@@MuddyTimms it's master rule 3 but pendulum are stuck with 1 zone and links have to point to other zones to summon more same goes for pendulums. Oh yeah and pendulum zones of the left and right zone of the spell and trap zone (also work as a spell and trap zone) that's about it.

Don't fret, they're following the trend for the ocg, they're always afraid of buster there, it spent waaay too much time on the banlist. It's because the ocg has no kaijus, unless something changed, and that makes buster a bigger problem. Expect buster to be semi-limited soon, within a list or two.

I feel banlists this day are of two types: the meme ones (looking at you latest ocg), and the nuke ones (mostly tcg). But both of the types serve a purpose: push products, and new decks. But what if new decks aren't as good? Many new decks and old legacy supports are very niche: I have discussed this matter with my group and found the issue that... something in the design department changed, in two precise moments: the inception of thunder dragons and dark neostorm; after dark neostorm, something changed, think about it! How many archetypes from rising rampage and onwards were meta? And how many before dark neostorm were meta? The difference speaks for itself. I'm sorry for the poem, but it's the thing it bothers me the most in this game.

I stopped playing years ago, but old hobbys come back sometimes. And when I looked into the game I noticed the same. Old themes get much more support than when I stopped. Old themes stay relevant longer. And I think it's good for the game. The power creep was ridiculous. When I stopped playing pendulums were integrated to the game and I really thought of it as a convoluted mechanic. Now your strong decks build field in turn 1 that lock you out unless you have a card in your starting hand that prevents your opponent from building a field. The game seriously needs to go into full breaks.

@@obelisk5400 I was just like you some years ago: I took a break in the mid of the pendulum era, and I came back in the dreaded zoo format. At first i was happy seeing legacy support, but after the third set of nostalgic anime support I thought to myself: "what about game originals?"; the matter lies in how new game originals deck are treated: the first batch is promising, like Unchained or Tenyi, but then later on fewer and fewer cards are released not adressing the problem of the archetypes or giving them restrictions seemingly to keep them from being meta. Old decks need to take a step back and let new decks get support first and then take their turn. Powercreep sadly is inevitable but with wise card design it can be tollerable.

Nope, I got some decent decks using cards from 1st generation to recent releases. You take the time to read cards yourself, you find A LOT of unique combos no one uses. PLAYING Yugioh isn’t hard, BUILDING your OWN(not some pleb on KZread telling you what to put in your archetype deck) deck takes skill.

@@AnonYmous-hu7jo I'll be honest, I don't agree with you. You claim that even nostalgic cards are viable, and so I'll make an analogy: if swords are so effective, why modern soldiers use guns? You don't bring a knife to a gunfight as you don't bring summoned skull beatdown against shaddol invoked. There are good wacky combos, I'll give you that, but in a competitive scenario, you look for efficency over fun: people try to copy to good players because they know more than them, seeking help from a better player is allowed; if someone wants to play the game with their old quirky deck instead of the meta, he can do whatever he wants: this is just a game at the end of the day, everyone plays to have fun.

@@wintel6272 most committed decks can make 1 or 2 bahamuts, and even then toad was just a win more card 90% of the time outside of its archetype. 1 extra negation wasnt usually the make it or break it for those decks that were already good.

Lunalights themselves never were this strong before, Orcust ate its way into any deck last format like some anime-style parasite giving super powers to its host.

The card is still shortprinted to high heaven. Just look at other dumpster tier decks from recent deckbuild packs: evil eye, dragonmaid and a ton of other archetypes aren't really affordable due to having some of their key cards shortprinted. Ok just checked the Magicians soul prices and somehow the american versions cost 2x as much as the EU. 40€ per copy is still a ton though.

It feels like people not in R&D made this list. They hit SPYRAL yet we have an OTS Pack coming out that will have some Spyral upgrades that no one will want anymore as much as they did now. On top of that, cards like Mystic Mine and Super Poly get to roam free. A lot of hits from this list and the last mirror the OCG lists. It’s like very little thought went into gameplay. It’s like they just did stuff cuz the OCG did it. Idk, maybe I’m wrong (hopefully I am. It should not feel like Marketing or something made this list. Should always feel like R&D makes the list) but either way this list will last until June. I was about to buy more DUOV but I guess I don’t have to now

Konami has been trying to slow the game down with Links and the new ban list if anyone hasn't noticed. Combo decks are sort of degenerate so I don't see why they would get rid of the cards that are stopping the worst decks to ever live. Same reason Winda wasn't hit.

