I have enjoyed your videos. I am a veterinarian and of course my circumstances are much different than yours. I have the Phonak cross hearing aids and I love them. I use the Thinklabs wave to document my exams in the patient chart. Yes, that means getting on the floor with my IPAD pro and then putting the stethoscope to the dogs or cat. It has to be fast but I have accommodated myself to the situation. The Thinklabs wave tells me an instant the quality of the heart scoundrel which I then play back for the client. You should see the looks I get from a dog or cat upon hearing their own heart beat. I am learning every day about the stethoscope including the fact that a major veterinary school had students use this stethoscope and from the phocardiograph they were able to pick out heart murmurs earlier that the old way. Keep up the good work.

Hey doc! I was a nursing student until I failed my first clinical course in 2018. I studied engineering in Turkey. However, I had to move to Canada in 2016. I decided to study practical nursing (LPN/LVN) as a second career. I found that I don't have a very practical common sense and I feel very nervous when someone is watching over me. This is probably because I don't have competency at what I do. Hearing loss is very common in my family. I haven't visited any audiologist up to now because I think I hear very good in a normal environment. I have a problem of hearing normal lung sounds with my basic 3M stethoscope on my chest. I want to return to my nursing program and give myself a second chance. I am considering to invest in a digital stethoscope. Eko health does not ship to Canada whereas Thinklabs do ship. Thank you for your unbiased independent reviews. I think they are very helpful not only for caregivers with hearing loss because digital auscultation records can enhance the quality of documentation. Thank you again for your time and effort.

Hi emrah testere, I too have "frozen" during practical rotations due to being watched, I think this is normal for most people. Learning to auscultate bodily sounds takes practices (over years in my opinion). All we can do is do our best...good luck with your journey into nursing...

@@healthyhearingloss9953 Agreed. My wife doesn't have hearing loss, but has also been through the same thing... I am glad you are here to help medical professionals with hearing loss! Medical professionals are the most important above all other careers!

Does this setup work well for taking blood pressure, or do you use a digital blood pressure cuff instead?

Hi Rebecca Sharp, thank you for the question. Yes, this setup works very well for taking a manual blood pressure because there is no delay . If I don't use this particular setup then an automatic blood pressure would work better for me. For example, if I use my bluetooth hearing aids, there is a delay so taking a manual blood pressure is harder to take due to the delay and the automatic BP is better or easier. I hope that helps.

@ Healthy Hearing Loss Hello! Have you also tried this with a different brand of hearing aids like the Oticon More 3 miniRite with a streamer? I recently got my hearing aids. I have mild sensorineural hearing loss. I am struggling to find a perfect one that I could use in clinicals. I would like to know if it would work with an Oticon streamer before I purchase it. I hope you could make a video and review about it. Thank you so much.

Hi A-Z, Thank you for your question. I trialed the Oticon More for several weeks about 2 years ago, however, my experience is limited so I don't feel I can review that setup. I will go back and reread some of my journal entries to see if I wrote down my experience at that time. In the meantime, I would recommend reaching out to Oticon directly: www.oticon.com/solutions/more-hearing-aids The Oticon More does have bluetooth and connects to the iPhone therefore it will work with the Eko App and stream directly to the CORE or DUO stethoscopes.
