I want to give a shout out to Hans for being as open and vulnerable as he was during this episode. Him and I hold different world views, but my favorite thing about this podcast is having Hans as a partner to share ideas and trying our best to analyze what’s going on in any given week. This week’s podcast was uniquely challenging but it was super fun all the same. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as we did!

Please anti-capitalists are so misguided they really need some guidance but Elon Musk doesn't offer any solutions and doesn't talk about my solution which is the most logical which is a Ubi based off the total automated production percentage of the GDP so we can calculate how much tools have helped us increase our production capacity and calculate how much those tools have increased our production capacity and how many humans would take to reproduce that economy without those tools and base the Ubi off of that automated production percentage value. Ultimately this is the closest thing a free market which is a better system can get to the people owning means of production which is a good idea of the Communist system... the problem is capitalism is better in every single way and has proven itself to be better in every single way up until now but as we automate away jobs in the economy we're going to have to have a communistic compromise... I am mending the pieces together as we speak I wish other people would talk about this...

Really the best thing about my system is that we can do a slow ramping that way we don't raise the price of human-made goods extremely high... but the best thing is as we automate away production and increase our automated production the citizens will receive Ubi benefits that will increase as the automated production percentage increases... this is literally The Best of Both Worlds and maintains a capitalistic system while embracing and solving the automation problem

I am a practicing design engineer for about 25 years. When I first head of Elon ~10 years ago and was being compared to a real life iron man, I rolled my eyes. I heard him speak and stammer I thought he was a joke and full of sh1t. But when I started to listen to his technical talks (after he introduced the BFR which intrigued me), I thought, oh sh1t, this guy is the real deal. Very difficult to BS technical banter. A real con man with a decent technical background might be able to BS a few points/subjects, but not like this. He is a special dude
Some people don’t take the time to listen to what Elon is actually saying and they just take him out of context. Those who take the time to hear him out, tend to see him in a much more positive light.

"Eradicate corruption"? . Well... To do that in the US you need to persuade those in "Government" who both voted for and benefit from the "Lobby system" to vote out that system. . "State spending" isn't the problem. It's "Spending" (generally) directed and influenced by those individuals and companies with the means and inclination to "persuade" ("Invest in"?) Politicians who *should* be concerned with Government *of and for* "the people" to instead act in the interest of *the politicians* and the company/ individual. . If you call that "capitalism" it's YOU that's of the receiving end. (I call it "Sanctioned Corruption") . "Educate well"? Take a look at Global IQ and Education indexes. The Bastion of "Capitalism" doesn't fare too well. (From memory, ±27th in the Global average IQ Index per head capita.... The top 6 are all in Asia) Losing..... . I could point out that during the last 2 decades, that same Country (guess who? 😉) Exported industry to try and "Capitalise" on the cheap labor of the "Communists".... With the aim of bringing the cheaper components and products back for sale at home, at the "Old" price, thus capitalising on the domestic population., . However, The "Communists", being a 4,000 year old culture of scholars, engineers and *traders* (!) had seen it all before and after they finished laughing, took FULL advantage, using their expertise to first learn, then to *CAPITALISE* on the opportunity. . Look up the term "Capitalise" .... Literally "to get an advantage from" (something, such as an event or situation) . And here we are... . Ohhhh the Irony?

As far as banning trading for senators, there was the bipartisan "Ban Stock Trading for Government Officials Act of 2023" recently introduced by both a republican & democrat but as far as I can see from researching the bill, it is "stalled" and not really gaining any traction to bring it to a vote...so there are a few leaders (OK, VERY few) who recognize this absolute conflict of interest but both parties as a whole are reluctant to move it forward. Thanks for the great discussion.

