The apple is like the Apple Of Eden, Jimin lies for the first time in his life (theoratically) in the storyline Jimin is linked with Jhope since they're friends in like a hospital but then Jhope has been seperated from others. *Wait I'm not understanding this. So jimin lied about something but what did he lie and I thought jimin saw something terrible when he was younger and got traumatized. I have watched an explosion video and that's what I remember and his parents took him from one hospital to another cause he couldn't healed his trauma so he didn't do school and stayed at hospital until he met the boys bts and escaped from the hospital where we can see it on euphoria mv. It makes sense. So I'm really confused right now , am I right or wrong*

@@CoolEditz_3 I believe you're right. I can't remember who told me this, but as far as I know, Jimin lied about not remembering anything about what got him traumatized. But that doesn't mean what R says isn't true. All of BTS's songs can be interpreted with or without the storyline in mind which may change the meaning entirely. The apple could symbolize being confronted with the truth or it could mean giving in to temptation by lying or it could be understood as a symbol for sinning in general.

Don't worry, I had the same confusion because a lot of people try to distort the facts. Moreover, Big Hit has always provided full list of singers in a song so if there was another person involved, they would have mentioned it which they didn't. So yeah, all the vocals are by jimin

From classical musicians reaction there's a fun fact - everything is minor key, except for the major key chorus, where there's the word Lie. Because major key (happiness) is a L I E. I think it's genious level song writing, honestly.

lie is truly a masterpiece. from the music, to the message, to the choreography and especially with jimin's vocals. this is my favorite solo song in the wings album, together with stigma and awake. you should watch the wings tour final performance of this! jimin's stage is insane. he performed a part of his dance with a blindfold.

He has a really unique voice - like his whole voice is a falsetto which is really nice. Also the whole concept of it starting very traditional/classical style

fun fact: it took him 5months to fully recorded this song due to a lot of high notes. 😊💜💜

Each of the circles at the end of the video represent a member. So when the robot hand was showing Jimin the cards with the circles it was basically asking him his oppinion about a certain member. And the camera was there to record his reaction, to see if he lies when answering And the apple represents temptation. It's associated with the story of Adam & Eve bitting an apple from a forbidden tree, so when Jimin bites it it's like he falls into the temptation, he falls into a cycle of lying and he can't get out of it I don't know if you'll understand my explanation (and sorry for any grammar mistake 😅) love your reactions so far!!!

Fake love with charlie puth was actually not that bad, but they couldn't predict the mistake from the staffs (they opened the wrong background track for them which was 2 tones higher) so they couldn't perfom with their best potential.

the live performance of this is ver theatrical and breath taking like a master piece.

Lie is one amazing awesome masterpiece by Jimin. Even the way they composed the song is sort of a 'lie' based on what the classical reactors team that have reacted and dissected the song composition. I love it that our Bangtannies have tons of masterpieces under their belts and they are the greatest work of music and arts all combined together.

Jimin has struggled a lot with self image and specifically weight. He has extreme perfection complexes and has many times mentioned how he was never satisfied with himself, his appearance and his performance. This song seems to express the feeling of being trapped in a toxic relationship with the voice in your head. He is caught in this lie that he is not good enough. He is begging the voice to get away from him and he is begging to be saved. The song is a bloody masterpiece. It is so brutally honest and real. I have struggled with eating and my perception of myself and the lyrics depicts how it is to live with that voice perfectly. A few examples are: "It repeats all over again" "Get away away away from me" "Tell me with your sweet smile. Tell me like you are whispering in my ear." "I can't be free from this lie. Give me back my smile." The sentence at the end too: "Please stop me, please guide me, please let me breath.". From a musical perspective it is abseloutely genius too. The lie is even in the instrumentation, because the whole song is in minor, but when he goes up on "caught in a lie", the "lie" is in major. There is also the fact that the whole song is in three quarter time, which makes it feel inescapable. If you take that into account as well then he is literally caught in a lie (cred to Yara Shuran who put it so perfectly). And it's not even over there! You may have noticed that the song ends, which seems to be, in the middle of the actual outro. It doesn't feel finished but rather as if someone pressed stop before it was completely over. This I also view as a way of depicting something being untrue.

Lie is one of my favorite songs! It actually has beautiful word painting, the entire song is in a minor key except for when Jimin says "lie" in the chorus he switches to a major key, making the key signature literally a lie!! (I got this from watching a classical musicians react😊)
