The cash storage facility must have had even more than that. 30 mil is just what they could get away with quickly.
I worked for Dunbar for several years . These places have 2 - 3 separate , independent security systems, dozens of cameras that are motion sensitive if I remember correctly we had around 80 cameras , seismic sensors , cages and vaults that can not be opened from the outside unless you have 2 different access devices with codes. All signs point to these guys or gals either had an inside person or had inside information . It’s just not possible unless the people that closed the facility did not arm all the different systems and there was a failure. At our facility the alarms all had to to be armed by a certain time , and if you didn’t the first thing that would happen would be the security system calling , asking for the password and then finding out how long till the system would be armed . They would call every 15-30 min after that . After an hour they would send the police . If nobody answers the phone then the systems would be armed remotely . This screams inside job .

A smart criminal will find a way to launder the money so taxes are paid on it. Spending a lot of money and not having paid the appropriate amount of taxes for that amount of money gets the IRS's attention *very* quickly. They got Al Capone on tax evasion because it's an easy crime to identify and prove. Problem is, laundering $30 million dollars isn't exactly easy. The only victim is the insurance the cash moving company surely has. And they are probably looking at in increase in insurance rates.. It's still grand larceny, they will do time if they get caught off course but it's probably not going to be the same amount of years they would have to work to earn 30M. You have to have a pretty good paycheck to not get tempted by a 30M payout ( assuming it's an inside job which is what it looks like ). And when you're done, you move you're behind to a nice tropical island, set up a local business to explain your livelihood and you're golden... at least that's how it goes in the movies right ;) @@elmosweed4985

what caliber....unless they had costumes or at least face masks on and walked away and split up right after or even beforehand and left a few min apart...they didn't have no caliber, cuz they will get caught without having done at the very least, those coupla things, and on top of that... depending on how many of them were involved, if there was more than 2 of em, one of em that gets caught will talk, they always do....if there was only 2 of em and they both keep their mouths shut and none of that money was recorded by serial number, they got a 50/50 chance of getting away with it, providing they don't spend no money for awhile...anything less than that, they are all going down eventually....mark my words dude....people ain't like they were back in the old school days, 99% don't keep their mouth shut to everybody else, someone always talks and once they tell even one person, that secret is out 100%! Watch and see...

I used to work at a BofA storage vault and they kept $350 Million on two pallets as “emergency” reserve, not counting all the other cash that passes through there daily to supply all of southern Florida. Security sucked there but having the DEA next door made us feel alot safer.

Pretty surprised 30 million is left unattended with only an alarm. Doesn't even sound like there was a (edit: proper) vault. So basically just some concrete wall keeping you out? Are nightguards just not a thing anymore?

There was a vault. But apparently, they knew how to get into that pretty easily as well.

@@MossyMozart I did watch it. Not sure what you're on about. When I said "vault" I meant like a proper steel-reeinforced vault like a bank has (or at least used to have). If they just cut in through the roof to get in then I'm betting this was little more than a room with a beefy door. News people often don't have of a clue / don't care about such details. I could have been clearer in my wording. I've edited it in.

These cash storage facilities locations are typically kept pretty low profile. They rely on location secrecy as a big part of their security. This was most likely an inside job, or the thieves had inside information supplied by the employees.
