His goals put France into those Finals and Semis. He scored the only goal against Brazil in 2006, and equalized against Portugal in 2000.

I am Italian and Henry is still today my favorite player of all time, when I play in football tournaments I always choose the 14 if I can. The Italian defense in those years was incredible and unique in every role and Henry was the perfect opponent for a great great show.

I can tell you, as an Italy fan during that era, NO ONE was scarier than Henry. Zidane not even close. Zidane gets all the hype now for some reason but Henry was always the best player on that French team during that era. Every time he got the ball, it was terrifying. He was always capable of magic.

How I wish players like Neymar and others will learn from how Henry gets genuinely rough and tough tackled, falls down, even from career wrecking tackles and GETS BACK UP, STANDS UP IMMEDIATELY TO CONTINUE PLAY. He was playing agaings some of the best defenders of all time. Maldini, Nesta and Canavaro. Just unreal

No he didn't. Italy had him covered easily, it was because of 2 stupid mistakes that Italy lost. Nesta was the best player of the tournament.

That team was a joy to watch of course it helped he was a gunner to this day my car plate still says TH 14

Man played like this in a final, unreal.

Was a GREAT match; goals from Wiltord, Del vechio & Trezugette were absolutely memorable Kluvert was unplayable, Totti was very good, Germany was rebuilding then ......Euro 2000 was just awesome!

Only he and Ronaldo9 have had this great ball control at such high speed.

He played pretty well in Paris 06 too. Of course he missed 2 big chances, but one of them was a great save from Valdes tbf, and on the 2nd Henry was clearly gassed. Maybe should've still scored, but considering how long the team was down to ten men, how Henry almost single handedly held up the attack, how he ran like a mad-man, how he was constantly doubled-up on, idk I'm inclined to not be so harsh. He had a couple of brilliant moments skinning Puyol that game too.

spot on. football lost it's soul when players started to focus more on their lifestyle than the game. the game went from henry, dinho, saviola, figo, batistuta, crespo, romario, ronaldo, rivaldo, denilson, seedorf etc etc to dabs, haircuts, cars, acting like a kretin on social media and beating cats and girlfriends. fans nowadays are left with what you just mentioned, tap ins, penalties, nut megs and flipping fans off like rashford did. i support arsenal and i hardly watch the games now because there is nothing to like about from what i see on the pitch and on the side lines.

Most modern players could never handle the physicality that Henry had to put up with. He was the perfect combination of modern flare and old school physicality. Playing in this generation, he would had set some unbelievable records.

he wasn't at the time. I think UEFA's website later reported that he did by mistake. If you look lower down on the wikipedia page for this final, it lists Henry as motm, there's a picture of Henry holding the motm trophy, and all the news at the time listed Henry.
