This wasn't possible the begin with. MR4 took way too much away from these decks that just mere Link monsters couldn't compensate without either making them extremely broken (Needlefieber) or defiling their identity completely (Extra-Link and everything else archetypes where not suppose to do). These changes are really just for the best and just like Farfa i feel the old love again

Just Another Guy I don’t care what they do to the anime. I won’t watch it anyway. I just think it will suck if anime cards/archetypes with cool artworks and playstyles don’t get brought to the tcg or are too irrelevant/messy for the tcg. I’ll be damned if new TCG archetypes from now on are gonna be made up of lolis and super-generic anime shit (ironically non-anime cards nowadays look more like generic anime stuff than the actual anime cards).

@@nelomalkevain4129 Im a D/D/D player and believe me, 99% of the time you don't brick,unless you play it with an engine, if you start of with Kepler, C. w/ Gate, Swirl Slime or Copernicus, you can end on really good stuff. Im not saying that its meta, but it defenetly gave them a considerabke power boost, and evwn more with the new card for the archtype on the way

Are you really surprised? D/D/D was a deck that effectively merged almost every type of Extra Deck Monster (the Link Monsters are another story), plus its owner wasn't exactly a pushover like many others. Its monsters are also relatively powerful and can include generic good cards like the level 8s Synchros and Rank 8 Toolboxes, meaning it's not restricted to just its own archetype.

Very excited to use those powerful cards that summon lock you under the new revision. Things like keeper of dragonic magic might let me get more than one fusion at a time now.

looking back on this a year later, it's amazing to think everyone was shitting their pants over the likes of DDD,Fluffals,Thunder Dragons and Mermail when this was announced and now nobody cares about them competitively cause they did absolutely nothing.

No one actually thought fucking ddds or fluffals would see competitive play , they were just happy they could play their deck without needing ritual nachos monsters

Personally. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It will be pretty great to have all the old strategies back. But it also was great to have to play the game with a different level of strategy. Like a game of chess. I love the fact that they still are keeping the pendulums in check. That was the mechanic that broke the game forever.

Master rule "5": gets announced Me: "Why do I hear yusei's theme?"

I chose a good time to start playing competitively because it was a couple months after this so I wasn't restricted by MR4 at all and the Jan ban list had happened so I didn't have to deal with Striker and Orcust.

Where was I the day Ygo was saved? Oh I was at locals showing everyone there this news and seeing my entire locals become one big shocked emoji 😱😱😱

What about pendulum hybrids (fusion pendulum,xyz pendulum,etc)?

Let's say nirvana high paladin, you synchro it normally into the extra monster zone or main monster zone. However if it dies and goes to extra deck. You can't pendulum summon it back to the main zone unless you have linked zones or the extra monster zone is free.

Usually you run both lost world and shaddol engine in one so if u dont see shaddolls you can switch to pure ive been playing that way since dinos came out and still rocks every deck going second

GaziranaVeverica this is how I run it. Basically lost world Dino’s but with 3 shaddoll fusion, 1 beast and 1 dragon. Shaddoll fusion is busted in dinos. Make winda, search pill to hand and make it live at the same time for UTC. Busted

The funny thing is that the best card of that archetype is their link monster and the archetype restricts you to synchro summons.

Finally a man of culture that understands my pain bout this new anime. I'm gonna be very honest, this Yu-Gi-Oh anime looks like a Digimon/Pokemon card games, just look at their design, I used to play them like 8 years ago, and they look like they went to past to make them yugioh cards... I think we're back at children parks...

Pendulum kinda needs to stay like this though, but its kinda sad that there won't be much pendulum support to mitigate the issue of them being the only ones still screwed.

@@luminous3558 on the contrary, I think this is the only way to create decent pendulum support without upsetting the bases about a pendulum domination threat. We may even see some unexpected unbans of pendulum cards thanks to this update.

@@pictureofacat9525 I understand. The problem is just the inherent Soul Charge-like mechanic where in MR3 you get to refill your board with the same monsters every turn. The free revival is the one thing people hate but as for the summoning mechanic itself I also like it.

Mr5 I feel is good for diversity, it will b a fresh start
