchaser of a 1956ish "The Indiana" cornet, I'd say it's a monster of a good horn. It's not a loud horn but god damn. Mine is in less than great condition and I would not sell it for $300... maybe $500.. but then what would I buy to replace it for that money... nope.. she's a keeper. To give a bit of color, mine has some very obvious signs of repair - aka poorly done solder. The vales were replated at some point and the plate is chipping, but the vales feel great. The compression is very good... so someone who knows a thing or two played the shit out of it for two lifetimes. I prefer it to my better condition LA Olds Special cornet (which is worth way more)... which I also really like.

Thanks for checking out the video. Glad you found one and gave it a go - I'd also recommend the Indiana Band Instrument Company Cornet if you can find one. They were made I the 30's and are really nice too (I have a couple coming up if you are ever considering)
