Well Said !!! They get carried away & go over the line when criticizing any player or manager. They have to be able to handle others doing same about to them. My favorite example is Robbie from AFTV going off on them for their hypocrisy & talking down/insulting him & AFTV. It’s a 20-30 min video you can find easily on here.

Or maybe because in a close title race is good for the ratings for the teams to have been within 1 poing of each other. It gives companies like Sky something to hype up every game as a potential title decider. Hence why all the quadruple talk. Remember beginning of the season it was all about United and Chelsea. We even had some Talksport hosts talking about Liverpool finishing 5th behind Leicester! They only started hyping Liverpool because Chelsea fell apart and well the less said about United the better

Also, if you were on Twitter you see that not everyone loves Liverpool. The BBC comment section was full of opposition fans loving that Liverpool drew and I'm pretty sure that LFC are the 1 or 2 the most hated teams in England.

Man Utd are the biggest, the most talked about, get more coverage and are the most criticised club in the country. But Liverpool are the media darlings and i think it stems from the mid 60s when bill shankly was manager. If all media did a poll about who's their favourite team, on the whole it would be Liverpool. I remember years ago a few in the media said that Liverpool fans are the most knowledgeable in the game. An insult to every other fans. It seems can do no wrong.

Man City did a domestic treble a few years ago and nobody even mentions it, let alone all the ex Liverpool whoppers in the media. Sky is the worst for it, having Carragher on commentary for Liverpool games and him literally cheering when they score.

There is media bias and it's rather obvious both for neutral and rival supporters. Media keeps talking about Liverpool winning the quadruple like it's going to solve global warming , but when Man City were on their way to winning it, it was terrible for football because of the way they were going to win it. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the fact that there is media bias towards Liverpool is either delusional or a scouser - a lot of times these two go hand to hand. The amount of ex Liverpool players in the media is one of the biggest reasons why there is bias. Trevor Sinclair, Micah Richards and so on, often get called out on their clear bias towards City not realising that half of the pundits are doing the same for Liverpool. Simply because they are a majority, does not mean you should turn a blind eye about it. It is very irritating having to constantly listen to pundits talk about Liverpool like they're the second coming of Christ whilst undermining City's achievements.

There's definitely a bias. In the 18/19 season, Kevin de Bruyne was out for major of that season and City were on course to win the QUADRUPLE. Liverpool were above City in the League (on points) and the media focused on Liverpool because Salah was out scoring everyone (robbed of the Balon'Or) and they won the CL. City won the domestic QUADRUPLE and were reminded in the media that it wasn't "the treble". Liverpool are the media darling.

There were actually numerous articles in national publications suggesting City's domestic dominance at that time was bad for football. No such articles this year though...

The majority of English media are biased towards Liverpool. Most of the media where speaking of City to slip up and Liverpool to win the quadriple. Some already saying or asking is Pep a failure. If it happens that Liverpool ends up with only one trophy then I'm waiting what the media will say. To be clear I'm not a City fan, just a great football being played fan. In some ways Pep is right.

Last I checked, you gotta be in the box and actually be fouled to win a penalty. Credit to Son on the weekend, he's about the only player in 4 months to have even bothered running up the other end, so he deserved to score seeing nobody else in the league can be arsed doing anything similar.

People were hoping Manchester City would win the quadruple last season? I don't think so.

Jose was right when he said most ou dits are former Liverpool and Man Utd players so he can't wait to retire so he can be a pundit and defend Chelsea. But Pep is capping here. Pundits have given Man City and Liverpool credit in equal measure even some saying this is the best rivalry in the EPL. But I understand he is slightly salty after that UCL exit.

City have been winning for the past 11 years and there are City fans all around the world now. Another dominant 10 years and City could eclipse Liverpool with fans like United have. Definitely a bias towards Liverpool and against city you can hear it in the language even when Murphy says "city buys ready made players" and Liverpool buy "diamonds in ruff" players like laporte Silva Dias cancelo Jesus ect where not considered the best players in the world before they went to city Liverpool have bought Alison vvd thiago ect who where considered the best around. Simon Jordan is just as guilty I'm pretty sure when city where going for the quadruple last season he said it would be bad now he saying the opposite if Liverpool do it 🤷 there's definitely a bias. Yhoo bro I've been saying this for years, apparently in England success belongs to Liverpool or Man United. Everyone else can't be successful, the media will try by all possible means to tarnish that success. It's actually sick and toxic. I remember when Arsenal were really good they were treated like outsiders, Wenger can testify to that. Happened to Chelsea and now it's happening to City.

