I want to give a shout out to Hans for being as open and vulnerable as he was during this episode. Him and I hold different world views, but my favorite thing about this podcast is having Hans as a partner to share ideas and trying our best to analyze what’s going on in any given week. This week’s podcast was uniquely challenging but it was super fun all the same. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as we did!

Please anti-capitalists are so misguided they really need some guidance but Elon Musk doesn't offer any solutions and doesn't talk about my solution which is the most logical which is a Ubi based off the total automated production percentage of the GDP so we can calculate how much tools have helped us increase our production capacity and calculate how much those tools have increased our production capacity and how many humans would take to reproduce that economy without those tools and base the Ubi off of that automated production percentage value. Ultimately this is the closest thing a free market which is a better system can get to the people owning means of production which is a good idea of the Communist system... the problem is capitalism is better in every single way and has proven itself to be better in every single way up until now but as we automate away jobs in the economy we're going to have to have a communistic compromise... I am mending the pieces together as we speak I wish other people would talk about this...

Really the best thing about my system is that we can do a slow ramping that way we don't raise the price of human-made goods extremely high... but the best thing is as we automate away production and increase our automated production the citizens will receive Ubi benefits that will increase as the automated production percentage increases... this is literally The Best of Both Worlds and maintains a capitalistic system while embracing and solving the automation problem

I am a practicing design engineer for about 25 years. When I first head of Elon ~10 years ago and was being compared to a real life iron man, I rolled my eyes. I heard him speak and stammer I thought he was a joke and full of sh1t. But when I started to listen to his technical talks (after he introduced the BFR which intrigued me), I thought, oh sh1t, this guy is the real deal. Very difficult to BS technical banter. A real con man with a decent technical background might be able to BS a few points/subjects, but not like this. He is a special dude

"Eradicate corruption"? . Well... To do that in the US you need to persuade those in "Government" who both voted for and benefit from the "Lobby system" to vote out that system. . "State spending" isn't the problem. It's "Spending" (generally) directed and influenced by those individuals and companies with the means and inclination to "persuade" ("Invest in"?) Politicians who *should* be concerned with Government *of and for* "the people" to instead act in the interest of *the politicians* and the company/ individual. . If you call that "capitalism" it's YOU that's of the receiving end. (I call it "Sanctioned Corruption") . "Educate well"? Take a look at Global IQ and Education indexes. The Bastion of "Capitalism" doesn't fare too well. (From memory, ±27th in the Global average IQ Index per head capita.... The top 6 are all in Asia) Losing..... . I could point out that during the last 2 decades, that same Country (guess who? 😉) Exported industry to try and "Capitalise" on the cheap labor of the "Communists".... With the aim of bringing the cheaper components and products back for sale at home, at the "Old" price, thus capitalising on the domestic population., . However, The "Communists", being a 4,000 year old culture of scholars, engineers and *traders* (!) had seen it all before and after they finished laughing, took FULL advantage, using their expertise to first learn, then to *CAPITALISE* on the opportunity. . Look up the term "Capitalise" .... Literally "to get an advantage from" (something, such as an event or situation) . And here we are... . Ohhhh the Irony?

This is a good message however, in real life this just does not play out. I suggest most people are concerned about themselves and their immediate family and friends, not necessarily the good of humanity. The reason we have managed to hold it together so far and create this prosperity and relative peace is down to the Judeo/Christian foundations of our society. Take the Church out of western society and just watch what happens.

Others like Mother Teresa, the Dalai Llama, Paramahansa Yogananda, Gautama Buddha gave all they could give to help others. The drive to do more than just for oneself exists in almost all humans even if flawed and inconsistent.

Socialism, the real one, means you are entitled to a few weeks of holidays each working year, you can attend and care for a newborn for a few months regardless of your income level, you have access to good education, if you get ill you’ll be treated with the best possible care, and if you fall down, there will always be something there to ease your fall and help you get back up, no matter what your social status or wealth is, equally, not more nor less, for everyone. This holds true as long as everyone collaborates and aims is to be employed as much as reasonably possible, making contributions but with basic rights like max 40 hour-week jobs, and everyone agree to pay decent taxes and are willing to live well but without obnoxious excesses, like a massive house or 3 cars (though you can have these too and many many do). What I find funny is Americans who are wealthy being hypocritical, just because you had a good education that you could afford, and good health care due to a great employer, doesn’t mean this is the same for the majority of your fellow compatriots. Some live very well at the expense pf many living pretty poorly. I am not anti-capitalist and I believe in a meritocratic system where free market (regulated and kept out of basic essential goods) are a way to generate wealth, but there is a base line we should as people try to uphold, in which fewer of our fellow humans suffer unnecessarily

Capitalism thrives for the general good within a society that has a good moral character. In American culture, it was formed around the population having a Christian World view of morality. Exactly as our founding fathers envisioned. Yet good and evil prevails in cycles (They knew this as well). Checks and Balances ultimately are failing to compensate for our utter human deprivation. All of this is predictable, sadly, but it boils down to who’s in charge on the personal level. For too many of us, it’s ourselves. If Tesla existed in your Socialist Nirvana world, they’d be almost as successful as Yugo.

Believe it or not, the aftermath of the 1st world war is still very much defining our realities. Germany is a core country to all of Europe in an industrialised society and they face internal problems (following the collapse of communism) as well as keeping a united European Union. The technology change that is happening now doesn't have the same configuration as previous revolutions, we are not just automating hard labour, we are humanising technology.
