I fell in love with 1.7 because they added the sprint key, which made me super happy. I still love that key to this day. This game has changed so much since Alpha, just picked it up again now after a few years. So many cool and amazing features has been added.

I played it for about 3 years when it first came out (well abt 6 months after release) then when the LAN parties my then-boyfriend-now-husband organised (100+ people) stopped I kinda stopped gaming all together but the itch would come back but I couldn't find my old account and broke me never bought it again until COVID-19 hit and I got serious back issues that even prevented me from walking for a while so my hubby bought it after numerous attempts to retrieve the old account. And ehm yeah, kind of hooked and play it all the time. Back is slowly improving so hopefully I'll be able to use my pc instead of my laptop in bed and I can really play properly with no drifting mouse, no keyboard slip-n-slide and ergonomically better. In the meantime I just love creative mode stuff, listening and watching your and Grian's videos and enjoying the fun the hermits get up to.

4:02 Y'all remember Cube Creator? I had it on my Nintendo 3ds, because it was the only Minecraft-like game on a Nintendo system at the time (which is why I was kind of miffed when they added Minecraft for the switch). It certainly wasn't on Minecraft's level but it was a decent quality game, and it had its own physics and concepts and whatnot. It definitely had its quirks (animals didn't swim, they just stood at the bottom of water, if you lost your stuff it was gone for good and the game kept telling you to go find it, and every resource was limited) but I still had a fun time with it. Darn, I'm getting nostalgic. I should go play some Cube Creator...

I still make a very tall pillar to this day. I also remember the old glass texture and the old beds

I remember when Minecraft hadn't added rails into pocket edition yet. I had seen a friend use them in java and decided that I could do that too. I instead made a tunnel and just put ladders on the walls and called it a day.

There's this computer at school with some of the oldest versions of Minecraft and the kids that don't play Minecraft think it's still like that 😂

@@greybeardmc Yes I agree, they were more expensive to craft back then, but if you didn't know that little trick then they were twice as expensive!

When you couldn't place an additional chest beside a double chest. And I remember when placing two half slabs on each other, then mining it, would give you the actual full block instead of 2 half slabs. And half slab planks somehow where quicker to mine with a pickaxe than with an axe (and also made the same sound as mining stone did)

I have no shame in using the book because it means I can craft faster when I'm crafting a ton of things, like idk 12 stacks of sand into sandstone for my house

Damn I really am old nowadays.. I remember classic coming out when I was in high school.. I remember also smelting ores by throwing them in lava with popcorn smelting. You'd build a kickass furnace with lava you found underground. No buckets either you had to build your smelting room in the molten room

I used to play in like 2014 (idk if that's old) and I remember playing on this server called zombie manic and it had this SMP type of thing were you spawn in and around you, you see this kind of anarchy server type of environment around you and then the further away you got, you could see it being more normal and it just brings back good memories of young me playing with my MC friends and I kind of wish I got to talk to them again

When instead of cats looking how they are now, they looked like ocelots and then they looked like normal cats when u tame the ocelot

well fish are still invisible it's just that there's another way of "fishing" which is by killing fish mobs but fishing rods are only to fish invisible fish

This video made me realise I've been playing for longer than mumbo has and it feels.... weird...

i found out about this game very early on as a kid, i loved playing minecraft classic with my friends in school

Not only did this remind me of old Minecraft, but it reminds me of the KZreadrs I used to watch. I still remember watching Stampy and how he made his world before jungle biomes.

Who else realizes they just realized they were very good at minecraft PE and can remeber all of these.

Things I remember from OG minecraft: Your world was either all snowy, or no snow. There was no in between. Pistons were a mod which blew everyone's minds - prior to the mod, everything was just decorative and nothing moved (except sand and gravel) The old fire mechanics. One spark could destroy an entire forest, it just never stopped burning and spread crazy fast

place the doors inwards so that the open state is actually closed and the closed state is open, that way they cant get broken down

I still remember the first time I played Minecraft when I was like 12. I had no idea what I was doing, and it was so much fun. My first base was in a jungle biome. I made a little hole in a hill and had like two or three wheat growing out front. I remember having to google the crafting recipe for a door. Good times. I think my favorite update was when hoppers were added to the game. That’s the one I remember being the most excited for, anyways.

I guess the Sugar Cane was called Papyrus, since you craft paper from it (in real life paper comes mostly from trees, but before that peoples (mostly in egypt i think) were writing on papyrus scripts)

I’m playing an HQM mod, Regrowth, that is based on MC version 1.9 and boats can break of chunk lag! Not funny when big parts of the map in endless water and you take drowning damage almost immediately (drowning thing is part of the mod). You learn to have an extra boat always on you.