Let’s be honest, I’m a spurs fan, and for years Liverpool have been the premier leagues darling, you’ve only gotta look at the amount of farcical VAR decisions gone in their favour since it’s been introduced. I mean look at Klopps comments about spurs after the game, I’m sure he knew how spurs would play, he’ll have planned for it, under the assumption they’d still win the game, and if they did he’d have been full of praise for spurs regardless of how they played, but because they didn’t win, pulled the way they played to pieces, born out of nothing more than bitterness they didn’t win, that’s why the neutrals want city to win, what does he think, that teams are gonna go to Anfield and be expansive? They’d get beat comfortably which is why they don’t, Liverpool and their fans have always had a misguided sense of entitlement, and they ram success down everyone’s throat at every opportunity.

My in-laws are heavily bias towards Liverpool but most people I know, can't bare the thought of Liverpool winning the quad. It would be unbearable, they would never live it down! As a Spurs fan, I dislike Liverpool MORE than Arsenal. I also find it surprising that Klopp comes out and slags of our style of football and the pundits don't give it a second but here we are scrutinising Pep for a comment in a similar vein. @@focalpoint5072 Not a ridiculous statement at all. Liverpool have better depth in goal, at centreback, forward positions and left back. Man City have more depth in center midfield, but not by much. Liverpool also have the best goalkeeper in the world, easily the best centerback in the world, and a goalscoring machine in Salah. Klopp has spent 600m quid and Pep's squad costs around 850m quid. Hardly a huge difference. Pep's just a better coach than Klopp.

For decades, there has always been favourtism towards United in the media, even till now. It has helped them in so many ways, from a greatly inflated fanbase, ref decisions to being able to sell mediocre players for way above their value, but no one ever say it is bias. Its 100% true. When City won the treble the very first comment from the BBC was that Citys season was a failure. Just destroyed Watford 6-0 in the FAcup final and won the league and league cup and the first comment is the season was a failure. Lfc won nothing and nobody says they failed. If they only won the league cup this year nobody will say they're a failure.

Have a look at City's run in the FA Cup that season. They should have donated it to charity.

Leicester is a great example. Their squad cost a small fraction compared to the top 6. When the title was a possibility EVERYONE in the media wanted them to win because it would be a great story for football

There is a massive bias. Everyone in the media blowing each other about the quadruple when they still had to beat Villarreal, still haven't played in the FA cup final against Chelsea, a team that outplayed them in the league cup final and at the time real Madrid and man city were still both on the champions League. When Liverpool played city away city were unlucky not to score three or four. Pep however never addresses that he walks into already established title winning clubs and just keeps the show going. Klopp turned Liverpool from a team that was basically were spurs are now into one of the best teams in the world. Guadiola has never done anything like that.

They are bias towards making money, Liverpool has the biggest amount of Fans and Sympathizers in the UK alongside Man United (maybe), you don't want to piss off a decent chunk of the Football fans, viewers etc. And the Media always exaggerates, in both directions because that' pays off, so if Liverpool were to miss out on League, CL and FA Cup it would go into another direction with alot of overreactions and exaggerations.

People don't care about City, and it's hard to get that to change. Simple as that. People forget about City winning the league about 2-3 hours after it happens. They're irrelevant.

There is no questioning that this Liverpool side is incredible and in any other era would be a dynasty. Having said that, they have 1 title in 6 yrs now under Klopp. When it's all said and done, noone will care how many 2nd place finishes they had, just titles. So for all the praise they're rightfully receiving, history will not be as kind if they don't win a few more real soon.

Well there is a counter argument here against city as week. For all the great things that Sir Alex has done, he is probably most fondly remembered for the treble which includes the champions league. Arsenal has won more premier leagues than Liverpool but they are not placed up there (except the incredible feat by the invincibles) with the United teams under Sir Alex because they did not win the champions league. This Liverpool team has won one champions league already and competing for one more this year. If they do win this one I do think they will probably be rated higher than the Man City team in future, unless of course Pep wins a champions league soon.

Compare how much Pep spent vs Klopp. Pep alongside Ole have been the highest spenders in world football. Liverpool have been down in 18th. Also Liverpool's money is hard earned and not tainted oil money. And Klopp has won the lot, till the time City wins a CL maybe shut the f up?

Nobody asked him not to spend he gets away with any cheap player who can't do well so I don't see him as a role model he's a good coach. I don't think oil money tainted is any way to judge mancity. You use what you have don't hate when someone else has excess coz everyone has their demons pickin on mancity won't bring trophies every season

I don’t know if there’s a media bias in favour of Liverpool, but I have noticed that a lot of people in the media would prefer to see Liverpool win over City. It’s probably just because they don’t like the idea of seeing City win 4 of the last 5 league titles.