This is a good message however, in real life this just does not play out. I suggest most people are concerned about themselves and their immediate family and friends, not necessarily the good of humanity. The reason we have managed to hold it together so far and create this prosperity and relative peace is down to the Judeo/Christian foundations of our society. Anti-capitalism and anti-fascism is not the same thing.
Socialism, the real one, means you are entitled to a few weeks of holidays each working year, you can attend and care for a newborn for a few months regardless of your income level, you have access to good education, if you get ill you’ll be treated with the best possible care, and if you fall down, there will always be something there to ease your fall and help you get back up, no matter what your social status or wealth is, equally, not more nor less, for everyone. This holds true as long as everyone collaborates and aims is to be employed as much as reasonably possible, making contributions but with basic rights like max 40 hour-week jobs, and everyone agree to pay decent taxes and are willing to live well but without obnoxious excesses, like a massive house or 3 cars (though you can have these too and many many do). What I find funny is Americans who are wealthy being hypocritical, just because you had a good education that you could afford, and good health care due to a great employer, doesn’t mean this is the same for the majority of your fellow compatriots. Some live very well at the expense pf many living pretty poorly. I am not anti-capitalist and I believe in a meritocratic system where free market (regulated and kept out of basic essential goods) are a way to generate wealth, but there is a base line we should as people try to uphold, in which fewer of our fellow humans suffer unnecessarily
@craigarich

Capitalism thrives for the general good within a society that has a good moral character. In American culture, it was formed around the population having a Christian World view of morality. Exactly as our founding fathers envisioned. Yet good and evil prevails in cycles (They knew this as well). Checks and Balances ultimately are failing to compensate for our utter human deprivation. All of this is predictable, sadly, but it boils down to who’s in charge on the personal level. For too many of us, it’s ourselves. If Tesla existed in your Socialist Nirvana world, they’d be almost as successful as Yugo.

Surprisingly, today it was Farzad, spinning the “word salad” & Hans spitting the Truth. Words, well chosen Hans!
Hey Farzad quick question, is there going to be a cure for hyperacusis and hearing loss/tinnitus with neuralink anytime soon? I would love to know as I suffer from all 3.
Musk will have to build croc filled moats around his factories.
1:48 They think they should be given things, they don't want to work. They treat their fellow citizens as resources to be exploited.

Capitalists? True. They're just middle men exploiting wealth for the labour of the working class. Sam Altamn is right when he advocates the collective ownership of compute.
Spending for war with no reason is stupid. Protecting our allies and our interests is important. Why do we have career politicians' "greed" It's the under the table envelope that nobody is supposed to know about. "Payment for a favor"
Everyone thinks “the other guy’s politician is rubbish. Mine is ok.”
I hope you can get him on your show, sometime!
This is a fantastic conversation regardless of who or what you believe. Thank you.
We are in a post construction time. The construction says what the government can not do. The government has gotten to big.
Who is this guest and does he have a channel - very good analysis
@Farzad @HansCNelson I love this conversation BUT!!! You guys are soooooo close to putting your finger on the button. Hans got really close when he called the motivation an “IT” which it is. Would be happy to tell you what “IT” is, because the time has come to deal with “IT”. Am only 28 minutes into this cast. You guys are soooooo close. Best Wishes. Thank you for your work. Davida
I love these two. Hans is straight down the line, with measured analysis on everything from FSD to global socio-economic analysis. All the while, Farzad's maniacal laugh lightening it up. Although I'm not a card carrying Christian, I appreciate the sentiment of Hans, and the humanist insights of Farzad. Such great, inspiring young men speaking about what they're passionate about. Great and informative entertainment. Good luck to Farzad and Producer Wife on their upcoming parenthood.
P.S. The German automotive industry is located in Stuttgard and Munich.
This conversation between Farzad and Hans is total nonsense and is typical American who don’t have a clue about Europe. As a Canadian having worked in Europe and France for over 40 years you could not be more wrong. In particular the German and French are very hard working people although there are strikes usually about pension plans or the lack thereof.
Against capitalism from Germany! A country generate some of the most expensive ICE cars in the world. Why pick on Tesla instead?
