3 am and here i am another day watching fishing videos
Bowly, that’s the best fishing video I’ve seen in years mate. So raw, so real and I deeply appreciate the amount of hours both on the water and behind the screen editing your putting into this series. Can’t wait for the next one, watched every second.

You really captured the intensity of it all with that 105. Brought back some great memories for me. The heavy breathing, the fumbling to keep pressure on, the direction changes, explosivness and of course the fk ups 🤌. Classic metrey fishing. Hopefully I'll be physically able to do it again some time.

Awesome video bowly, loving the series. big saltwater barramundi are something else, worth a 1000 small ones might have to go live scope myself. 👍 keep up the good work.

Man I just got back from fishing for Barra, until you do it yourself you have no idea how much work and time goes into it. I ended up hooking into a 110+cm and lost it in a really stupid way. Props to you for all the hard work you put it not only to fish but make these videos for us.

Great Vids mate really enjoy them! but a little word of advise for you coming from a NT fisherman, never re - release fish in the same spot you are fishing when Bull sharks are about, cause 9 times out of 10 those fish will become shark shit.
Nice cast mate big barra 🤙🎣

Just an idea, once ya land one and ya know there is sharks about, try drifting back a bit and release the big girls in the shallows, seem to help down here down here on the sunshine coast. Sharks are getting so bad, feel ya pain. Love ya work.
Good man. Next time you see the handsome hairy man with office chairs in his boat, I will pull up and show how to get rid of sharks... quickly
Mate epic work !!!!. Keeping your cool and gettiing that first fish in after the net got tangled !!!!.

Thanks mate. I won’t be going to the Fitzroy region in this series. It would be much more meaningful to me to get one local. ✌🏼
That 105 really didn’t know what to do at first did it hahaha. Man are you sure at 20mins that fish you hooked was a shark? I’ve never caught a 120 salt Barra but I feel like that’s how one would fight 😂 this was insane footage bro keen for what you bring next ep.
@bowlysfishing

Standard Barra behaviour 😂. Yes 100% on shark, saw him swimming on the live when I had it hooked up. Also the line gets rubbed up a certain way from the body/skin of a shark which is a dead giveaway if you get your leader back.
Bloody awesome fish mate! Seen a video of total carnage’s the other day of a charter boat bloke belly flopping those big fish from chest to head hight into the water😳 and they kick away like nothing happen. Might be worth trying.
Great first fish man, but please pull the bloody lure out first thing, I was waiting for you to impale your hand…

Yeah I had visions of that treble going through your hand while removing the net. Great fish Bowly.
I was watching a man hook a reef fish and a shark hit it instantly. I thought that is ridiculous. He wouldn't have had time to turn the handle on his reel. Congrats on the 1.05 barra and 90's barra.👉🎣🤙

Hey bowly, love these episodes. Keep them coming. Wondering are you using a heavy spec rod to slow roll those big plastics. Please share specs if possible please.

Hey bowly absolute awesome video man! Great content. Can you explain what you call good tides for Barra?
@bowlysfishing
10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it. "Good tides" for are extremely location and spot specific. The River I was fishing in this episode is much easier to fish on the neap (mid moon) tides as it runs very hard and becomes extremely dirty outside of that, but bigger tides are better in different locations. Unfortunately there's no one tide that's great all round anywhere I know.
I feel like the sharks have become so accustomed to following boats for a feed that is become part of their naturalised behaviour at this point. Even where I am south of syd when im targeting mulloway I feel like they follow the boat around. I think its the transducer sound, I can fish spots that i know hold fish and hook/land them without to many problems (without running the transducer), still lose a few though. If im sounding up new ground or following bait I feel like the trans is just a dinner bell. Lose good fish all the time and that never used to be a big issue
Charge the bank next time your tangled in the net! Wicked fish dude

Top work Bowly, that is a thumping barra. What do you make of your livescope? Has it been a game changer?
@bowlysfishing
10 ай бұрын
Thanks Braden. Yes the live makes a huge impact. Being able to read the behaviour of the fish, reactions to lures and being able to pin point where they are exactly at any given time is huge.
2cnd lessssss gooooo
Really enjoying the series, where along the coastline are you roughly ? im up in townville myself and still learning the area, where do you get those prawn lures with the jig heads ? checked chasebaits and cant see them

Thanks mate. The prawns are the “125mm Flick Prawn”, they come rigged with a weedless hook, I’ve taken that and the rattle out and rigged it on a jig head from another brand. 👍🏼

Usually like the content, knowing there are sharks your net should be ready to go at all times, disappointed to see big breeders shark bait like that.
Great fishing. But you don’t treat fish right… so many fish in so many videos don’t properly swim off. If you gonna keep a fish out of water then at least be quick or dip the fish every once in a while. These fish swim off an die because of you man.