They mention interest in the quadruple being the reason, but when City were in line for a quadruple last season, in 2019, in 2018, the media had kittens about the idea. It would be a disaster for the English game. "City are too good. They have to be stopped". Nobody in the media wanted it.

Two great sides but city shade it for me,the reason y Liverpool get more media bias and attention is because they av more fans than city cus let's b fair wen people chose a football team to support they base it on who's winning things,glory hunters at their best it's just the way of the world, but what worries me is even though they r two great sides why do the refs and var feel the need to help them more than the lesser sides. For example Everton av been done by var 11 times this season compared to Liverpools 2 and that was from a Liverpool fan, as we guessed people r starting to realise that the fa try and dictate who wins and who loses to make the top of the league more interesting and also the bottom at the sametime,money talks I'm afraid but more fans will stop going if this continues. Lampard hit the nail on the head when he said that the other way round and Salah got brought down they would of certainly got a penalty like Everton should of had against both city and Liverpool. This surely has to be taken up with the police fraud squad cus it's not right and certainly not fair.

All we heard was Man City winning the quadruple too back in 2019 and last year remember? Fans and media were banging on about it. Like they said, its being talked about again because it was very much on offer again. This time in Liverpools case. Not only that man city have been nailed on favourites to win each competition every year by fans and the media before a ball has even been kicked. They're bang on favourites to win or reach the final of the CL every year for the past 3 or 4 years yet FAIL EVERYTIME and will still remain favourites for the following season. So whats the problem? Almost every conversation I've listened to regarding Liverpool winning the quadruple was immediately followed by "only if City drop points" followed by "which is unlikely" So I've no idea what pep is talking about. Perhaps bitter that he got knocked out of the CL yet again and Liverpool make another final yet again?

Then fixtures getting fixed so they have an advantage of playing first from sky to prove there is a title challenge. All you hear is can Liverpool do it hence the fact they where pushing for an all English final. So Real Madrid don’t count then just give Liverpool the cup & fa cup & league the now.

Danny is saying irrespective of the fact it’s Liverpool or Man City it’s better to support a club who does things better economically. That’s not bias. The refs are usually biased towards man city though. Getting penalties from rib ball and not conceding when handling it. Just ask Wolves and Everton

Mainly because Liverpool have a bigger fanbase and global attraction, simply because they’re a bigger club. Liverpool are the most successful English club in Europe and have the 2nd most league titles in the country. Whilst they were doing the business in the 80s City were playing away to Stockport. Pep shouldn’t complain about ‘more people supporting Liverpool’ because, when it comes down to it, they are a bigger and more relevant club, with actual history. They aren’t the product of sportswashing by Abu Dhabi and other Middle Eastern owners. If you combine the history of a club with current, sustained success, of course people will gravitate more towards it

The last decade cannot stand up to over a century of history from Liverpool. They have the 2nd most league titles and have won 6 Champions Leagues. SIX. Might be seven in a few weeks.

Pep is 100% right...even the commentary in the games favour Liverpool even in the Spurs game...felt like Spurs did not exsist watching an hearing to that match..very sad but true...

I am a United fan, can’t stand both teams but I agree with Pep. The media have a love affair with Liverpool even before their recent successes. This is enabled by the ex-Liverpool players who are pundits who can’t hide their bias.

Lol the idea that neutrals want to support Liverpool in anyway is joke

City have dominated the premier league for the best part of 10 years but the media forget that don't they. Chelsea have done more in the past 10 years than Liverpool have in 30 years yet that gets ignored too.

since FSG took over 12 years ago Liverpool have won 6 Trophies & only 2 of them are what media / fans would consider Major Titles (1 PL & 1 CL w/ 1 SC & 1 FCWC & 2 League Cups)..... City have not won in Europe but have won 15 Trophies since 2010 incl 5 PL's & Chelsea have won 13 - 3 PL's 2 CL's, 3 FAC, 2 Europa, 2 SC, 1 FWCW..... Far better success but the Media act like City & Liverpool have a "Great Rivalry" --- Since Pep arrived 6 seasons ago City will have 4 PL's & Liverpool & Chelsea have won One each vs Pep both in Dominant fashion & Chelsea slaughtered City in the 2021 CL Final - but Chelsea are never mentioned as City's rival even though City vs Chelsea since Sir Alex retired in 2013 is the top PL rivalry..... Liverpool Bias is more like Liverpool Media Fantasy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
