Roddy Piper should've been the next big action movie hero. Hollywood could have made millions of dollars off of Piper. Dude had it all: looks, charisma, he could act and Piper had an already super-huge fan base. Man, what could have been.

i totally relate to this movie & to what keith david's talking about. after the divorce, i was homeless for 2 years & some change but i was still working 2 jobs. the ex & the courts made sure that i couldn't continue on with my life until i paid off the courts and the ex! ..and i wasn't the only one living out of my car and/or crashing with relatives! keith david is right! there's millions of working homeless out there in america, especially now! the movie, THEY LIVE, was ahead of it's time!

I read your comment the first time back in 2015, and yes the average American going about life won’t ever see this world of struggling people barely making ends meet, sleeping in sleeping bags in the cold December nights, or mothers and their young sons taking naps with their belongings in grocery carts in broad daylight in Downtown. I experienced it a few times fortunately had a motel room while clinging to a Temp agency as my safety net but anything can happen or go wrong and you out there by yourself in an unknown world. I pray God protect you and give you and all those out the love and supplies you need while working o your next goal.

+Jason Turner you are a "major dude" my friend. Since the government is not doing its job at "promoting the general welfare" (in the introduction of the Constitution) we have to start loving and helping and sharing with our neighbors. these hypocritical republican and too many democrats now talk about individualism and the horatio alger myth when most of them were born with a silver spoon to eat with. the corporations and military industrial complex run our government now. a big economic crash is coming. worse than 1929. WE MUST LET THE BANKS FAIL, STOP PAYING TAXES BECAUSE SO LITTLE GOES TO THE COMMON MAN WOMAN AND CHILD. AND IF WE ARE DEFIANT, AND THEY SEND THE FRONT LINE SOLDIERS AND SOME COLONELS TO HELP THE SCUM BAG POLICE SHOOT US DOWN, THE COMMON SOLDIER WILL JOIN US AND SHOOT AT THE MOTHER FUCKING COPS. NO MORE BAILOUTS TO THE BANKSTERS. WE MUST NATIONALIZE THE BANKS. AND WE MUST SET THEM UP ON THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE BANK WHICH HAS NOT BEEN HIT BY THE CRISIS OF 2008 AND NOT IN RECESSION LIKE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. As Dr. Michael Parenti says: the wealthy, corporations, banks, the military feed off the state, public money, and the blood, sweat and tears of we the people. for one, the complain about the public sector, they say it is socialist. but public highways and thruways benefit business more than any of us for delivering products. the way charities are run today, that includes the Salvation Army and City Missions, 70% of your donation goes to salaries of those who run it and staff, and the rest pee pees down to those in need. they exploit the needy to create their hypocritical contradictory "nonprofit entrepreneurial" "non profits" Obama is proof that politics is an "equal opportunity"lol, corrupter. ethnicity, gender doesn't matter. I voted for Obama first time. His campaign promised another 1930's like new deal(and even back then it was not FDR who gave it to us, but the bottom up who forced him too). A president first and formost is a public servant, not a priveleged leader. Of course bush was worse than Obama, but Obama's two terms are marked by mostly comprimises with republicans and big business who funded his campaign.. for example the push for real public health care like in france was is so convoluted, it is just more the insurance corporations feeding off the state and the majority of americans. the French public health care system is a third the cost of ours(per capita!) yet from the homeless to the wealthy all get top healthcare. Doctors there see themselves as healers not businessman....in fact in poor unfairly demonized Cuba their family doctor care outperforms ours in the US. And every war after ww2, directly or by proxy, has been for the benefit of big business not for democracy. .....to be continued

Divorce, alimony, and child support can force you into homelessness instantly. Happened to me. Lived out of my car for 2 years, was working 2 jobs but couldn't pay both the courts, judges, the angry ex, and child support and afford a high-priced L.A. studio apartment. A lot of people are where I was. It's a huge growing community of the working poor. It is a living breathing nightmare for so many. It breaks my heart.

They live is not a movie it's more of a documentary about the non-human presence that's been interfering in human affairs. They've been here since God created us, the serpent seed has been among us all this time and they place their offspring in positions of power. Remember the market scene, "Well that's easy for you to say you GOT the promotion."

The homeless scenes show how good the directing was. It was showing us homeless people being supported by the church. And then the police raid the church and displace all the homeless. This is what Israelies do to Palestinians and raid the churches and mosques. The whole movie was about a certain tribe. However what a humble good interview.

I've been stigmatized by some losers, not for being homeless, but for being unemployed whilst being homeless. This by people who themselves have wrecked their own lives and damaged those of others. Everyone is an individual, and my problems I guess were more to do with mental health and autism. To be honest, if you work for money, and have free food and a bed, then it shouldn't be too long before you get a home. Should it?
