They Live 1988 was one of the best movies as far as life goes. The fight scene shows how people resist waking up. The aliens are most likely the sell outs. The big party shows the minions of the 1% The homeless camp shows the future in big cities. And the police are the enforcers for the system.

I asked him why and he said he wanted to go to a movie and bus fare home. I asked if he was going alone. He said yes. I asked what movie. He said it is called "They Live" I ask if I could go with him, I could pick him up, pay for the movie, buy him dinner, and give him a ride home. That is how I got to see "They Live" I have not seen that friend since. Magical!

The important thing to remember about that fight scene is that it occurs because Nada (Roddy Piper) wanted Frank (Keith David) to wake up to what was really going on in the world, how things really worked. Frank did not want to wake up, so he tells Nada during the fight "Man, I told you, I didn't want to be involved". Sorta reminds me of how hard it is to wake people up in the real world. This movie is perhaps the best documentary ever made. 😎

It's wild that he's been in 3 films involving alien human takeover, and replicating or taking away the original human self, and natural freedom. In The Chronicles of Riddick, it's more along the lines of the herding of the people, to turn them into Necromancers, & their intergalactic type of sheep.

Also, I find it hilarious that the guy didn't recognize him. Probably just thought he was some bullshitter fan who really liked the film. I wouldn't have recognized an actor I had seen for the first time, either, though. I see a lot of movies and until a big breakout role, they sort of just meld into the back of my mind and then disappear almost completely. Then I'll watch that movie I've seen so many times and be like "wait, I know that person; they were in this!?"

8:18 I knew it! While watching it, I was just thinking "those have gotta be cleverly hidden mats". I could kind of see where it looked artificial, but only just. I knew there was no way in hell they were just taking each other and shoving one another into the ground and certainly not body slamming. It's really convincing, though. It looks like a shitty, dirty little city alleyway in every way. It's only when you think about it as a movie that you can kind of make out the seams in the process and even then it's still not completely evident.

David said the movie dropped off after 2 weeks but it sounds to me like it was pulled because it revealed some truth.

How drunk was that bartender? Any how many other Hollywood celebrities did he dismiss as drunks that are just enthusiastic about a movie? Even if you don't recognise Keith its impossible to not recognise that voice.

I've never seen this guy do a bad job in a movie. he's always on point. I haven't seen anything of his recently cause ever since Hollywood lost its frigging mind and went woke crazy I hardly watch anything anymore though.

See, you started off making sense, but then you start spouting nonsensical conservative talking points and you lost me. It's impressive how the mind can be so warped.

I'm not against the spirit of what they're doing just HOW they're doing it. getting grants, government certified loans, bailouts, etc. to meet diversity and feminist propaganda standards and quotas means they can just crank out crap and never worry about quality. so long as they get paid they don't care if the movie makes any money or the company goes bankrupt. and they spend so much time rewriting scripts to meet diversity and whatever other kind of requirements they don't have the time to actually make sure the story is any good. and most movies now just have the same plot, "white guy bad!"

Carpenter's 'thing' was way better I think (in the sense that it made more sense) because it wasn't so deeply involved with giving a 'red scare' message.

How does They Live give a red scare message? The aliens are elitist hyper capitalists. Literally the opposite of communists.

@@srottfaen it doesn't. I saw comparing carpenter's thing with the 50s one. The old one is about red scare.