This is the first banlist to not have a banned Link Monster since April 2017 when they banned Knightmare Goblin

I haven’t seen him in a comment section so far but I’m sure Payne is happy he can use 3 copies of Pot of Avarice for a volcanic deck and boost their consistency and recovery. But, that’s not the same thing as new support, so they’re still not gonna be topping anytime soon

@@yashikiwarashi5045 Magical Meltdown is actually a problem. If it stays on field, you cannot respond to any fusion effect, be it Invocation or el/Shaddoll fusion. Shaddol should be hit, but that isn't happening until later.

synchro can end on a three or four large monster field. Three or four negates and destruction protection. I can see the Hyper Librarian justified, especially since I am doing this with list adjusted. It would be pretty consistent with two librarians. That called by the grave is necessary though

Pretty sure Konami or Sam Farfa and Cimoo are just working together for an April fool's cause it says April first and with events not being playable within a certain time frame I'm pretty sure it's an April fool's list and they'll wait tell April first to say that then April 2nd the real list will come out probs

well my experience so far, in 2016 I started playing properly so build odd eyes magicians, as soon as I got my last few cards odd eyes fusion and vortex which were pricy for a 17 yo with no job the deck got hit, built zarc magicians never even took it to locals deck got hit, built salamngreats that didn't make local got hit again ( I know some guy topped but it's not what the deck used to be ) and now finally got my liquid soldier hero's get hit

Can anyone actually explain why ABC Buster dragon got hit to 1? I haven't played the game in awhile since my only card shop closed down..but really? ABC was already pretty slow before, but with links they were passed by I assumed.. so what happened?

Someone at konami heard that dragon buster was gonna be broken with union carrier but didn't realize which dragon buster was meant so instead of banning the walking domainlock(Dragon buster destruction sword) they hit ABC Dragon buster.

@@xjohannasourusx1806 I'll agree it isn't OP but as a going first control deck, it can be a good deck. Realistically, there's probably more cards coming out that would really help the deck. Transmodify + union hangar = infinity + abc along with the remaining 3 cards for support. Then if you survive the first turn which is likely, youll have way more power the following turns, with 3 busters/ easy link support

I'm crying because Toad is limited, I literally was just about to buy a Paleofrog deck, because Toad is my favorite card ever and I really feel your pain Farfa,Konami just killed a deck that wouldn't even be that broken, especially with Lightning Storm in the game.

Isolde is an ftk with Destrudo and Needlefiber ends up as full Crusadia combo which then goes into Isolde so suddenly any 1 card Needlefiber is a 1 card ftk.

Reason for Librarian ban: I have a deck that can get out 2 Quasars and a Blazar turn 1 because Librarian gives it 3 draws per formula synchro summon and with 3 De-Synchro thats like +6 cards

Assuming your opponent opens without Ash, Nibiru, Ogre, Veiler or Impermanence. Or literally any quick effect that stops unprotected combos.

didn't hit invoked or salad or dragonlink, just bopped 2 top decks & left the rest of tier 1 to be stronger than everything else still

I think they wanted to weaken the Guardragon Engine more, since Destrudo is an important card in that strategy, a monster which can change its lv and is easily summonable and splashable also a dragon, perfect for guardragons like elpy or pisty. in all my dragon decks i used it. also it is a tuner so it works well with needlefiber

@Shorkk their are wayyyyyy bigger threats then lunalights coming into the new format. "Oh yay, we can make 2 fusions without a link now" while the best decks are going to be churning out entire full boards full of negates. It literally takes one well placed negate to end lunalights, so it totally was the main threat right? HELL it wasent even making it far into tournaments. It diden't even get recognition untill all the major decks got slammed. Then MAGICIANS and SPYRALS NERFED came back, Oooo some Luna/Orcust and Luna/Danger finally had some spotlight. Sorry if my only competitive deck that kept me in to yugioh was finally put down, and I moved to a game that didn't try to fucking ruin it's player base 3 times a year and actually cares about its players.

From a financial standpoint, limiting Paleo and ABC makes sense. Think about it, no Shadoll cards were hit, because that structure deck is recent and still sells. ABC and Paleo mostly are cards that get traded on the secondary market, so Konami doesn't make any money from that anymore or barely. Konami wants to sell new decks, and their recent archetypes all floped because older ones were too good. If they step by step get rid of all the older good archetypes, people are kind of forced to invest money in @ignister etc.

On the other it's fact that alot, and I mean ALOT, of people were against Needlefiber ever hitting the TCG, including me, simply because of the Tuner-banning rampage now. But then again it came with the new Predaplant Link, which was released this year and the D/D/D Link, which *people waited for in the TCG for years for no reason whatsoever.*

@@DerVasto and fiber is the same, we really should not have to wait this long for a card that changes the meta. The fact that this happened instead of getting the card as early as possible, eventually get it hit so we can get back cards that were hit because of it later, lies entirely on people with that mentality.

Actually if people used their brain they would realize fiber can’t do shit compared to when it was released in the ocg or even now because we don’t have linkross, tcg didn’t ban the tuners because fiber is broken it’s because everyone is bitching about it thinking it is a 1 card extra link or 6 quasar or some shit

Paleo may have gotten shafted by this, but I'll still try and play it. Main deck 3 haunted and recycle self time I guess

@@juliorebelo2652 When playing 3 Barrage 1 Zoo, Thouroughblade is optimal because it has the highest attack and even if you draw it plus Barrage you get to cycle a card through your deck and a drident

xolotltolox its only good for the potential draw and 1600 atk its not gonna change much, if we’re gonna talk battling wise than whip is much better
